This hotel is very thoughtful. The views are beautiful, and they provide toothbrushes, combs, razors, and soap. The hot spring bath was very comfortable, and the shampoo and shower gel were quite good. Even if you decline housekeeping, they'll still leave fresh towels and toothbrushes outside your door, and they even give you a small, handmade soap made with Hokkaido ingredients. They have their own parking lot, and it only costs 2000 yen for an overnight stay.

This hotel seems quite popular with Chinese tourists. Sitting in the lobby, I almost felt like I was back home, it was so noisy – probably all tour groups. The room was really small, and the heating was turned up way too high. The facilities are a bit old-fashioned. The window was surprisingly large, which is rare for Japan. Breakfast didn't offer much variety and the taste was just so-so. Overall, it was an average experience.

Location is 100%! Booked this room for a family of 4, reached the hotel early and they allow us early check in! Didn’t try their onsen, breakfast is up to standard. And there is washing machine in the room, which is very convenient! There is a nice ramen downstairs which serves nicer fried chicken.

I enjoyed the onsen (hot spring) in the morning, which was very relaxing and washed away my fatigue, helping me start a new day. As a base in Hakodate, you can walk to the seaside from the back door. Hakodate Station is about a 10-minute walk away. If you're dragging luggage in snowy weather, I recommend taking a taxi, though the route is very straightforward – just a straight road. There are buses near the hotel that go to Goryokaku and Mount Hakodate. On the way to Hakodate Station, there are also many great places to eat. Plus, there's a drugstore and convenience store right in front of the hotel, which is super convenient.

The hotel lobby is stunning, with huge floor-to-ceiling windows offering a magnificent view directly onto Lake Toya. Every room also boasts a lake view. The breakfast and dinner buffets offer a good variety of dishes, though the quality is pretty standard, nothing to write home about. The hot springs are beautiful, and the infinity pool also faces Lake Toya. It's worth noting that the hotel provides a free shuttle bus service to and from Sapporo, which can save you a good amount on transportation costs if you plan accordingly.

After 10 stops in Japan I can say Tokyu Stay is my favorite hotel chain. In-room laundry is so nice for long term travel and they always provide the quintessential hotel amenities. No fancy design gimmicks, just everything you need. Location was great a few blocks from Hakodate station and the harbor. Excellent views from the rooftop lounge.

I just realized I completely forgot to take photos of the room! It looked pretty much like the sample pictures on Trip.com. Japanese hotels are generally small, and this one wasn't particularly spacious, but I could open up my 26-inch suitcase on the floor. **Location:** It's at the end of Tanukikoji Shopping Street. It's a bit of a walk to Susukino and Odori Station, but there are plenty of great places to eat along the way. Ichiran Ramen, Katsu Ichi Sen Conveyor Belt Sushi, Soul Store Soup Curry, and Espresso D Works for brunch are all within walking distance. So, aside from when I was arriving and departing (when I'd take a taxi to Sapporo Station), I walked everywhere else to digest after meals. **Cleanliness:** They clean every two days, which is acceptable. **Facilities:** There's no bathtub, but the shower pressure is excellent and very comfortable. What's worth mentioning are their Pola toiletries – after using them, my hair felt incredibly light and voluminous, with no tangles at all. There's an outdoor onsen on the top floor, but I didn't get to try it, which is a shame. Overall, it's pretty good value for money; the location is great, making it convenient for travel.

It was pretty good. The view from the 24th floor was excellent, and the public bath was larger than the Dormy Inn I stayed at before. The triple room was also very nice. Although the 0.9-meter-wide bed was a bit narrow for my 14-year-old, he didn't mind, and I prefer us all sleeping together, as it helps us bond more with him. The only hassle was the air conditioning was too hot; I suggest they not turn it off completely but instead set it to the lowest temperature of 18 degrees.

LLiduoxiliaolinuolisiI'd call this unbeatable. First off, the front desk service was truly above and beyond my expectations. It was snowing heavily, and the bellhop was still waiting outside for guests to arrive, helping with luggage. The outdoor private onsen in the room was also exceptional; the view and atmosphere were incredible. The breakfast, with its unbeatable ocean view, topped it all off. I had a wonderful day in Hakodate!

GGuest UserThe hotel management is really poor. The public hot spring always has a sticky film on top, and there were foreign objects in the large pool where people lie down, almost cutting my skin. The worst part is that these things can't be removed. The day after soaking, my feet were incredibly itchy, probably due to a fungal infection. People with tattoos and whatnot were also soaking, and no one seemed to care. At 9 AM, staff members were walking around the hot spring area in outdoor snow boots, which was absolutely disgusting. And the funniest thing is, you have to take off your shoes when entering this hotel, and you're not allowed to wear slippers inside the entire hotel. I won't even mention the insufficient floor heating; walk around in socks for a bit, and white socks turn grey. Luggage can be wheeled through freely, so just imagine how dirty it must be. The dinner buffet was mediocre. I ordered a glass of red wine and had a headache all day afterward. The breakfast buffet the next day, however, was decent. I probably won't go back and hope they seriously improve their management. Don't tarnish the Tsuruga brand.

TTaidijunThis was my second stay at the Park Hyatt Niseko, and it seems the front desk staff was new this time. They made several mistakes, like sending us to the wrong building and getting our room direction wrong – quite unprofessional. On our third day, breakfast at the Chinese restaurant was poorly arranged; we were seated right next to the cart for collecting dirty dishes, which completely ruined our appetite. Otherwise, it was as excellent as ever! The housekeeping ladies were exceptionally good. After a day out, we returned to find our beloved teddy bear neatly placed on the pillow with a blanket over it – so thoughtful! And the teppanyaki was delicious as always!

GGuest UserThe hotel is new, modern and comfy for chilling or if you wanna to work from hotel😅. There is shuttle bus service to nearby sightseeing points with different time frame. Service provided by sending and picking up from those points are provided, which it is good for those whose family doesnt rent a car. It is a farrrrrr sea view from the room but it is good enough in Hakodate. Wlaking distance from JR station and bus interchange. there is a supermarket is behind the hotel which it is convenient.

GGuest UserI absolutely love Hanabishi Hotel — I had the best 2-night stay here. The hotel is quiet with no large tour groups, and I really enjoyed the traditional feel and relaxing vibes. I tried all of their room types, and my favorite is the futon room with a private onsen. The futon is very comfortable, and the room itself is incredibly spacious. The staff are friendly and helpful, even assisting me with arranging taxi service. The location is convenient, only about a 10-minute drive from Hakodate Airport. I also loved both the breakfast buffet and the dinner set — they truly pampered me like I was the queen of the world. The public onsen is beautiful and huge. I will forever choose to stay here whenever I’m in the area.

MMiasmileFebruary 2026, Eastern Hokkaido - The Life I Dream Of~ After a full day of touring on the Akan Bus Kushiro Shiretoko line, I arrived at the hotel around 6 PM. I still tend to call it Kitakobushi Hotel, as I'm used to it. The online reviews for Kitakobushi Hotel are exceptionally high, which made me really look forward to my stay. Objectively, the hotel's public area facilities and services were impeccable. There were several record players in quiet corners, allowing guests to immerse themselves in nostalgic golden oldies. The lounge offered a rich selection of free pastries, snacks, alcoholic beverages, and drinks – enough to enjoy all afternoon without getting bored. You could also luxuriate in the outdoor foot bath while gazing at the drift ice on the Sea of Okhotsk. There was even an entertainment room with ping-pong tables and more. I'd say, if you don't have time to just relax at the hotel and enjoy these free services, then perhaps Kitakobushi isn't for you, as these are its core values. Next, the guest rooms. I booked two types: a sea view twin room and a deluxe sea view twin room. Both face the Sea of Okhotsk, offering direct views of the drift ice. The main difference is that the deluxe room is larger and more spacious, and on a higher floor. However, I found the room facilities quite ordinary, even a bit dated, not on the same level as the services and facilities outside the guest rooms. If we were just talking about the rooms, there's a significant gap between Kitakobushi and La Vista; they're not comparable. But the free public services provided are simply outstanding, solidifying my decision to stay at Kitakobushi every time I visit Shiretoko! If you've booked various hiking activities, they'll pick you up at the hotel lobby, so you just need to wait there. Right next to the hotel are two convenience stores, Seicomart and 7-Eleven, and within a few hundred meters, there are also quite a few restaurants. So, if you haven't booked the hotel's buffet, finding food nearby isn't an issue. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied. I'll definitely choose Kitakobushi again on my next trip to Shiretoko.

GGuest User🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An Unforgettable Stay! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 This place is truly a hidden gem! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the warmest smiles and the most genuine hospitality. Every staff member made us feel like family—so friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with anything we needed. The stay itself was beyond amazing. The room was spotless, cozy, and incredibly comfortable—but the highlight was definitely the private onsen in the room. Soaking in the hot spring after a long day was pure bliss. Calm, relaxing, and absolutely luxurious. And the food… WOW. Every meal felt like a masterpiece. Beautifully presented, fresh, flavorful, and full of local character. Each dish was a delight, and we looked forward to every single meal. Perfect service, perfect stay, perfect food, perfect onsen. I would come back in a heartbeat—and recommend this place to anyone looking for a truly special experience. 💖

GGuest UserTabino Hotel Ishikari (旅之酒店石狩) is a relatively new hotel that opened in late 2025, and it quickly became one of my favorite stops during my Hokkaido trip. Located in Ishikari City, it’s about a 15–20 minute drive from central Sapporo areas like Hokkaido University or Odori Park, making it a smart choice for those who want easy access to the city without staying right in the busy downtown. One of the first things that struck me was the massive parking lot—it’s a spacious, flat, free parking area with plenty of spots, even for larger vehicles (though larger ones might need prior arrangement). No stress about circling for a space or paying extra fees, which is a huge plus for self-drive travelers in Hokkaido. The room felt pleasantly spacious compared to many budget or business hotels in Japan. I could fully open my suitcase, unpack comfortably, and still have plenty of room to move around. All rooms come equipped with handy in-room amenities like a washing machine, microwave, and fridge, which are great for longer stays or if you want to heat up snacks. The surroundings are remarkably quiet and peaceful, giving that relaxing escape-from-the-city vibe, especially at night. Yet, convenience is never compromised—there’s a 24-hour convenience store (like a 7-Eleven) just a 1-minute walk away, perfect for grabbing late-night snacks, drinks, breakfast items, or anything you need without driving. It’s such a thoughtful location balance. One of the biggest highlights is the on-site hot spring facility. The large public bath uses an artificial onsen inspired by Noboribetsu’s Shirakaba-no-Yu (white birch hot spring), with milky, smooth water that’s incredibly soothing after a day of driving or sightseeing. There’s also a sauna, making it easy to unwind and recharge right at the hotel—no need to hunt for external onsens. Cleanliness is top-notch throughout the property. Everything from the lobby and corridors to the rooms and bath areas felt spotless and well-maintained, with fresh linens and no lingering odors. It’s clear the staff takes pride in keeping the place immaculate. Overall, Tabino Hotel Ishikari offers excellent value: comfortable, feature-packed rooms, unbeatable parking convenience, that perfect mix of tranquility and nearby 24/7 shopping, plus the bonus of relaxing in the hot springs without leaving the hotel. It’s ideal for self-drive explorers, families, or anyone wanting a peaceful yet practical base near Sapporo. I’d definitely stay here again on future trips!

KKunjinkaozhiyaoyaoEverything was great, except for the slightly hard slippers. The crab with ponzu sauce for dinner and the sweet shrimp for breakfast were absolutely delicious! After a soak in the hot spring, my skin felt so smooth. They had a wide variety of shampoos, mostly Pola, and also a hot spring water hair conditioner. I liked it so much I bought it directly from the hotel shop, it was even cheaper than Taobao resellers. Some of the hotel's little decorations were really cute. You can ask the front desk to book a free shuttle to the bear farm.
