Xurshidabonu Guest House

Location: about 750 m from the Old City. Check in was fast, the personnel have limited English proficiency however will try to help you with a cell phone translator. The guest house has 5 rooms. The rooms are big, with bathroom. No teapot to boil water. However, upon request they will bring you hot tea to your room. The dinning room was spectacular: low table and sitting on a cushion, but the decoration is very sophisticated. The breakfast is abundant includin cottage cheese, sour cream and cherries (to mis together, I learned), manti or samsa, egg, salad (tomato and cucumber), cold cuts and cheese, pastries including baklava, preserved figs, bread, tea, fresh fruit (cherries, peaches, plums and apples). I could not finish it so I would save the leftovers to eat later... I wish I have stayed longer. Remember that Khiva is a little out of the way from the axis Tashkent, Samarkanda and Bukhara. Be aware that Yandex does not work in Khiva, so the taxis are more expensive.

The location of the hotel is excellent. In the inner city of Shiva, the main attractions can be seen from the hotel window. You can go back to the hotel to rest at any time during the tour. You can stroll around the ancient city in the morning and evening when there are less people. The hotel facilities are comfortable and the breakfast is rich. We provide paid Urgench airport pick-up service and paid Khiva station drop-off service. You can make an appointment with the hotel by email. The service attitude is very good. I recommend this hotel to friends visiting Khiva. Please note that the hot water in the shower needs to be left for a long time, and there are no toothbrushes or bottled water.

We traveled through Khiva in winter and were warmly welcomed by the family who run this hotel. Although they were in renovations, they had 3 rooms available of which two we occupied. The staff are more than friendly and advised us on where to go in Khiva and outside of it. They organise their own tours with professional drivers (non-english speaking, but kind) and were able to answer all questions we had about the area of Khorezm. Would definitely recommend staying here when in Khiva!

This place is away from the touristy part and needs a lot of work. It wasn't very busy when we were there and seemed to be run by inexperienced children or unmotivated staff. On the second night of our stay, one of the ”boys” recommended a restaurant, came on the free shuttle with us and expected to sit at our table and be offered dinner. Room and bathroom were ok but dated. Swimming pool is used by people from outside the hotel and by hotel staff themselves. Pool bar is there, but the staff seem to help themselves to drinks more than selling them to paying guests. The manager was kind and helpful and smiley, but I doubt that he has been trained to be a hotel manager. Until he gets things under control, I'm afraid I have to conclude that there are probably more memorable options around for people who fly halfway around the world to visit a fantastic place like Khiva.

Situated inside the walled city - where else would you want to be? Walk outside and walk in history. Clean secure room but you make your bed when you get there. Easy walk to excellent restaurants. The manager can arrange car and driver for day tour. Not a tour guide - a driver plus you pay entry fees (cheap but not explained) Stop for lunch was terrible - served raw chicken - take your own lunch or enjoy a big dinner.

It is about 5 minutes walk from the west gate of Ichankara. It is convenient to the west gate if you are not concerned with staying in Ichankara. It was a hotel full of family-run hospitality. The hotel was clean to change to shoes, and the room was clean and comfortable. At breakfast, my eldest son's boy taught me how to eat delicious food. In addition, this owner also has a travel agency, and I had a taxi to Bukhara via the owner's recommended Ayazukara. I didn't have much time in Ayazukara because I left Hiba after 15:00, but the sunset over the desert seen from Ayazukara was difficult to change. I would like to stay again when I go to Hiba.
