Very conveniently located along the route from the airport to the central Hakodate!! The ryokan is a beautiful traditional style ryokan with tatami mat and delicious kaiseki dinner. The place is very quiet and peaceful and there is onsen available. It is located near the beach if you want to take in some fresh sea breeze.
A traditional Japanese hotspring resort with excellent view and great breakfast. Staff are polite and friendly. The public hotspring has a wonderful view.
We had a wonderful stay at Protom International Hokkaido, and it became one of the most memorable parts of our trip.
The hotel kindly surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to the Junior Twin Suite, and the room was incredibly spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were so happy when we entered the room — it felt bright, modern, and very relaxing, especially after a long day of travel.
What touched us the most was the kindness of the hotel staff. Everyone was polite, warm, and always ready to help. Their hospitality made us feel truly welcomed, not just as guests, but like friends.
We are very grateful for the upgrade and the wonderful service. This stay made our Hokkaido trip even more special. We will definitely choose Protom International Hokkaido again next time.
Highly recommended. ( sorry about only the photos of the key)
I loved Nukumori No Yado Furukawa! I was an American solo traveler, but my wife is Japanese (we have 2 boys), so I am very familiar with Japanese culture. I wanted to go to a place that Japanese people would love, not a tourist-focused place. From the moment I entered, the service was excellent. I was greeted, checked in quickly, then accompanied to my room for explanations of how everything operates. My room was very comfortable. The facilities, including bath area, foot soaking areas, lobby, lounges, etc. - were all clean and comfortable. The lounge next to the lobby was a cozy place to relax, and most of the lounges included food and drink during at least some point of the day. I visited in mid-October so the leaves were changing color and the temperature outside was crisp but not too cold. Breakfast and dinner were outstanding. I hope to return again with the rest of my family. Highly recommended!
The day we checked in, it happened to be snowing in Sapporo. The sight of Yu Le Cao An amidst the snow truly fulfilled all our expectations for Hokkaido. The snow outside the hotel, illuminated by lights, created an incredibly atmospheric scene.
We were a bit worried because we'd read some reviews saying the hotel's 'one night, two meals' package wasn't great, so we even bought some snacks from a convenience store nearby. However, the dinner turned out to be quite good, and we didn't even touch the food we bought from the convenience store. Each room at the hotel comes with a private indoor hot spring, so for those who dislike waiting, you can enjoy a hot spring bath right in your room. On the first floor, there are four different styles of outdoor private hot springs. I personally think 'Jì' (寂) is the most popular, but unfortunately, we didn't get to use it because there were too many people waiting.
After the hot spring, there are complimentary popsicles and lactic acid drinks on the B1 floor. Apparently, there are also free snacks on the first floor late at night. The only slight regret was that we checked in too late. Although we managed to get the last few bathrobes, all the sashes had been taken by Korean guests, so we couldn't properly wear them.
Finally, I have to praise the excellent service attitude of the hotel staff. The young man in the restaurant recommended a Hokkaido-exclusive drink to us, which was absolutely delicious – highly recommend him! The front desk staff were also very kind and enthusiastic. We weren't sure how to take the bus, and he, along with a Japanese lady who was also traveling, helped us figure it out. We're truly grateful (P.S. The staff member was amazing, he spoke English, Korean, and a little bit of Chinese) 👍🏻
Between the JR Nikko Hotel and this one, the room size was the deciding factor in the end 🤭. We chose the South Tower, which is also relatively new, and the room was incredibly spacious – enough to open a large suitcase. It was also very clean. They have self-service laundry and a bathtub. It's about a 10-minute walk from Sapporo Station. A taxi ride costs around 1000 JPY, so it's convenient to grab one if you're tired. The New Chitose Airport bus stops right in front of the hotel. For the return trip to the airport, the bus stop is just across the street at the Crown Plaza. Taking the airport bus is much more comfortable than dragging suitcases through the snow.
The room was quite spacious and even had an induction cooktop. Both the hotel and the room were clean, even though the facilities weren't brand new. The hotel lobby was beautifully decorated for New Year's Day, which was when I visited. I especially want to mention one of the front desk staff, a ********* lady. She was incredibly warm, spoke so nicely, and was super accommodating – really went above and beyond. The hotel also has a large public bath where you can relax. The breakfast spread was extensive, and you could even make your own seafood rice bowl.
Beautiful hotel with a moor onsen spa and sauna. However it is a 15-min walk from the station and shuttle service is limited. Lots of weddings and royal visit at this resort. Twin Room is spacious and comfortable. Walking distance to M fast food chain next door and Aeon shopping nearby. I would highly recommend it.
The rooms were comfortable and traditional, adding to the authentic Japanese ryokan vibe.
Food-wise, the breakfast was outstanding – a delicious spread of fresh, high-quality Japanese dishes with plenty of variety. It was one of the best ryokan breakfasts I’ve had!
The only small downside was the kaiseki dinner – it was decent but not particularly standout or memorable compared to the rest of the experience.
Overall, if you’re looking for a relaxing onsen-focused stay with top-notch bath facilities and a great breakfast, this place is perfect. I’d definitely return!
Authentic Japanese style hotel that own a hot spring underneath the property. The hotel provides public bath, but private baths are also available for reservation. Breakfast comes in a a personal set and is delicious. The room facing the beach front view hearing sound of the ocean is serene and peaceful. Staff are all friendly and professional.

Very Good
GGuest UserVery very good! The photos are very nice, the breakfast in the restaurant is also delicious, and any photos you take are very good. You can get a yukata after checking in. We didn't know we could choose our favorite yukata until the last day, so we didn't take any photos. Other than that, it's very good, the attitude is also very good, it's worth choosing.
GGuest UserWe had a really fantastic time at Lake Shikotsu Tsuruga Resort which was a once in a lifetime experience for us. The area is beautiful and the spa has everything you need for a fantastic and relaxing stay. We stayed in a Premier Suite and the rooms are fantastic - fully equipped and spacious with all amenities, and a fantastic private Onsen to relax in.The staff at the spa were extremely friendly and helpful, and attentive to all of our needs. We'd love to come back some time and would highly recommend!
GGuest UserLet's start with the room:
The room was incredibly cramped, like a shoebox. There was absolutely no space for a large suitcase, and anyone weighing over 80kg would find it difficult to even turn around. This was completely inconsistent with the 20.9 square meters advertised on Ctrip.
Regarding the hotel's price:
I paid a price that could afford a stay at a Banyan Tree resort in China, but what I got felt more like a school dormitory. The standard was far below 3-star, akin to a budget motel. I booked a twin room, only to be informed it was for single occupancy. To add a 15-year-old child, they demanded an absurd extra charge of 16,300 JPY – a complete rip-off! There are many other hotel options available right outside Hakodate Station. This place is genuinely a scam. The front desk staff were also unprofessional; they even tried to overcharge us for breakfast.
Finally, the facilities:
Bottled drinking water was not provided in the room. Guests had to take a communal carafe to another floor to get water. There was a dryer available, but it was pay-per-use and didn't seem cheap.
In summary, I will absolutely never stay here again when visiting Hakodate, nor would I recommend it to other Chinese travelers.
AAI-KimiThis is *the* must-stay hotel in Shiretoko, hands down. I discovered it through a COCOGO Travel video on Bilibili, and its serene, tranquil, and natural vibe instantly captivated me, making me determined to visit.
Shiretoko in summer is all about forests, hot springs, lakes, wild brown bears, and Ainu culture. Here, everything lives in elegant harmony with nature, allowing you to experience its magnificent landscapes firsthand.
The hotel's decor beautifully reflects the local culture. They offer complimentary ice cream and an open bar with free-flowing drinks. Both breakfast and dinner feature carefully selected local ingredients; while portions aren't huge, they are incredibly refined and exquisite.
From the hotel's onsen and authentic Finnish Löyly sauna, you can gaze out over the Shiretoko mountains and the Sea of Okhotsk. The breathtaking views are sure to lift your spirits and leave you feeling refreshed.
GGuest UserA truly outstanding, authentic Japanese-style resort hotel. The service is impeccable, and the setting is breathtaking. Its rare courtyard is simply a magnificent garden. What truly stood out was the service; you could genuinely feel the sincerity, attentiveness, and proactive care from the staff.
WWingStefanieThe room was very spacious. Dinner and breakfast were already set up, though there were slightly fewer hot dishes. The hot springs were very comfortable; the whole town smelled of sulfur, and my skin felt smooth after soaking. It's about a ten-minute walk to the Bear Ranch, passing what seemed to be the central convenience store, 7-Eleven. Since it was close to a holiday, many shops were closed, making it a good spot for a relaxing hot spring retreat. For scenic views, Lake Toya is more highly recommended.

TTutusThis was the most anticipated part of our entire trip, and it certainly didn't disappoint!
#Hotel Location: Excellent. It's right on the hot spring street, and behind it is the pier for lake boat tours (Happy Boardwalk).
#Hotel Service: They upgraded us to a large suite for free, and the view was absolutely fantastic. I loved the suite's layout, amenities, and the smart toilet. The outdoor hot spring faces the lake, and the male and female baths rotate at different times, so you can try them all (っ˘ڡ˘ς)♨️
The buffet was also good, and we additionally ordered a red king crab which was delicious. You can book many activities and experiences at the hotel. There's an outdoor shop called Siri on the first floor of the hotel where you can book activities like hiking and lake tours. My friend and I booked the night forest light show at the front desk. The only thing worth complaining about is how ugly the hot spring robes are – absolutely no desire to take photos in them!
GGuest UserImpeccable hotel... The environment, service and dining are all perfect! I felt the sincerity and attitude of the service as soon as I walked in. The hot springs are very comfortable, and my skin is smooth after soaking... The key point is that their SPA... The technique is very good!!! I will definitely come again next time!
