Great Location on the more quiet side of Luxor, The West Bank with a 2 min walk to the ferry crossing point. Only real issue was the dogs that reside outside had a barking match at 4am on night. Stayed for 2 nights, as it was Low season (start of summer) There was only one other guest in the hotel so I had the place to myself inc the swimming pool which was clean and refreshing to use after a day trekking around the local sights. The breakfast wasn’t great but understandable as they couldn’t do their full spread as there wasn’t enough guests to accommodate but it was adequate enough with Egg’s, bread, fruit with coffee and tea, I didnt get to check the rooftop restaurant as i didn’t want them to open due to its quietness, They did accommodate me with a beer on arrival and later by the pool. No Wifi in room but great by the pool area. Also the place a pretty dusty but everywhere in Egypt virtually was so this was not a problem, although the room was very clean with great air conditioning and view of the Nile. Would certainly stay again on my next visit, the locals were fantastic. There is currently construction in front of the hotel of a welcoming plaza for the ferry port which didn’t effect my stay/sleep but will be a wonderful addition once completed.would 100% recommend.

We were familiar with Luxor and were looking for a hotel with an optimal location. We found that! On the west bank, perfect for the Valley of the Kings and Queens and easy boat crossing (very cheap and very fun) to the Museum, Luxor Temple, Karnak etc. In addition, a unique roof terrace with a view over the Nile and Luxor, where you can enjoy a delicious meal every evening. Very nice people. Warm, caring and with a wealth of information (also in Dutch). The location is remarkably quiet, no through traffic. The hotel is attractive, the rooms and bathroom are spacious and clean. And there is a swimming pool to cool off. We had reserved a large period, so we could also make a 5-day desert trip. Past Oases and to "The White Desert". The trip was tailor-made for us, two people, and it was great. We look back on two weeks in which we saw and experienced a lot in an incredibly relaxed atmosphere. Thanks to the owner Karin and her husband Hamadan

Good location near the pier, but WI-FI is very poor and there is a lot of noise from cars.

I didn't stay for free, okay? I paid It was my first time staying in such a bad hotel, and they didn't have my reservation number After that, I called to ask for my reservation, and after seeing what room I booked, I was arranged differently (facing the main road and very noisy). I asked the boss to change rooms, and he said the room facing the pool was full, and he would change with me tomorrow. Tomorrow I asked again about the room change, and the boss reluctantly asked to see my reservation again, saying that the photo of my reserved room was wrong, and it was not that big (I immediately said: I didn't ask for a big room, I live alone, I want a quiet room facing the pool) The environment facing the pool is just like the photo (there are many empty rooms) After that, the boss also arranged a room facing the pool, which is a very bad room, there is no mirror in the bathroom, and you don't get toilet paper (there was one in the room the night before)

Loved this hotel and especially the pool . We stayed for a few days on the West Bank, after previously staying at a hotel on the other side of the Nile . Love the tranquility, and less hassle on this side of the Nile. We stopped in one of the standard rooms, which was perfectly adequate for us, but having the seen the new rooms which have a few more luxuries, tea making facilities and a fridge, will book one of them in the future. It’s excellent value staying here, and in such a good location. Loved the pool after a busy day walking. One of the few pools heated in Luxor during the winter months. We will be back.

During our 14-day holiday in Port Ghalib we wanted to take a 3-day short trip to Luxor on our own. When we were planning ahead we decided on the Nile Valley Hotel in Germany - I had a room shown to me on a previous holiday and I think that you can go on holiday there with the family. We emailed them in English and received a prompt reply - in perfect German! (From Karin, the co-owner). I then asked if they could also organise the transfer from Port Ghalib - this request was also answered quickly and at a fair price - so off to Luxor. We were picked up on time by the taxi driver Taleb. Taleb speaks English and also takes on a bit of the role of tour guide - thank you for that. After about 4 hours we arrived safely and relaxed at the hotel via the Dandera Temple in Qena, which we wanted to see (absolutely worth seeing!). Here we were greeted warmly by the manager, Khairy, the owner. We went to our room and wanted to eat something first. You can do this in the hotel's own restaurant on the roof terrace - with a fairytale view over the Nile to the Luxor Temple directly opposite - impressive. Typical Egyptian dishes are served at fair prices. These are freshly prepared by the staff. Here again, a stroke of luck - the hotel team speaks English and is extremely friendly and focused on the well-being of the guests. Without being asked, we were brought 3 small plates for our 3 ordered dishes, so that we could all try everything - very attentive - great. After we had eaten, we looked around the small hotel and discovered the inner courtyard with the small pool. So - put on your swimming trunks and first jump into the "bathtub". The pool is small but big enough to swim a bit - and it also has small massage jets. Absolutely sufficient. After that, we wanted to look at the other side of the Nile. This is where the central location comes into play - the taxi boats to the other side of the river leave directly in front of the hotel. It couldn't be better - everything is within walking distance. Here, too, there is support from the hotel team - they give information about the prices of the crossing so that you don't pay overpriced prices. Although the location is very central, it is very quiet at night and we were able to sleep well. The next morning came the next surprise - the breakfast buffet - small but extensive - that is to say, everything is there, just not so much of it - it's only a small hotel, if everything is gone, they just refill it. Coffee, tea, juice, fruit, vegetables, bread, cheese, sausage, fool, omelette, etc. If you can't find anything here... the whole hotel is very well maintained and clean and is in no way inferior to the luxury hotels. The service for individual travelers is even a little better, as support can be given for all planned excursions. We enjoyed a great stay.

It is always a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The nice clean rooms, the very sweet staff. Our excursions are always perfectly arranged. Delicious food on the roof terrace with a beautiful view of the Nile with its authentic boats. The swimming pool is wonderfully heated and there are plenty of shaded areas. We have considered this hotel a real place to be for years, also because of its perfect location.

A beautiful hotel that I have been visiting for many years. A family-run hotel. You immediately feel at home. English, French, Dutch and German are spoken. The rooms are OK. The staff are very friendly. And the menu leaves nothing to be desired. It is centrally located on the Nile and the ferry. You are on the west bank where most of the sights are to be found.
