Fantastic Hotel close to Addo Elephant Park
Fantastic and very tasteful hotel, they have a baggage trolley but no bellhop to assist so had to use the trolley to move all our baggage twice, other than that it was really nice, beautiful room, really well designed

Beware the Disclaimer!
The actual hotel is really very good and the rooms are outstanding. Nice grounds, nice pool and the food was also of a decent quality.
Now on a road trip around South Africa, you get used to warnings about safety and taking care of belongings. Here we were welcomed with a lengthy delivery on all the steps the hotel was taking and what in turn we needed to do, which even by SA standards appeared a bit alarming, so made you think the surrounding area must be a huge 'worry'. Then we were presented with a piece of paper to sign that absolved the hotel of all responsibility for any incident howsoever caused and went on so say, we were to indemnify the hotel should any incident arise. It was a total disclaimer!
I refused to sign. This was agreed, so I somewhat reluctantly stayed as trying to find an alternate at short notice near Addo would have been very difficult.

we have a group of 4 male friends who take vacations together every now & then. One of our must haves is our own rooms with en-suite (we are all in our 70s) Our plan was to drive to a B&B in the south of the park, drive through & overnight in the North, with a drive back to the South next day. We had been advised that the road out of the park to the North is dangerous, but we did not feel unsafe at any time. The area is very rural & at one stage we felt we may have taken a wrong turn. When we arrived at the hotel, we were really pleasantly surprised. The rooms are huge & well appointed. The bathrooms are generously proportioned & modern. The outside shower area was private & about the size of your average hotel room. Dinner & breakfast were great. No hesitation in recommending this hotel & their friendly staff.

Excellent conference venue, friendly staff and the food is magnificent. We stayed at Africanos for 3 nights. The duration of the conference was 3 days with 3 evening events. The conference venue was always clean and ready for the delegates with water. The refreshment breaks were on time and of an excellent standard. The same goes for the breakfast and lunch as well as the dinners. Africanos treated us with a braai and a cocktail function that was of a very high standard. They went out of their way to cater for guests with special meal requirements. The waiters are very well trained and all staff are friendly and helpful. I will certainly recommend this as a conference venue.

The hotel is highly recommended. We had a great bungalow with lots of space and the highlight of which was an outdoor shower. The staff were super friendly and the food in the restaurant left nothing to be desired. A few more vegetarian dishes would have been great. We will definitely come back when we travel to South Africa again. Thanks a lot!!!
