We attended a party in the lounge below the hotel, which made it the perfect location for our stay. We booked directly through their website, and the one-night stay cost CHF 233.00 (approximately EUR 250.00), which isn't exactly cheap. Upon check-in, the reception staff was very friendly. The room itself was spacious and impeccably clean, though we found the interior design somewhat cold - but that's just our personal taste. The room had everything we needed, except for a minibar. However, the complimentary Nespresso capsules and coffee machine were a nice touch. The view from our room was underwhelming, as it faced another building. After a great party, we were looking forward to an equally great breakfast, especially considering the price we paid. Unfortunately, the breakfast fell short of our expectations. The selection was limited, and the overall quality felt lackluster. The bacon, in particular, didn’t look appetizing, and the buffet lacked variety. There was one staff member who appeared occasionally, asking for our room number, but seemed a bit demotivated. We’ve stayed at hotels that charge much less per night and offer more warmth, better selection, and superior quality. Although Switzerland is home to some of the world's top hotel management schools, we often feel that hotels abroad have a better grasp of what guests expect. There are certainly exceptions, but unfortunately, Hotel Kettenbruecke is not one of them.
