So I had an issue or two yet I am still going to give this hotel a great review. Why? Simply out the staff. The manager Carlin Holness stepped up and calmed me down when my credit card wouldn't work. International card more than able to take the cost by the way. My sister tan into the same issue at this hotel on another occasion. It happens sometimes when traveling so who knows? Anyway she calmed me down and sorted me out and in 10 minutes I was happily set up in my room. I had a few issues with ny keycard an access to the room and she had someone on it in 5 minutes to fix it. Both he and housekeeping were incredibly pleasant as was everyone else from the security to the ladies serving at the bistro. Customer service at this place is 10/10 starting with Ms Holness. The beds were comfy, the room had a fridge which is always a plus. Tv allows you to watch cable or plug in to watch your own netflix or amazon prime. I didn't use the fitness centre but it had good equipment. A wedding and some other events were going on while I was there and it was not in the least disturbing regarding people, elevator access or noise. Very well managed. They have food available cooked to order most of the day as well as a little convenience store in the lobby for emergency essentials pr snacks. I had meant to ask if a microwave is available but forgot as they have foods in there that can be heated up. Overall excellent sleep, great shower and shower products were lovely!!! Waterbury was a stop over for me and the hotel made it an enjoyable comfortable stay.

The last time I stayed at this hotel was in June when I had an appointment at a nearby medical building. At that time, I had difficulty showering in the morning because the lower border of the shower directed water out into the hotel room instead of back into the shower. I used every towel in the bathroom to try to mop up the mess on the bathroom floor and ran to keep my appointment. As I approached the room where my appointment was, I heard another woman explaining that she was late because of the same problem with the shower in her hotel room. When visiting the hotel this week, I was happy to see that the bathroom was remodeled with a sturdy class door leading to the shower. Unfortunately this time I struggled with water temperature and finally resorted to taking a lukewarm shower. The front desk sent a man to look at the hot water problem and her suggested that I run the water for 5 to 10 minutes before showering. The problems with showering are unfortunate because this is a lovely hotel, clean, nicely decorated, comfortable, and quiet. The staff are polite and ready to help. Since I am visiting the area for medical appointments, it is important that I bathe before the appointments and this has been a bit of a problem during my two stays at this hotel. I would try staying at this hotel one more time because I believe it has the potential to be a hotel deserving of a higher rating.

I have stayed at this property multiple times since 2019. It is not as nice as the Courtyard across the street but - usually - slightly better value for money. I had a stay of twelve (12) nights this time. On the 11th night, thieves cut the catalytic converter out of my car, which was parked in the lighted hotel parking lot. Upon discovering this had happened, I paid the $550 for an off-market replacement (dealer part was $1500), taking time off work to: (a) discover and figure out the problem and (b) find a place to do the repair. When originally notified, the hotel staff on duty said the hotel is not liable for property damage to cars (per a posted sign on the parking lot). The property also doesn’t have cameras nor a large number of lights so - clearly - this property is not interested in monitoring the lot on behalf of its guests to keep them and their cars safe. As a Bonvoy Ambassador level guest with ＞170 nights this year alone, I asked the front desk staff to have Jennifer - property manager - contact me to discuss. Jennifer called the following day and said that I would need to file a police report so she could then file an insurance claim etc. on her side. Curiously, she did not seem terribly apologetic that this had occurred. Her emphasis, instead, was that she needed “proof” the incident had occurred and I must file a police report. I explained to her that not only did I have the $550 invoice plus date stamped photos but that - after spending my own time off work to get my car fixed yesterday - I wasn’t going to spend additional personal time filing a police report so she could then spend weeks working on it with their insurer to see if there was some compensation Marriott may offer. I asked for her to simply credit 2 nights off my stay (approximately $220) - less than 50% of the money I paid to repair my car's damage. This request - again - on the back of a twelve (12) night stay that I was just wrapping up seemed fairly reasonable to me and something that Jennifer should have in her approval as Property Manager. Instead, she said she didn’t think that was possible and it would require her to speak to her regional manager. I haven’t heard back which means, I suspect, she will not do anything. So, a few thoughts on this property: I strongly urge you not to stay here if you have any worries about car damage or safety. I don't drive an expensive car (Acura) so it is not like thieves targeted a Mercedes Benz or other high end vehicle. Without cameras or security, your car is not safe as I have discovered. There are some lights in the parking lot but it is relatively dark in many places. The property - when incidents occur - is not interested in solving a situation for a customer (even someone who has stayed for 12 nights in a row and multiple times prior) Jennifer has no interest in actually handling customer issues, even as Manager of the property. Before contacting me about this issue, she hadn’t bothered

The only reason I put 1 star was because there wasn't a zero star option. My Wife and I stayed 1 night here just to rest our heads for the night, while we were on the way to Maine for work. We had just laid our head down at 3am and all of a sudden there's screaming and human growling and items being thrown coming from the man across the hall from our room. it sounded like appliances being thrown at the door and walls. We were scared, not gonna lie, of the clearly mentally unstable and aggressive person across the hall. We called the front desk from our room to see if the kid working up front could get him to stop or call the police. IT WAS THAT BAD!!! The Kid at the front didn't want to do anything and then stated, ”he is in his room that he paid for, I cant do anything about what he's doing in there.” Even though THEIR MOTEL ROOM WAS BEING DESTROYED!!!! We requested to move rooms if he wasn't going to do anything about it. He changed our room, after he urged that our last room was the very last room available for that night. So we thought it was odd immediately when a room just suddenly became available. So when we wake up today, the same motel is trying to charge my card $500 it was declined. Then another attempt of $400. We called the Motel and said it was a mistake. our room was only $91.99 not $500 and not $400. The Manager then said that we were in the room that got destroyed and I told him that we were in the room across the hall and I have the receipt to prove it. He then started calling My wife ”a F******g B**** and that he's going to get his money for his motel damages because we demolished the room.” I called Corporate to file a claim and dispute, and the associate even saw in their system that the SLIMEY WORKERS at this Motel 6 Changed our room number after we checked out of our room. HE CHANGED OUR ROOM NUMBER TO THE DEMOLISHED ROOM NUMBER AFTER WE CHECKED OUT!!!!!!!!!! So they are in the process of getting it disputed. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! YOU WILL BE SCAMMED. IF YOU DO STAY HERE, MAKE SURE YOU PAY CASH OR ELSE THEY WILL WRONGFULLY CHARGE YOUR CARD IF YOU DO NEED TO STAY HERE. THE POLICE WILL NOT DO ANYTHING BECAUSE IT IS A ”CIVIL MATTER”

The environment is good, the price is right, the location is also good, go to eat a lot, you can see Yale University

The breakfast is complete with meat, egg, milk, convenient parking, and the kitchen is complete with tableware and kitchenware, which is great for cooking! Equipped with a small gym, treadmill, elliptical machine and bicycle each.

The location of the shop is beautiful, the room is clean and tidy, the service is professional and there are many parking spaces. There is free coffee and bag tea in the lobby. Breakfast is close to 50 knives, a bit expensive. Also close to Bradley Airport. I heard that there is a pick-up

I was really surprised when I entered the room. The room is super large, small suite, with a large sofa, it is suitable for 5 people, the only small regret is that the air conditioner is old-fashioned, slow in response, and a bit noisy.

My trip was short and there was not enough time to properly explore all the things that Baymont had to offer to its guests.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It would have been nice to see more vegan options at the continental breakfast, besides fruit. The worse part was the shuttle service. Always ＞ 1 hour late or just didn’t show up at all. Even if the Hyatt is not in control of the shuttle service, not setting a standard, or getting rid of the service all together if they cannot meet that standard, is not a great look for the hotel. But, I will gladly go back. I’ll just rent a car next time. 😉

Some pros and cons Spacious Room (stayed in a double queen suite with pull out couch). Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Overall, facility and room was very clean. Good value for the cost. The facility felt safe. Security went through the parking lot slowly down each row at night (twice that I saw.) However, the pool was disgusting. The water was foggy to the point you couldn't see the bottom step. There were several chunks of hair floating in the pool and a straw. (Big bummer since we traveled with kids to a place specifically with a pool.) The room itself was big but had a stuffy, mildew smell. Since none of the windows open there was no way to air it out. The odor was strong enough to wake me up a few times in the middle of the night. The view of the parking lot and dumpster leave something to be desired but it your just looking for a place to rest, no biggie. The rooms with odd numbers have a view of a pretty building.

The bed is large, suitable for children, no extra bed, convenient parking, breakfast is almost the same abroad, it took a long time to write a review, many things are not clear.

I stayed for one night in mid September. Let me say the good thing first. Front desk is very friendly, the room is big, the bedsheet is clean. And the best is the hot water is abundant and strong, so I had a wonderful shower. However, the place is beat down. The service is completely barebone. One of the two elevators was broken during my stay. And it is highly secured. Cannot get in without card key 7/24. If you are a man or a group of men traveling rough, it is a place. The concern is that there are always a group of people hanging around in the front door, around the parking lot. And it seems some occupants are with little kids. Not sure if the motel is rented out for longer term under government programs. The surrounding areas have a number of government agencies. If you travel as a family, this definitely not your choice.

Spent an overnight in this fabulous, luxury hotel with all the elegant amenities one would expect in an expensive New York hotel. World class art in the lobby made the entrance to the hotel an eye-popping beginning to stay. Room was exceptionally comfortable and noise free in spite of being downtown and on a corner. Bed linens were impeccable and soft, bathtub was big enough for two, staff were kind and friendly. The Artisan Restaurant downstairs in the hotel for dinner was exceptional and Delmar breakfast was served there in the morning which was a delight. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone wanting a resort like experience without having to travel far to achieve the Zen like feeling!

Very sad representation of sheraton. Got a room, got in. Unpacked. After some time went to heat some water for tea and the cold water leveler did not work. It was NOT attached to the whole faucet. That means its only scorching hot water for face and hand washing and nothing else. No tea no water. I called to the front desk. The young lady said ” oh yeah, its not broken you just have to wiggle it the right way”. I said sure hung up amd went to wiggle it some. After carefully playing with the cold water leveler bending down under the sink to try to see whats really up I decided thats not ok. I went back to calling front desk again. Nobody picked up. I called again. Finally a nice gentleman picks up. I explain the whole sotry again from the start he says he will send a maintanance man to check. 10-15 minutes passes, nobody comes. Im tired, hungry, dirty, cranky so is my travel buddy. I grab my keycard. I go downstairs. I meet that nice gentleman and explain the issue and ask for a new room. He gives me the new room card. I go up, start repacking my suitcases to move. Mid packing maintanance man shows up, suprised there is an issue. He grabs the leveler and says ” oh ok, its broken” no sh*t. We move to new room. Smells nasty, like somebody was smoking in it for the past week 24/7. I let it go. I turn the water on and the cold water was not cold it was at best luke warm...yes i had to drink it as there were no stores around so had to make do with what i had. The sheets were nasty, please take a look at the ”comforter/blanket” it will speak for itself. Sheraton aint the same.. pitty

The hotel is on the roadside, there is free parking, the room is large, the facilities inside the hotel are complete and relatively new, and the front desk is friendly! Coffee and hot water are available throughout the day, and breakfast is rich in varieties: juice, coffee, hot water, cereal, bacon, salad, bread, yogurt, milk, desserts, etc.... It is worth mentioning that there is accommodation on the first floor of the hotel The washing machine and dryer used by the customers cost 3 dollars each, but the drying effect is not good, and they are all wet when taken out. There is a Chinese restaurant nearby, a 10-minute walk away, it tastes very good! All in all this hotel is worth recommending!

This place is good for a couple day business trip. And as long as u eat out every day. Nice room but for the money u pay I wanted more. Had to get a cooler n electric frying pan so we had food. I do like the card system to get in the elevator.

We stayed here for 2 nights as this was the hotel associated with an event we were attending in the area. The property was attractive and clean. Our room was clean with comfortable beds and pillows. The fridge was not turned on when we arrived, so the inside was sopping wet. We mopped it out with a towel then plugged it in,...it continued to drip inside. We were promised a new one, but did not get it. My biggest complaint was the wifi.....it was horrible! The wifi was not as bad during the day, but in the evening, I could not stay connected for more than a few minutes at a time. The desk staff (Eric and Amy) were very nice, and tried to help, but the wifi signal for the hotel is just junk! There was a hot breakfast, of which the little warm cinnamon buns were the best. One morning we had to wait for regular coffee to be made and the trash always seemed to be full and overflowing. We had trouble getting towels to replace the ones we used to sop up the fridge. Overall, this place was pretty good. With a few small changes, it could be a lot better.

There is a parking lot. On the highway side, it is convenient to get in and out of the highway. The breakfast is quite satisfactory. There is free coffee and tea in the lobby for 24 hours. The room is very good. There is a sofa bed.

The Hotel Marcel was quite Modern and very aesthetically pleasing! Upon arrival, I could tell this hotel was full of charm and personality. I especially enjoyed my stay in a corner suite with a King bed. The bathroom was very luxurious and I felt as though it was something out of a magazine. Overall, my stay was very comfortable and affordable. If I had one gripe it would be that the interior of the room was very dim in lighting even when the lights were fully on (touch censored lighting was available). I wish more light was able to be in the room.

The Graduate at New Haven has a great friendly professional staff team who were courteous and helpful. Everything is kept very clean and efficiently run. Be aware that there is no restaurant in the hotel, only a cafe. That is probably the only drawback, but there are plenty of other places to eat located very close by.

I just returned from spending 2 of my free night awards. Many hotels will assign the worst room when paying this way and this was definitely not the case here. Due to all the negative reviews I read, I was a bit nervous and called the hotel and spoke to a couple of people. They were very honest about what to expect. In fact, although it could use an update, the room was just fine (and I'm picky) and totally immaculate. I had white socks on and my socks were just as white walking around the room. Actually, I was shocked that it was so clean and there wasn't a speck of dust anywhere. Now to the best part, the staff. They are wonderful and extremely friendly and helpful. There never was a shortage of staff either. Every person I encountered had a smile on their face and couldn't be happier to help. I enjoyed just chatting with them. I only gave the Courtyard 4 stars instead of 5 because the rooms are not that large , they charge for parking and basic toiletries are provided. We found the location convenient for walking around during both day and evening. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful hotel in downtown New Haven with a comfortable modern decor. It has the best location for access to a large variety of amazing restaurants that are either around the block from the hotel or a block or two from the hotel. An easy 5-minute or less walk up High St. will get you to Starbucks and Atticus, which is a great place to get breakfast or lunch (from 11 a.m.). All the rooms have a gallery-style kitchenette that includes pots and pans, silverware for 4, plates, bowls, glasses, a microwave, 2-burner glass cooktop, and a small refrigerator, which, although can keep items very cold, unfortunately cannot keep ice cream frozen. The bed is firm but its surface is softened by the addition of a plush mattress pad. Each room has a desk with chair, a small sofa bed with otoman, 6-drawer dresser, and a mirrored hanging armoire, which contains a small safe and extra drawers. Interestingly right next to the entryway, there is a recessed coat hanging hooks whose base is large enough to accommodate my Travelpro Platinum carry-on 4-wheel suitcase. The king room is very spacious. The bathroom has a large amount of counter space flanking the single sink as well as a huge amount of storage under the vanity top. A small hairdryer, iron, and ironing board, like most hotels, are also provided. The walk-in shower offers very good water pressure from a shower head, adjustable from soft spray to pulsing jets of water. Both the room and bathroom are covered by an engineered wood floor, which is softer and less cold underfoot. This hotel also has one of the best equipped gyms. Not only is the gym spacious but provides a great variety of workouts accessible via LCD screens. A side mirrored room contains 3 spin cycles and enough space for other types of exercises, e.g., mat Pilates, Step aerobics, and TRX straps workouts. Thick mats, a Bosu ball, and styrofoam rollers are also furnished. The hotel not only makes a great base to explore downtown New Haven but also Yale University and Yale Medical School. Its location puts you in the heart of downtown New Haven large collection of downtown eateries, all within a short walking distance of the hotel, some, like Jack's, Pacifico, Bar Pizza, and South Bay are essentially less than a block from the hotel. Courteous staff makes checking in and out a breeze.
