Cockroaches in the corridors, which is not a good sign when you check in and go to the room with the family. The AC of the initial room was not working, they changed the room and still no changes with the condition of the AC. The 2nd night they gave us a fan to bring the heat down. The breakfast was very basic, no eggs or hot items.

My/ours stay in Adelaide wasn’t as comfortable as I have hoped, especially with the  cooling issues. While the location was great for the event I mean to attend with my family, the noisy air conditioning and lack of proper ventilation have been frustrating. It’s good that the hotel staff tried to move us to another room, though it seems like the problem persisted. Hopefully, my next trip to Adelaide or elsewhere goes more smoothly!

This hotel is good if you just need a nice and clean room to stay. Nothing fancy. The window can only slightly open. The room is old but clean. The bathroom is good. The AC is old and only cools the room if it's not hot outside. There is a pedestal fan in the room that we used when the temperature hovered above 30C outside. There is no facility in the hotel. We didn't try breakfast because we didn't find it interesting.

Requires a renovation to make it lighter and brighter.  Lighting in the rooms is a bit gloomy, requiring an update.

The location of the hotel is fantastic- right across the road from Adelaide Railway Station and about 10 min walk from Rundle Mall. This was perfect for me because I visited Adelaide to watch a show at the Festival Theatre. The staff were very helpful when I left my wallet at home and didn’t have ID but still completed my check in with a passport scan I had on my phone. 24 hour check in is very helpful if you are checking in late or arriving early. However, the interior is a bit dated (cracks on ceiling, some residue next to the sink) and some of the furnishings feel a bit cheap (eg fan and kettle look like they’re from Kmart or another department store). If you’re happy with the basics then this is a great choice for a one night stay.

Location is good, in Adelaide CBD. Lots of restaurants, cafes bars and shops nearby. Room was modern, spacious and clean. The shower was small and leaked water onto the bathroom floor. There were plenty of power outlets in the room but the only one near the bedside table was used for the alarm clock and light. Not great if you want to charge a phone within reach of the bed. Reasonable value in such a central location.

I think this is quite an old hotel located at the central of adelaide. I love the location because it is just right beside the tram station. Behind this hotel has a lot of shops and restaurants. For halal option you can find some arabic restaurant or indian vegetarian cuisine along the road behind this hotel. The room that I booked included breakfast for 2. The breakfast is just simple but i am impressed because this is the first hotel that provide takeaway for those traveller that need on-the-go meal. Staff was really helpful and friendly. I noticed many elderly stayed at this hotel during our stay. It is really relaxing ambiance i already fall in love with Adelaide and this hotel. However please be reminded it is an old hotel ao some of the ammenities might not functioning well. My aircond was not so cold so they provided us with standing fan. And the shower door was broken but the fixed it immediately. Other than that everything was good. Definitely will stay again. P/s : Hotels in Adelaide are more expensive that Melbourne hehe.

The room and staff were great. However, there were sounds coming from the ceiling fan in the bathroom, sounds which very much seemed like there were rats up there.

Lovely staff. Rooms have some wear and tear that could be updated. No hot breakfast, grab and go option instead.

The hotel underwent a name change and re-branding into an economy hotel as of the 10th February 2021. We have permanently closed our restaurant down indefinitely; this was not a decision made lightly. We are now only offering a grab & go style continental breakfast served in biodegradable crockery and cutlery every morning that continues to serve toast, pastries, cereal, fruit, juice, tea and coffee. I am very sorry this isn't the breakfast you were hoping for, I will share your feedback with our management team.Overall, we sincerely hope your stay was comfortable and we do appreciate you sharing your concerns and honest feedback with us. Almost perfect. Except that only one lift was operating during my stay.

To help understand while hoping to add clarity to the situation of the hotel, the hotel was sold in 2018 and where it was the intention of the new owner to close and redevelop the hotel in 2021 but with the impact covid has had on the building industry this has been delayed until the end of this year. Recognising the condition of the hotel was not meeting the minimum brand standards of a Mercure and Ibis hotel and although still managed by Accor, at the beginning of 2021 a conscious decision was made to close the Ibis section while also removing the Mercure brand to then reposition it as an economy style offering thus return the hotel to its original name the Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide. There is certainly no denial that the hotel does require a complete redevelopment with perhaps the non-functioning guest lift being an example as to why. Unfortunately, having been installed 80 years ago, the main motor generator now requires a complete rebuild for which we are hopeful this will be completed and reinstalled at some stage in March/April.We appreciate you sharing your concerns, and it is our hope that you will give us the opportunity to better serve you in the near future.Sincerely,Courtney, Assistant Front Office Manager
