Hotel Y Parque Acuático la Caldera

No easy access from the main highway ( carretera ) or to go to the little town you have to get out of the premises and drive around the very heavy highway to go there,,even when there's only one wall dividing the property, the room smells like a rotten egg,we asked to be moved to a different room..

The waterpark is humungous, more than what I expected. The jacuzzi was just the right temp.

Advertised as a water park however closed during the week only open on weekends. Not close to dining options and food at hotel was bland and overpriced. However the pools at the hotel were heated but jacuzzi jets on a timer.

If you wanna weekend only for your family the perfect place.

Everything was excelllent.

They were all very kind and gave us very good attention.

The park and attractions are great and the family had a great time during daily activities. At night however, that's when the nightmare began. First, when we walked into the room to leave the luggage (around 18:00 hrs. local time) we noticed that there were a LOT of mosquitoes in the room; the room was also extremely hot (32 deg. C). So I turned the AC on to cool the room and learned that the AC did not work. When we returned to the room two hrs. later, we were not just accosted by the 100ds of mosquitoes but were sweating our butts of due to the heat. Called management to see what could be done, get another room or something; but we were told there was nothing they could do. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

My visit was one of nostalgia -- the property (pools and room) needed updating, but were clean. Staf could have provided a warmer reception. Visiting from the US, we did not know about the holidays and one entire day, hourly, we heard fireworks going off. I was there mainly to visit Abasolo, but they did not have a local map -- I relied on social media for places off site to eat lunch and dinner.
