GGuest UserWhen we arrived, the dam had been repaired, and we could see the beautiful view of Tianmu Lake from the hotel door. The hotel housekeeper contacted us in advance, and we stayed in the private soup room and gave us fish head vouchers. For other dishes, we ordered black rice and The small bamboo shoots are quite delicious when cooked, and the experience is still very good!

GGuest UserThe service at the hotel was excellent, they were polite and very helpful. Any questions that you asked, they answered without hesitation. Overall the staff, were the best if I have to compare with other big and small hotels that I have been to. My friend and I booked the hotel together. The rooms were very very nice. We loved them. It was easy to travel around the resort, they have golf carts that can take you around the resort. So many activities to do there. You need to speak a little bit of Chinese though. But in case you don’t they will find someone to help you there.
The hotel package we took included the hot springs, spar and breakfast. It was worth it.
The springs are the best. There is also an infinity pool. The people there are very helpful, great service. It was easy to spot two foreigners but they treated us with so much kindness, especially the man and woman at the fish spring and the little cafe there names: 张浩川, 张刘纪 and 彭玉琴.
So Hentique hotels and resort is huge. The area and the activities you can do there are plenty. You can get on a helicopter(480rmb), boat(272rmb) it includes going to the islands and mountain hiking, horse riding and many more. You just have to come with a good budget. Breakfast is at the big hotel that has a great view of the lake.
Hentique pinecone has different restaurants around, the food is between 100 -300 per person. I suggest you bring snacks because there aren’t any shops close by. The big hotel has a shop where you can buy snacks for a price, and an all day restaurant. We ended up moving from hentique pinecone hotel to the big hotel but paid a little bit more and was worth every penny. The hotel really good, with a nice view, the manager on duty that day August 16th 2023 was the best manager, I forgot his name. His English was very very good. He answered all questions and helped us transfer from 松果 to the big hotel.
Having being in China for a long time, this was the best trip ever, with the best service. We will surely go back to this place.

DdyhxThe hotel has its own onsen area that's open to non-hotel guests. So the entrance starts with the shoe cabinets before reaching the front desk that serves both onsen day-use guests and hotel guests.
The Japanese themed room was luxurious. Very clean and impeccably maintained, good sound proofing I could hear a pin drop in the room. Double basins, Dyson hair dryer, bidet toilet bowl, standing shower and a huge zen sofa couch area by the window, complete with tea and chess set. Pity there's not much of a view out there. There's also no phone here, just a speaker by the bedside table or one can use WeChat to communicate with the front desk and of course robot deliveries.
Bed and pillow was too soft for my liking. Service is excellent and they even provide turn down service. I left the room for onsen and came back to a room where the curtains are drawn, a plate of fruits on the table, floor towel laid out in the shower area with the bath towel, originally under the basin, now hung on the door of the shower.
The stay package came with an Afternoon Tea set of fruits, desserts and crackers. The cheesecakes were meh but the pineapple tart made up for it. Fruits were fresh and yums.
In-house guests were given unlimited access to the Onsen and I took my time to enjoy it fully. It's a full Jap style onsen, meaning going fully naked. A rather small onsen with just 3 pools but the outdoor one was the best, soaking in 43 degrees pool in the cold. There's a chill out area outside including a lounge, meditation room and a movie-cum-reading room (what an irony though). They also have private onsen rooms for rent at additional costs.
Leisurely breakfast the next morning at 930am. Yes, I had to choose a specific hour to be at breakfast as it's a Jap bento set with a partial buffet (of noodles and porridge). Not outstanding for me.
But otherwise, it was 5* experience and I recommend this to anyone planning to come to Taicang to experience the onsen.

MMusaOur stay at the Novotel Suzhou was nothing short of memorable! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service, which set the tone for an amazing experience for our entire family.
The hotel itself is beautiful, with a modern yet inviting ambiance that instantly made us feel at ease. We were particularly impressed by the range of facilities that catered to everyone in the family. The hot springs were a highlight for us, providing a tranquil escape and a perfect way to unwind and rejuvenate. The water was just right, and the surroundings were serene, adding to the overall relaxing atmosphere.
The swimming pool was also a big hit, especially with the kids. Spacious and well-maintained, it offered plenty of room for swimming, splashing, and simply having fun. The kids’ playground was another wonderful feature that our children absolutely loved. It was well-designed, safe, and filled with engaging activities that kept them entertained while we enjoyed a bit of downtime.
Food at the Novotel Suzhou was a true treat! The morning brunch had a diverse selection of delicious items that catered to all tastes. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, making each meal a delightful experience. We looked forward to each dining experience, knowing there was something new to try and savor.
The afternoon brunch was another stand-out feature. It was a luxurious affair with a mix of international and local flavors that kept us coming back for more. The chefs clearly took pride in their craft, and it showed in every dish.
Overall, our stay at the Novotel Suzhou was filled with wonderful moments, from relaxing in the hot springs to enjoying family time at the pool and playground. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to create lasting family memories, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!

Hygiene: The room was spotless, and the hotel's public areas were also very tidy.
Environment: The space is vast with lots of greenery – a great place to breathe in some fresh air.
Service: You need to take a shuttle from the lobby to the room, but they even deliver food right to your door, which was incredibly thoughtful!

EEddie1724The hotel's location is good, and the facilities are decent, but the service is truly terrible, riddled with various mistakes. For a hotel of this caliber, both domestically and internationally, the service is quite poor:
1. I initially booked 7 rooms for 2 nights: 5 twin rooms and 2 king rooms. Due to an unforeseen circumstance, I needed to cancel one night for one of the rooms. I was told that to cancel one night, I would have to cancel all 7 rooms and rebook. Since it was close to New Year's Day, room prices were increasing daily. Rebooking just to cancel one night would have cost me over 600 RMB more, so I decided against it. Later, due to personal reasons, I canceled one king room, and I'm not even going to bother calculating the loss, but the logic behind the initial policy completely eludes me.
2. As it was a family gathering, I contacted the hotel in advance to book a private dining room for dinner at their Chinese restaurant and to update the guest information, leaving my phone number. The customer service representative was very enthusiastic, assuring me everything was registered and that the Chinese restaurant would contact me shortly. I waited all day but received no call from the restaurant. The next day, I proactively called the Chinese restaurant to book a private room myself.
3. The day before check-in, the hotel called me to confirm my check-in details. I mentioned that I had already provided this information a few days prior, but the hotel claimed they had no record. I re-confirmed all the information and the updated guest details. The hotel then said they would send the park entry code by 7 PM. However, I didn't receive it until 8 PM, after I had to call the hotel myself.
4. Since our group was arriving in shifts, the first companions to arrive went to check in, only to find that the hotel didn't have her name on file. I had already communicated and confirmed the updated guest information with the hotel twice before this, yet it was still incorrect at check-in.
5. Our main group arrived in the evening, and we each proceeded to check in. Bizarrely, we were given a room that was already occupied! For a hotel of this standard, such a mistake is unimaginable. The duty manager even told me they would investigate the cause. Was I asking for an investigation? I needed a new room immediately! They left us stranded in the lobby for over ten minutes. Reflecting on it later, what if the front desk had re-issued my room key while I was sleeping at night...
6. Peanut shells from lunch at the Chinese restaurant were left on the coffee table. When we went for dinner that evening, they were still there, still there, still there.
7. I brought my own tea to the Chinese restaurant. After dinner, no one reminded me to take my unfinished tea with me.
8. There were no welcome fruits or snacks upon check-in.
These are my complaints. If it were a budget hotel or another ordinary hotel, I wouldn't have such high standards. This is truly a hotel management issue. Oh, and today, customer service called me to ask about my stay experience. I voiced all the above complaints, but this hotel probably won't remember after one or two mentions.
I didn't take many photos because the check-in experience was so poor. My holiday mood was completely ruined by the hotel's service.

I was genuinely surprised by how seriously they took every request from my parents and fulfilled each one. The complimentary osmanthus cake was delicious! TTim Captures MomentsWe stayed here for one night at the start of our Yangzhou trip to enjoy the hot springs, and overall it was a mixed but pleasant experience.
The room was large and spacious, which we appreciated, but it didn’t feel especially comfortable or cosy compared to other hotels we stayed at later in the trip. The layout felt more functional than relaxing.
One important thing to note is the private hot spring attached to the room. While it sounds great in theory, in our case it was located close to a road and not very private, with limited screening. The shower area was also visible from outside, which made it feel a bit awkward to use and reduced the sense of privacy we were expecting.
That said, the service was excellent. Staff were friendly, helpful, and genuinely attentive, which made a positive difference to the stay.
The location is very nice, especially if you enjoy walking. The hotel is close to Slender West Lake, with its beautiful old bridges, pathways, and water crossings — very pleasant for a slow walk. We also enjoyed having tea by the lake, although it was a long walk from the hotel.
Breakfast offered a good variety, but most items didn’t feel very fresh. The coffee, unfortunately, was among the worst we’ve had — definitely not one for coffee lovers (said with a smile 😄).
Overall, this is a good option if your priority is hot springs, walking access to the park, and attentive service, but it may not suit travellers who value privacy, comfort, or a more refined in-room hot spring experience.

Hhappyfox1016The service here is absolutely fantastic! 👍 They're incredibly responsive and always ready to help. The hotel's design is fresh and unique, and the surrounding environment is also great. 👍 I'd honestly give it five stars if I were just considering the staff's dedication, but to help the hotel improve and give other guests an objective understanding, I have a few suggestions:
1. The afternoon tea restaurant could use more air conditioning; it felt a bit chilly.
2. There was a strange smell in the guest room foyer that needs to be investigated.
3. The secondary bathroom also had an odor that needs addressing.
4. Room amenities should be checked and repaired promptly. For instance, the plug in the outdoor hot tub was broken, leading to a lot of wasted water. It's better to fix these things before guests find out they're not working.
5. The hotel's greenery needs timely pruning. Dead leaves and branches should be removed, and fresh plants or flowers should be placed on restaurant tables. Artificial greenery, especially if it looks bad, should be avoided.
6. Damaged corners on hotel pathways should be repaired promptly.
7. Most importantly, housekeeping carts were frequently blocking pathways and room entrances. While I appreciate the staff's hard work, this seems like a hotel management and design issue that requires a smart solution.
I hope the hotel continues to improve; we'd love to stay here again. A big thank you to the front desk, housekeeping staff, maintenance engineers, and restaurant servers – you are all amazing!
