Elounda Bay Palace, a Member of the Leading Hotels of the World

Beach is small but very good , nice soft sand , protected from wind , transparent water. Buffet. One for breakfast and dinner looks like cantina with too many package tourists not a pleasant spending time there And that’s a real pity that the hotel doesn’t have only breakfast. Rooms with a mountain view are not having view at all only to the plants in front of hotels , all mountains are closed by the bushes , if you book this category of rooms ask for the highest floor

This was our 4th visit to Elounda Bay Palace, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming as always. We love this hotel and we were given an upgrade, as our previous booking was changed due to the rooms been refurbished. We were given a suite with a shared pool, which was a surprise. Lovely and clean, a bottle of wine with a bowl of fruit and local desserts on the table for us. The view was limited, but it was fine for the week stay. Our neighbours were happy to chat and we gave advice on the local area. We were on a half board basis, and the food was delicious and hot. A great selection of dishes available and really nice desserts too. The waiters & waitress were always there to help and we would have a nice chat with them during dinner. We only had water during our meals, and we already know about the cost of water so not an issue for us. We walked into Elounda every day to buy supplies. But unfortunately during our stay, there was a heatwave of 45c. So it was uncomfortable but we just took our time. Because of this, we hired a car for 2 days to take the strain of walking in the heat. There are plenty of sun beds available and the sea is a nice temperature. I did use the pool, which we had to share. I personally don’t like shared pools, not that I don’t like sharing, it’s just that because I am on the Autistic spectrum, I like my own pool. That aside, it was a really relaxing, fun, and enjoyable week away. We have booked for a week in early June 2025 for my birthday, again. So looking forward to an amazing time and seeing the beautiful Elounda and the staff of the Elounda Bay Palace.

The staff was very friendly and professional. The area around was beautiful. We had a pool which we shared with only one unit and an amazing view! Unfortunately, the room was quite outdated, and some things didn’t work the best. When we requested anything, it took a very unusual long time to get it or we would need to ask again after an hour or two. The food was great! We thoroughly enjoyed the buffet breakfast and dinner.

Nice hotel and beach area. Very clean and spacious inside. Breakfast was nice but didn't enjoy the evening buffet which comes with the booking if you want it or not. Drinks and restaurant food in the hotel very expensive. However there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby if you don't like an evening buffet or expensive drinks or meals.

Elounda Bay Palace The resort is truly five star and my stay included half board and was quite good. My ocean view suite was spacious and well appointed and maintained. The private sand beaches are quite nice there are four of them. The resort is very large with plenty of dining options which they provide a 30 euro discount. Had dinner at the Peruvian/Japenese restaurant and it was great. The service was very excellent overall, friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The lobby is dated and would truly benefit from a contemporary refresh, first impressions are important. There are very nice water sport offerings for an extra charge but reasonable. The gym is very nice there are a few, and you have quite a few pools to chose from. The location is paradise with sweeping views of the see and mountains. Upgrading your room is well worth it. Highly recommend for a relaxing time in Eastern Crete. A taxi into town Agios Nikolaus is 15 euros and 15 minutes. The town is very charming with plenty to do, shopping, dinning and bars.
