A very basic hotel but clean. No fuss nor frills and if all you need is an economical hotel, this Holiday Inn is sufficient.
A complaint though - we had accidentally left a portable car boot cover on the side street where our car was parked, in front of the hotel as we were trying to pack in our luggages.
When we realised that we had left it behind, we called the concierge of Holiday Inn to inform them and if they could keep it aside for us to arrange a pick up. They informed us that indeed they had found it and kept it.
However, when our friend arrived at the hotel that same afternoon to collect it, he found it thrown into a dumpster near the hotel.
Regretfully, this incident has shed a bad light on the hotel and certainly leaves a question mark on its reliability.

My friends and I have just returned from this hotel which was chosen by Caledonian Travel as the destination of our mystery tour. The photos advertising the hotel bear no resemblance to the reality. To say it is rundown would be a complete understatement. It is a tip and should not be allowed to operate. There are far superior hostels! The smell of dampness is pervasive, the views from our rooms were of a derelict area and I fully expected rats to be running around, the rooms are not clean, nothing has been updated for decades, the food is mediocre at best...the list goes on. After an hour in the dining room, we were asked to vacate our seats because there were so many other guests. A woman on our trip went to reception to say that, before they had arrived, the hot tap had been left on in their room and had flooded the bedroom floor. She was told that there was no other room available and nobody could help her: she was given towels to mop it up. Furthermore, unless you take a taxi the 4 miles into Aberdeen, there is nothing else to do but sit in this dire place. We went to a nearby pub where the atmosphere felt threatening so we left. We later heard that the barman in the Britannia had warned someone else about going there. On a positive note, the staff were lovely and had to deal with lots of complaints but, I'm afraid, they had no solutions. I have stayed in many, many hotels but have never experienced anything quite like the Britannia. Avoid!!!

Lovely country house hotel on the southern edge of Aberdeen with easy access to city.
Welcoming hotel with a very traditional feel in the main building. Bedrooms are modern and our Standard room was well equipped with a large double bed and plenty of tea coffee etc. The hotel is dog friendly for a small charge. We had lovely cooked breakfasts and continental also available. We ate breakfast in the drawing room, as dogs understandably not allowed in main restaurant. We only ate in the bar area one evening which was cosy and fast service. Friendly staff and nice touch of a Birthday platter delivered to room in recognition of a significant Birthday being celebrated.

I’m a regular traveller and had started to stay at this hotel every month but I was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. Especially with the COVID pandemic going on. The carpet was full of crumbs, the large shower towel was stained, there were finger prints on door handles and toilet flush (showing it hadn’t been cleaned). I never complained and cleaned it all down myself as I was too tired and couldn’t be bothered to move rooms. But I have opted to stay at a different hotel for my next stay in a few weeks time.

Had the worse caesar salad half a salmon fillet and not alot of salad and for £19 so it's poor. The menu in these hotels are poor and very very expensive for what you are getting. I think it's lazy and boring and wanting to take alot of money off the customer for very poor and under portioned food. If it wasn't for the fact I have to stay here through my work I wouldn't. But I will be writing to my company and sending them a photo of my food to show them how much we and them are being ripped off compared to the other hotels in the Dyce area.

GGuest UserThe whole atmosphere was relaxing and the rooms were fantastic. Great friendly staff, great food. The beds were super comfy and those pillows were so comfy. I asked the staff where I could buy them from unfortunately he didn’t know it that’s okay. Would defiantly come back again. Thanks for making the whole trip relaxing Lynn craig
GGEThe small sink is so cute! !! If you catch a flight the next day, it is a good choice for classmates and parents. A 10-minute walk from the hotel to the airport is very convenient, and you can get up late in the morning.
[Location] The hotel is next to Aberdeen Airport, 10 minutes away. If you enter the city, take a taxi: 01224 494949, which is about 15-20 pounds. The bus is also very convenient. It takes 727 to walk for 3 minutes, and the one-way fare is 3.5 pounds.
[Health] Very clean hotel
[Value for money] High value for money, newer equipment, the cheapest Courtyard hotel in the UK is 600 yuan a night (may be slightly more expensive in November, winter and summer)
[wifi] Wi-Fi is free
[Room size] The room size is normal, not big, but not small. Two people will not feel crowded when staying. Better than too many European Hiltons.
[Parking] You can park downstairs
[Service] The ladies at the front desk are so warm and tender that they can melt into their sweet smiles. When you stay in Scotland for a long time, you will have a glass heart. Because the Scottish people are too enthusiastic, London will not, and the front desk will not answer (not for the Chinese but for everyone).
GGuest UserClean hotel with nice big rooms and great facilities, the microwave and fridge were great added extras. My husband has a weird obsession with showers so he loved the rain shower haha. The staff we dealt with were all very friendly too. We will definitely be back again.
GGuest UserAfter a terrible coach journey from Sheffield I was welcomed by Steve after midnight. My breakfast order was taken and I was shown to my single room No5 on the ground floor. The room was small with single bed, hanging space, draws, hairdryer, kettle & tv. The bed was very comfortable and the curtains blocked out the light. I was woken by a rattling room door. I shoved a chair against it to stop it. I heard no road noise. The shared loo & shower room was shabby but the shower was powerful hot & clean. I had clean towels everyday. Breakfast was lovely but basic (no baked beans or sausage) cheese omelet was delicious. I had fresh orange and coffee. Steve was lovely and friendly and chatted every morning. I bought a weekly bus pass and explored Aberdeen all week from this great base and will return. With a little TLC to replace light bulbs & rusty radiators i would have given 5 stars. All in all a lovely traditional B&B
BBrownRecently stayed overnight for a wedding we were attending at the hotel. Staff were very attentive and welcoming. We received a free upgrade and the rooms were spotless.
Breakfast the following morning was more than adequate with the option of a full scottish along with an array of food for a continental breakfast.
I would have no hesitation staying at Norwood Hall again
GGuest UserWe had the most wonderful holistic facial treatment and bank massage. Nikki and Leanne are just lovely and very very good at what they do. From the moment we arrived we felt welcome, relaxed and in safe hands! One of the best Spa Treatments we have ever had. Thank you Nikki and Leanne! Note: It is a small spa with treatment rooms and relaxation rooms however there isn’t a pool, sauna, hot tub etc. We were aware of this before we got there so not a problem for us but just putting this here for info for others because we found it hard to find this information on the website.
We booked the Standard one bedroom apartment. It was on the 3rd and highest floor. Bear in mind there’s no lift so be prepare to walk up 40 stairs to the apartment. It’s not too tough but if you’re carrying heavy luggage like me, it was quite a climb. The apartment was cosy and has a bedroom with a queen size bed, a living room with a TV, dining table & sofa bed, en-suite bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave oven, kettle and even a washing machine. We had a good sleep. Union Square shopping mall and the attached Aberdeen train station and bus terminal are about 5-10 minutes walk. There’s a shortcut from behind the apartment and walk down a flight of steps at Bridge Street. Cross the road and soon you will reach the train station. Check in and out using the key box located at the building entrance. I took bus 727 from Aberdeen Airport to Union Square bus terminal. And took bus 5 to Music Hall stop (3 stops). Walk back where the bus drove past, towards Crown Street. Turn into Crown Street and look for number 77 and you will reach Crown Central Apartment. Hope this helps.
GGuest UserBooked this hotel whilst on a business trip to Aberdeen and usually like the Village hotel brand. The hotel itself is a modern village style hotel. We arrived late on a Sunday evening and the first experience with a staff member on reception wasn't great and a really abrupt check in. Was allocated a room on the first floor, 123. The room itself was nicely decorated and perfectly adequate. The issue came at 5:30am the next morning when incredibly loud bangs and noises were heard in the room. I thought it coild just be another guest above me getting up, but these noises continued and got louder. Then I looked at some reviews and realised I was right above the gym and multiple guest had suffered the same misfortune. The view from the window was also nonexistent and looked out directly on a small gravel area and then another wall. Hardly a great view of Aberdeen. The same staff member was on reception leading to a very unapologetic conversation regarding changing room for my final night. Was advised to sort when I returned in the evening. Thankfully a different staff member in the evening and the room was changed to a room on the 4th floor. Thankfully there was now a view, if you take out the huge gym roof. Hoping for no noise, I settled back down but then I woke at 6am and was still about to hear pumping music and the obvious sound of a gym instructor - from the 4th floor. I did have my window open for fresh air but even so - I was 4 floors up! Maybe it's an issue for all rooms facing the gym roof, not sure if the rooms the other side might have even better? Don't think I'll stay again!
KkaurEverything is very awesome. Fully cleaned room with all essential things. This is perfect hotel for staying . It just little far away from railway station but I really liked all the things. Really good.
This was a return visit within the week for an event as we so enjoyed first stay (rm15) . But we returned to (rm2) and we quite disappointed by a few things, so here we go. After a short time in getting ready to go out , we found the shower valves very loose on the wall ,but all still worked ok . Then no tiolet tissue/paper in the room , which was a bit frustrating as thought that would have been essential for arrival. Then having to go back up and out to front desk to request a supply of some sort . Staff were helpful and helped us out regards . On using the room door realised it would not close as there was a malfunctioning cover plate hanging off stopping door from closing , not wanting to return to front desk we just had to use the entry card to close the door properly bit of innovation needed. At one point later there are 2 very distinct black scuff marks on the cieling which could do with a cover up/paint . The next morning looking forward to having use to the coffee facilities we use before and good to have now was out of order / empty, complementary fruit bowl rather empty also and what left looking it had been there for way too long. On the whole from both visits could not have been more different. But will say the staff were very helpful in all issues so thanks to them , well done . Will we return , not sure.
