Just a lovely, lovely stay. Staff very warm and welcoming (special shout out to Cass and Tony!). Room was very comfortable and oh so quiet. Lots of shelf and drawer space. We had dinner here the first night. It was an evening long affair and we felt very pampered: drinks and nibbles in the drawing room, dinner in the dining room, and then a nice finish with coffee/tea back in the drawing room. Food was wonderfully prepared. Pace of meal was perfect.

Afternoon Tea was fabulous. Beautifully made sandwiches, lovely home baked scones and absolutely fabulous patisserie. Staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive without being overly attentive. Hotel was so nice, easy parking and beautiful grounds. Will definitely book again and can recommend.

Hotel did an excellent job in helping us host a service to celebrate the life of a relative. The ballroom was set up beautifully, the staff were attentive but unobtrusive. Particular thanks to Lee who was kind, compassionate and helpful, and to the barman who helped us with the technical difficulties. The attention to detail, communication, and caring manner we experienced from all staff involved was a great help to us on what was a difficult day.

Das Personal im Marcliffe ist wirklich 5* Die Zimmer sind nicht ganz so wie auf der Homepage. In der Bar und im Restaurant ist alles hervorragend. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist reichhaltig und die frisch zubereiten Speisen sind sehr gut. Preis/Leistung im Restaurant ist ausgezeichnet

My friend and I went for Afternoon Tea in May 2024. The choice was excellent - I am Gluten Free and have other dietary problems but the staff were very helpful. The Service was superb. A wonderful experience. I would definitely go again in the future.

Booked an overnight for ourselves, son, daughter and their partners in early May. As always, we just love the experience of The Marcliffe: from enjoying drinks in the cosy drawing room to the fabulous dinner and service in the restaurant. Special shout out to Asia in the drawing room bar and Shannen in the restaurant who guided our gluten & dairy free guests through the menu with ease and confidence. Food & service 10/10. We all looked forward to the breakfast, which we’ve raved about after previous visits, but on this occasion the quality wasn’t up to the usual standard resulting in 5 out of 6 disappointed. After speaking to management we understand the issue and look forward to our next breakfast when we stay in summer.

We held a private birthday party for 27 guests in the Invery Room. The set up of the room, pre-drinks, quality of the food and services were all absolutely outstanding. Sincere thanks to all !
