We really enjoyed learning about what the nature reserve does for the animals & the environment. We hope others tske the upportunity, rdpecially thise that need to hear about & see what happens when you try to domesticate wild animsls. The true rescue aspect of it is also amaxing. The cenote was brearhtaking! Take the chance to change in the banyo if you want privacy ;). Also, note 2 banyos, one at start/end & one in middle of tour. Bring water, walking shoes, bug repellant, bathing suit, sunscreen, hat, msybe a microfibre towel for after cenote. Pics don’t do it justice!

This is quickly becoming our favorite resort! We went in October (you can read my review from then on here as well) and again in March and have already planned our third visit for this fall! We opted for a third story ocean view room this time (we had a private corner pool suite last time). We loved listening to the waves every night from our room and waking up to the sunrise every morning. The room was very similar to the last one we had. Very modern, marble bathroom etc but this room had a jetted soaking tub. We requested building 67 so we could be close to the infinity pool and Helios restaurant. From the moment you arrive you are treated like family. Israel, the bellboy captain, is always prepared with a warm welcome and Kevin at the front desk is always a wonderful familiar face to see! Alberto, Sergio and Romeo are amazing golf cart drivers! They always get you where you need to go with a smile and a warm greeting! They have become our friends and we look forward to seeing them again soon! All of the butlers are excellent as well. Rafael and Mariana took great care of us! If there is anything at all you need, don’t hesitate to ask your butler. The food and drinks here are excellent. There are top shelf options included such as crown royal, captain Morgan, grey goose etc. David, Jonathan and Mayra made sure our cups were never empty :) Daniel at La Jarra (trs only beach bar) was a treat! We enjoyed hanging out there with him. He works very hard keeping all the trs guests happy! Alfredo at La Terraza (the “quiet” pool) made us some special custom drinks that were amazing! We ate breakfast every day at Helios (capricho wasn’t open) and often times lunch as well. My husband even started making up breakfast sandwiches for himself lol and they made them for him every day! Martha and Wendy made breakfasts exceptional! They even brought us a sweet goodbye dessert plate :) Ivonne is an amazing hostess and has become someone that we feel is our friend and we look forward to seeing her again soon! Our favorite dinner spots are Tentazione and La Boheme. We like sitting in the special booth there! We tried Sumptuori (hibachi) this trip and enjoyed it as well. The evening entertainment here is the BEST that we’ve encountered since Covid restrictions affected the resorts. The chic show is running on a smaller scale and is in the terrace bar, full moon. The burlesque show is fabulous and should not be missed! We also enjoyed ****** night! Be prepared to make new friends here on a nightly basis! It’s so much fun! Make sure to check out Las Rocas, the salt water pool. Bring your snorkel gear and water shoes! We also enjoyed a round of putput golf at the activities center! Another wonderful visit...love the tents and the overall atmosphere. The tents are extremely comfortable, well appointed and spaced far enough apart to give privacy. The entire property is uniquely designed & quite beautiful. The pool area is very relaxing, and the restaurant serves up some wonderful food. Nice beach just down the road, with beach club amenities. Secluded enough to really give the feel of being away from the population. Can't say enough about the fantastic staff...such great folks, and extremely accommodating. Can't wait to get back...always a pleasure !

Let's start by saying a vacation is what you make it. If you've travelled to other resorts before, you will know that there are certain issues that may come up; difficulty reserving restaurants; towel supply; COVID restrictions, etc. If you go into a vacation with realistic expectations, you will not be disappointed. That being said, this was our 3rd time at the Colonial. We just returned from a fantastic week (April 25 - May 2). The food was wonderful (I didn't have to cook!), the ocean was crystal clear & warm (despite the sea****), the rooms were clean and the grounds were breathtaking. The resort is large, so be prepared to walk through their incredible gardens and walkways. I can not say enough about the beautiful grounds! Never had an issue getting chairs at the beach or pool. You may not find your ideal spot, but there were always some available. And, there will always be ”those people” who reserve spots and don't show up for the entire day. Every resort has them. We did have a hick up with our room smelling of mildew, but we asked to change and our needs were met immediately. Within an hour we were transferred to another room. Most of the staff were incredibly warm and friendly. Those are the ones we tipped well. All in all, we had a wonderful time and a great experience!

The hotel is very small, shop, not busy and has all the luxury. The staff are ready to help you day and night. The service is good but the staff is so helpful and subdued that it feels almost uncomfortable. The breakfast is a la carte, and you will have two choices every time, very diverse and with healthy options. The hotel has a great deal of facilities such as snorkeling with a guide (including) if you wish. However, the hotel was very difficult to find algae on the beach when we were there (in July). They can do little more, it is cleaned regularly, but the split algae are kept a little next to the beach, and then removed. The location is tricky. On the one hand, very remote and on a quiet beach with enough facilities. On the other hand, if you are looking for more variation and not want to use the surrounding restaurants of ”luxe” hotels you should also have some trouble. Tulum center is a quarter with the car which is not the problem but the access to the hotel****** It is very hobbit and full of deep holes. You need to make some effort to get out there. The airport is also at 1.5 hours driving, with a lot of beach traffic even early morning (7 hours). If you want to use the restaurant, the price-quality ratio is questionable, and we found it very highly overpriced because you paid 20 euros for all simple plastic cocktails or hamburgers. If you don't find that a problem, you can get all kinds of food to your room. And lastly, the whole setting looks more luxurious than it is, and for the price-quality ratio, it must be noted that small details such as TV that does not work properly or slow internet connection become important.

Not to see that there is no road to the hotel - the hotel itself and the beach with a bomb! It was very impressive that turtles come to shore to nest and you can get onto small turtles from the morning - very nice! The food in the facility is also cool! A very quiet rest for those who want to take a rest in a hotel near the beach and not to go to town, all is there. Nobody gets tired, nobody asks every two seconds of tea and no noisy show of programs, although this can be done to a minus, because sometimes there is little fun, but it was a lot of fun! From minus, there is not enough shopper to buy some ordinary things, especially women's hygiene, or elementary patches, sun protection creams.
