Hot spring Hotels in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan

We met 2 staff at restaurant there that were not cheerful and giving us a poker face! They even urge us to finish our breakfast when we just started for 15 mins, saying that just 15 more mins were allowed. The female staff standing at the front desk of restaurant looks like she was suffering and unhappy about her job, without any reasons, we have no clue why she acted that way. The food provided in both dinner and breakfast buffet are just so so and not much to choose from. The view from the room is excellent as the location itself is in front of the lake, the room is spacious and clean! However, with such service, I will not come back and not recommended to others, there are more options in Hakone in similar price.

Impressed by the infinity pool design of outdoor onsen on 6/F. Can watch sunrise with stunning view. Need to confirm if can go in for the morning during your stay as they switch gender for every day. It’s not a problem if you are staying for two nights. Food is nice and breakfast buffet has wide variety of dishes. Free shuttle bus is available to Garo station every 30mins.

Very attentive We entered the room at 3 p.m. and were provided free tea and coffee throughout the day, unlike other hotels where we could only eat for a certain amount of time. It's considered very fair. You can eat whenever you want. The onsen is very good. The view is very good. Clean. Use Pola. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel. Opposite is Yunessun. There is a shuttle bus to Gora Station and the big sakura park. Easy to walk around The room is spacious, sleeps comfortably, 10/10.

Our anniversary was on the 22nd and we received a call from the front desk asking if they could bring us a gift for our anniversary. They brought us an assortment of sweet treats, which we enjoyed with a cup of tea. Very sweet. Our room was spacious, clean with the perfect temperature. The television was the largest that I have seen a Japanese hotel. Our room was on the riverside with a private outdoor onsen. While relaxing in the onsen, you can hear the calming sounds of the river. There is also a foot soak in the garden area. it was a bit to cold outside for me, so I didn't get to enjoy it on this stay. The hotel was cleaned thoroughly and safety precautions were taken. All of staff wore masks and for breakfast, we were provided with gloves to get continental items from the buffet. All tables were wiped down immediately after a party left and were socially distanced. The hotel is in close proximity to just about everything. During our 5 day stay, we visited The Open Air Museum, the Venetian Glass Garden, Gora Park, and The Red Gate of Peace. We will definitely be returning and look forward to our next stay in the Spring.

The Japanese rooms are almost to small to house two people with luggage, mattresses very thin, no Aircon available (only air clean). Room was run-down, the entire hotel is in dire need for make-over. It surely has seen better days. Therefore, it is overpriced. On the plus side: Food was good and so was the Onsen. But one would find similar Onsen standards nearby, in fact, next door. The nicely sized swimming pool closes at 5pm, can’t tell it’s quality. Massage service available, good service.

What a pleasant surprise to stay at Dormy Inn! It's clean, comfortable, nice location, best of all, I got to do my laundry (washing free, 100 yen for 20mins drying) what a deal. While waiting for the laundry, there is a library with massage chairs! The hot spring onsen was clean and nice. The breakfast was good choices of mostly Japanese flavors. Location was good for me. I want somewhere near public transit but not too close to super busy area. Walking about 8 mins will take you to most of the busy area. I think this area is mostly for guy though as there are mainly girl's bars... also, the area has lots of ******** *************. Taking the train to the Haneda airport was a breeze. Overall really enjoyed my stay. The room could be a little small for 2 persons just keep that in mind if traveling as a couple. Happy traveling!

I stayed on the third floor and in my opinion rooms on the third and fourth floors have a better view but the second floor rooms have a balcony and the first floor rooms have patios. The hotel provides yukatas and all toiletries you might need. The hotel onsen is small but nice and also has an outdoor bath. The hotel spa is very relaxing with a variety of services. I did not have dinner at the property but breakfast was very good. Every staff member I encountered was extremely professional, courteous and friendly. My only complaint is the mattress was very firm and I prefer some thing softer but that is a personal preference.

What tainted a one-night stay is I was traveling with a vegetarian friend and not only was she shut out of a dinner she paid for, but the front desk agent said they couldn't accommodate her, there would be no refund or substitutions, because we were traveling as solos we couldn't sit together - so many ”couldn'ts” that were simply not true. This tainted my stay and I went alone to dinner - plenty of room for another person - which was great. I was embarrassed that I had picked this hotel for friends to stay separately and upon arrival was told that our plan didn't include meals, which they sure did. So, at the front desk for about $300 per night, everything is ”couldn't”. Breakfast was just OK compared to dinner. I loved wearing the yakata and having hot spring water in the room's tub (which could use updating) was nice. In the morning, I was told to reserve a spot on a shuttle to the train station for what reason, I'm not sure. When no shuttle showed up for me, my friend and others waiting - and waiting - and waiting - we were then told that the shuttle doesn't always show up. Why the reservation for something that doesn't happen? The front desk could not request a cab, another ”couldn't”. Since most of us leaving had trains to catch and tours scheduled, we walked the 15 minutes or so to the station in the rain. I saw other guests I met while waiting also drenched at the station. In short, I'm not impressed though so much of Japan has impressive accommodations and kindness. Hakone Pax Yoshino falls short. For that reason, I wouldn't stay again and don't recommend it. Too bad, because the traditional dinner and restaurant serving staff are top notch. I'm sure the chef - and a dinner this good has to have a chef - would have said to serve a vegetarian rice, vegetables, desserts of which there were several as well as a large drink menu and other dishes - and the experience would have been better. Unfortunate that the front desk person we had could only say no, you don't have, we can't. Well, I think they could have. Very sad.

It was a wonderful 1 night trip tom Tokyo. Went by car, about 2 hours easy, relaxing drive. The hotel has car park, safety box at reception area, yukata (for room and bath use). Amenities by Pola cosmetics brand, very nice. Room slipper and hotel ground slipper. An own sock might be nice if you don't like the sticky feel. There is bath tub in room also although the onsen is far more wonderful experience. Locker within, hair dryer, water for drink. Basket is available in room for bathing purpose, where change and other stuff can be put in. The whole basket can be locked inside provided locker in bathing area. A code to unlock entrance door will be provided upon check in. Dinner (1 hour) and breakfast (50 minutes) were fabulous and plenty of choices. There is time limit and I suppose to discourage chatting during meal time. A can of drink is presented after finishing dinner. A bento palate is provided to some takeout if needed. There is a gift shop area at lobby too. (Will post photos later.)

In Kyoritsu Resort, it is the most popular and favorite inn of my home. The lobby lounge was crowded, so I relaxed because I had coffee until check-in on a large terrace outside the lounge. From this terrace, you can see the forest tree 々 and it is designed to hear the sound of the water. Even after the next morning's bath, I came to the lounge and drank morning coffee and cold black bean tea. The coolness of the terrace outside is relieved when the hot water is up. The green leaves are still beautiful, and with the sound of water, it is really healed. When I went to a bath with a large bath, the basket in the dressing room was a locker type. The locker pattern was bamboo or bamboo, and it was dark peppermint color and white (Hawaii?), and it did not match the atmosphere of the original ancient bath at all. When I returned to the room and visited the locker with me, I said, ”it's cheap”, and I feel completely the same. I don't see such a pattern even in day trip hot water. As I said that the chair of the hot water (drinking milk) was lost, I had a rest place with a TV at the end (the opposite direction to the elevator). Also, the morning lactic acid beverage was changed to this place. The bath was in the morning of the next morning, and after a long time, I went to the rental open-air bath. It's nice to feel like a bath in the forest (just a bath). Also, when you go to another large bath, you still use a basket in the dressing room (there is a locker for the key of the room), strange tropical? I was relieved that I didn't become a locker. This is also an ancient bath. Dinner was the quietest seat in the back when I put a quiet seat and a request. The content of the meal and the person in charge were good. Only this inn has 60 minutes of alcohol at dinner in Kyoritsu Resort, which I have stayed so far. Because it is 60 minutes, this service is happy because it is not too much to drink. I like the point that I can slow because I check out at 11 o'clock.

What a pleasant surprise to stay at Dormy Inn! It's clean, comfortable, nice location, best of all, I got to do my laundry (washing free, 100 yen for 20mins drying) what a deal. While waiting for the laundry, there is a library with massage chairs! The hot spring onsen was clean and nice. The breakfast was good choices of mostly Japanese flavors. Location was good for me. I want somewhere near public transit but not too close to super busy area. Walking about 8 mins will take you to most of the busy area. I think this area is mostly for guy though as there are mainly girl's bars... also, the area has lots of ******** *************. Taking the train to the Haneda airport was a breeze. Overall really enjoyed my stay. The room could be a little small for 2 persons just keep that in mind if traveling as a couple. Happy traveling!
