The wife and I took a three-day trip there last weekend and had a great time. It was such a great change of pace and scenery from our usual beach trip. The place has the feel of a miniature town, almost like you're in a Newhart episode (look it up if you're not old enough). We didn't do near what we wanted to in terms of activities but what we did take in, we enjoyed. The food was great. The staff - all over the place - were so accomodating it was embarrassing at times, and the ammenities were A-1. The room, golf course, the fishing ponds, everything! Oh, and we did have one little mixup where my wife's breakfast order at the Woodlands Grill (which is awesome, btw) got pretty mixed up. It was no big deal to us though and they straightened it out quickly. But the next day we were walking the property and one of the wait staff involved in the previous day's mixup spotted us. She had this gigantic smile on her face and greeted us warmly and then began to apologize for the mistake from the day before at breakfast. We had already forgotten about it and told her so. After some more pleasantries we parted ways. But later that evening when we were back in our room, this same lady had a bottle of wine sent to us with her apoplogies about the mistake at breakfast from the day before. Classy. I wish I could remember her name but I can't. Hopefully somebody from Barnsley reads this and points her to it. She made our day and made us permanent fans of Barnsley. I suggest you get there fast and take it slow. You'll probably see us there.
