Hôtel sympathique, accueil agréable, Il S’agit plutôt d’un hôtel « étape » qui est très correct. les chambres sont très spacieuses et propres., la literie est top ! Le dîner en mode buffet est très bien et la cuisine bonne. Le petit déjeuner est aussi copieux.

Fine, but old. I only had one night here but the hotel lacks the standard of a thon hotel - the room was interesting a least large - half the lamps didn't work - even in the bathroom it was only one downlight beaming. However it's quiet and the food is ok. Cheap dinner - one course meny - and breakfast is as expected. However I can recommend the hotel for overnight stay. If you're ok with this standard. It's busy during weekends - due to location in the mountains.

Wir sind leider nicht begeistert von diesem Hotel. Nach langer Anreise wurde uns gegen 18 Uhr mitgeteilt, dass es kein Abendessen im Hotel geben würde. Wir könnten aber in der Nähe zu einem Asiaten oder Burger Lokal gehen, oder alternativ etwas vom Supermarkt holen. Das Zimmer war geräumig mit Badewanne. Leider war an der Silikonabdichtung schwarzer ekliger Schutz . Der Fernseher funktionierte leider nicht. Die Minibar war leer u ausgeschaltet. Beleuchtung sehr gering. Das Frühstück bot leider keine glutenfreien Backwaren an. Insgesamt enttäuscht.

We stopped off at Ål for a one night stay to break the rail journey from Oslo to Flam. As there aren’t many choices of accommodation in town we decided to stay at the Hotel Thon, a short 10 minute walk from the station. Check in was easy and the room was spacious, a double bed with a bunk bed for the kids. A tv, fridge, phone, coffee machine and fan were available in the room. The best aspect of the room (room 327) was the view out of the front of the hotel. Amazing! Breakfast was extensive, with a lot of choice available. Top tips: A large convenience store (Spar) is a 10 minute walk away. Top Camp Hallingdale is a 25 minute walk down the river (nice restaurant, play park and mini child’s golf course are available in the off season). The adventure bike rental by the station seems to close in the off season. Yes we would stay here again.

Das Thon Hotel Hallingdal liegt in malerischen Ål, bietet neben vielen Zimmern, kostenlosen Parkplätzen auch ein voll ausgestattetes Fitness Center nebst Sauna. Auch wenn alles sehr alt und abgewohnt ist, ist es ein schönes Hotel. Eine Renovierung würde daraus wieder eine Perle machen. Die Zimmer sind zweckmäßig eingerichtet, die Sauberkeit lässt aber beispielsweise im Bad zu wünschen übrig, von den Umkleiden im Fitnesss-Center will ich gar nicht anfangen. Das Frühstück ist für Thon-Hotels eher unterer Durchschnitt, aber das Personal, in unserem eine One-Woman-Show war klasse.

Well, the reception area was great and staff was nice. But it was an old hotel who really needs renovation. The walls was thin, so we could hear the baby crying in the neighbor room and we could hear all the traffics outside. Our room only had half a curtain, so it was a lot lighter in the room than we wanted. Beds was great. Breakfast was averaged, and it was in the reception area so if felt like sitting at the front desk. Free parking was great. It was an okay hotel for overnight stay, but not more than that.

The hotel needs maintenance and renovation. Moody employees who do not make eye contact with the guests. Large family room was cheaper than ordinary double room!? Noise from the road outside. Standard far from hotels.

You know it’s Thon when most things are broken and the breakfast looks like a students kitchen.. after a party. My room was never made up after 3 days, the breakfast was so poor. Coffe machine broken, out of eggs, juice and bread and what was there…. Well, look at the pictures.

Accueil très sympa et souriant par un monsieur charmant. Les chambres sont immenses, nous étions en couple et nous avons eu 4 lits !! Elles sont très calmes , bien situées dans une petite ville où tout était fermé sauf un restaurant où nous avons été très bien accueillis . Jouriy à l'accueil a été vraiment très aimable , mettant plus de lumière quand nous sommes venus jouer aux cartes avec notre couple d'amis . Nous avons un peu discuté avec lui et c'était très agréable . Il a été à l'écoute de nos demandes . c'est un charmant hôtel à taille humaine . Merci
