Nice Japanese hotel. Location off the net walk JR station by bus about 20 minutes. The hotel is rather old but overall is good, the staff service attitude is very good, dinner has a whole hichi time to eat, good morning ok! At this price, very worth it! 👍👍👍

The breakfast and dinner for one stay and two meals are great! The public baths are also very clean! However, the corridor in the room smelled of oily smoke, and the windows in the room could not be opened, making it impossible to enjoy the cool summer air. It was a pity!

It's far from the station, but they provided transportation, which was very helpful. The outside of the inn is old, but the inside has been renovated and is clean. The food was also delicious.

Booked a room with a private bath for two nights, it was great, this is my second time here, the first time was 5 years ago, although it has been through the pandemic, everything is well maintained and the food is still as great.

Maybe it was because I made the reservation on a day when the price was cheaper than usual, and I thought the passage leading to the room was a staircase for employees.
It was cluttered, and the dining area was really cheap for guests! In a separate room at the far end where you can feel like you're being treated like you're the only one there
I felt like I was treated poorly.
There were children, so no one else was there, so I didn't cause any trouble, so I think it would have been better to have a separate room, but even the chairs and tables were different.
Also, there was a hot spring, but the floor in the dressing room was very dirty, so I couldn't take my child with me and I couldn't take a bath.
Also, the room was on the second floor with only stairs, and when I saw an elderly person in a wheelchair climbing up and down with a cane, I thought I should have told them when I made the reservation.
I heard that the food at this ryokan is delicious, but considering the price, what do you think about it overall? I think

I'm surprised this hotel hasn't been reviewed on TripAddvisor in 6 years, but we had a lovely 3-night experience at Kagariya. Highlights: 1) Food. We had breakfast and dinner included in our stay. Everything was fresh and in nice quantities. Highlights include the local Abishiri milk (it must have come from the cow that morning), corn tempura (seemingly very local), snow crab, and abalone. 2) Service / hospitality. We felt incredibly welcome by the entire staff. From check-in to service at breakfast and dinner, we felt well taken care of. The hotel front desk gave us band-aids when we needed it, helped re-stock the towels for the onsen, etc. 3) Proximity. We rented a car and drove to Shiretoko National Park (1.5 hours). It was a straight-shot and such an easy day trip. We also took a day trip to Lake Akan / Akan National Park, which was the same distance. 4) Onsen. We had the onsen to ourselves every time. It was one pool that was quite hot. Hours were not an issue. I wish we had more products (e.g., lotion) but otherwise we felt like it was fine experience with a nice view of the lake. We recognize this isn't a five-star hotel by any means, but we had a lovely time and it was a great base to explore eastern Hokkaido. Highly recommend if you want to explore Shiretoko or Akan and have good value for your money.
