The Glengower

Very good

The food and customer service were disappointing. We ordered a chicken wrap and chips, but the chicken did not appear to be fully cooked. We raised this concern, but it did not seem to be communicated to the appropriate staff. When we mentioned it again, the response was dismissive, with staff simply shrugging their shoulders. The chips were poorly presented and the portion was very small. Overall, the food quality and handling of our complaint fell below a reasonable standard. Based on this experience, I would not recommend the restaurant.

Lovely pub with rooms above with the most amazing view. The Glengower is perfectly situated on the front in Aberystwyth and our sea view room could not have had a better view. We ate in the pub and the food was excellent and all staff were super friendly. Will definitely be returning

Ive been Glengower quite a few times and the food is tasty but it lacks vegetarian options. I met friends the other day for drinks and they were having food and I just fancied cheesy chips. Simple veggie option. I was told vehemently that that is not an option even though they sell portions of chips and have meals with cheese on. My friend ordered pudding and asked for a bit more custard, they said they might be able to do it, but at more cost. I dont know what the cost would have been as they just walked off. The food is nice but I cant help feeling that this wasn't necessary. We are locals and use these places in the winter and I know there are multiple places that serve what I wanted in Aber, but I just wanted a little veggie snack with friends. They do little goats cheese salads as starters, which are delicious, but are, in my opinion, pricey for how big they are so sometimes you want just a small, cheaper option.

This is an unpretentious yet stylish pub/guest house right on the sea front - first and second floor sea view rooms have lovely bay windows with a couple of armchairs and a table so you can sit and watch the stunning sunsets as you sip your evening drink. They are not large, but there's everything you need including sockets by the bed and the bedrooms and public areas are very clean. Breakfast is great, with plenty of choice. Service is friendly and efficient. I travel quite a lot for work and the Glengower is one of the nicest places I have stayed.

We had two meals here this week, I am allergic to all fish and really bad intolerance to onion and garlic. First visit I had ham, egg and chips, it was ok, but not very warm, this is the only thing on the menu in main meals I could have that hadn't got onion or garlic in. Second visit was really hard, I went in few hours early to pre warn and ask what I could have, all I could have was two starters, without some of the sauces with them and a bowl of chips. Again which weren't very warm. It is a nightmare for me eating out, some places will go out of their way to help, others just can't be bothered. Spent £130+ over the two meals and just a soft drink each, We won't be returning.

Lovely place with an amazing view and one of the best restaurant with moderate prices that you will find in the U.K.
