We stopped at the southern town of Kochi during our Shikoku cycling challenging around the island. It was a long day after 130km from Shishiku but finally arrived at the Dormy Inn at around 3:30pm.
Location wise it’s excellent as it is at the heart of the shopping district with many shops and restaurants nearby. The hotel is bike friendly allowing us to take the bike into our room. Amenities is excellent and room is clean although a tad smaller than expected. In general I am happy with our decision staying at the Dormy Inn of Kochi.
This trip has chosen a hotel closer to the 36th!
A restaurant with beautiful sea views, the outdoor pool is also well designed.
The counter staff was very patient. On the eve of the typhoon, many buses changed their shifts. The hotel staff also drove us to the bus stop sign with the departure bus!
Really sincerely thank you 🙏
Highly recommended!
The hotel is in a very remote place. If you don't drive by yourself, it takes 15 minutes by bus. There are only a few buses a day, so transportation is inconvenient.
The room is on the underground floor, facing the trees at the back. The interior of the house is decorated in wood color, but the bathroom is in the style of an old-style hot spring hotel. The hotel has indoor and outdoor hot springs, but the outdoor hot springs are not hot enough.
Due to its remote location and few street lights around, you can see many stars when you look up.
The room we stayed in was very spacious. The onsen was really amazing, quite huge that could accommodate the many other guests who booked at the same time with us at the peak of the golden week. We availed the buffet dinner, where we luckily got discounts from our All Accor membership. The dinner buffet has a wide selection of food and drinks. They also had a buffet breakfast which was quite good.
Cannot ask for more from this hotel. Everything is perfect. We have the best accomodation in here while in Shikoku, where we have stayed in 9 hotels. It was simply the best.
The environment is recluse, though it is highly accessible with cars. The star-gazing experience in onsen is once in a lifetime. It was magical to bath under the starry night. The dining experience is exceptional, though it is a little pricey, compare to the dinner we have throught Shikoku. Still, I highly recommend to try the Japanese-style course The Manna provided.
This is an old hotel in the suburbs of Kochi. It is the tallest building in the area at a glance. It is located on the banks of the Niyodo River and has a very good environment. The equipment looked old, there were small bugs on the tatami, and there were many small flying insect bodies in the open-air hot spring, but I didn't find it too disgusting, haha. The dinner set is delicious, and there is also Dandan noodles for midnight snacks.
Excellent location with shopping stores and restaurants nearby.A heated room with windows that can be opened is a big plus. The man at the front desk speaks really good English!Very close to the famous wild eel restaurant.

GGuest UserWe had the most amazing time at Sodayama Onzen. It is a very special place to relax and unwind. Our room had a private onsen overloooking a stream in the forest. The rooms were very spacious and clean. We also enjoyed the amazing food! It was a very special experience but way too much, especially in the mornings. But it was a great experience of fine Japanese cuisine. The staff was so friendly, communication with google translate helped.

Llay_cThe view of the river view room is very beautiful. There are many different dinner set options on the official website. The set meal included in the Ctrip order cannot be selected (the main dish is stewed pork in a casserole \ other side dishes should be similar in each set), so I also ordered the 40,000 steak, which is very recommended ! This hotel usually gets off at Kawasaki and walks for about 30 minutes, but the route instructions are not very clear. It is best to call the hotel in advance to make an appointment to pick up the car (free \ English communication is also available). If possible, I will stay for 2 days next time, so that one day I can rent a bicycle to circle the Shimanto River
GGuest UserThere is bus stop right outside the hotel. The free dinner and breakfast were great. The facilities are useful. Not far away from the main look-out.
