Authentic experience, no frills to distract from the beautiful location. Sustainable: solar panels to pump water from his own well deep under the ground. The water is used for the bathroom facilities in the camp. The owner also shares the water with local camel farmers, so their camels can drink.

The manager was very attentive, he even took us and waited at two cell phone offices so they could solve a blocked chip issue. An unforgettable experience. Attention and services as promised. Recommended. Nature.

A dozen tents, each with its own small open-air toilet. Simple but sufficient comfort. The camp is 30 minutes by track from the national road to Al Wasil (4x4 necessary or transfer to be organized with the owner) The location is perfect, at the foot of a magnificent ocher sand dune, to be climbed in 20 minutes to enjoy the sunset. Friendly welcome from the owner (Omani) but absolute silence from the employees (Indians) in charge of maintenance and meals. The trickle of water coming out of the shower will not contribute to the desertification of the planet, especially since hot water is...cold. The floor of the tent is covered with carpet, the bed is equipped with a mosquito net and a small lamp provides parsimonious lighting. But the beauty of the place invites indulgence. No WiFi but 4G network available. Simple but good buffet meals. Possible paid activities (Camel, 4x4 tour) If you have your vehicle, we recommend spending 2 nights there (with an excursion to the beautiful Wadi Bani Khalid the next day) and/or a camel tour. A small-scale camp that offers simple comfort in a beautiful location.

Charming camp and super nice host! We really enjoyed the stay, the silence of the desert, the dinner and breakfast included, running down the dunes or watching the sunset and sunrise from above a dune and the camel ride in the morning. The tents are comfortable and have a bathroom / shower next door but just for you, very clean and new We loved it!

A truly authentic desert experience wrapped in Omani hospitality. The tents are comfortable with solar lights and mozzie nets just in case - although we experienced none. Each tent has its own open air bathroom which is extremely clean and also each tent has a little outdoor seating area - a nice touch. The camp sits at the base of the largest dune in the area and offers shade but also the challenge of climbing to see sunset and sunrise. Meals are good and food is plentiful. What makes this camp stand out is the Omani owner's engagement with his guests (perfect English), his concern for their comfort and expectations and his obvious care of the environment. Dune bashing, camel rides and star gazing are available but no hard sell. Sitting round the fire after dinner with new friends was special. There were no highlights - it was all wonderful. Thank you Humaid.

We were two couples, from Germany and USA looking for a desert experience. We were not disappointed. The location is incredible and the camp sites are well designed and comfortable. Homed provided us with warm hospitality, a good meal, a beautiful sunset hike and stargazing afterwards. The beds were comfortable and clean. Very quiet. No bugs and bathrooms good. In the morning a sunrise hike and a filling breakfast fallowed by camel rides. Everything was according to plan and price. Not about luxury or sitting around staring at phones. We would definitely do it again and stay longer. A good trip would be two nights with a day trip to Wadi Bani Khalid for swimming in the heat of the day. So highly recommended and many thanks to Homed and his capable staff.

This desert experience was the highlight of our trip to Oman and exceeded all expectations! The camp is located in a remote location at the base of the highest dune in this part of the desert The bedoin style tents are both perfectly suited to the environment and very comfortable. The food was ample and well prepared. The dune driving experience was remarkable as was the camel ride. But what made this experience even more exceptional was the owner and host. This camp is owned and run by a man who is indigenous to the area. And he speaks perfect English! His generous spirit and warmth were very special indeed!

A night in the desert like you dream of... The camp is located 29 minutes' drive from the nearest village. A 4X4 is required to reach the site. A transfer is possible. (55 euros A/R per car). The tents are comfortable. Obviously we are not at Sofitel and that is what we are looking for! Mosquito net. Solar lighting. One shower (lukewarm water) and toilet per tent. Everything is very clean. Magnificent sunset/sunrise spectacle over the dunes. Amazing starry night. Quality meal. Excellent welcome. A large number of travel agencies offer this outing. You can absolutely do it yourself. Go directly with them for the reservation (Whatsapp). Rent a 4X4 in Muscat or at the airport. Don't forget the GPS. Allow 2 hours of motorway in excellent condition, almost deserted and lit. One last piece of advice: cover up, the nights in the desert are VERY cool... A change of scenery guaranteed.

It was our third desert experience after Morocco and Wadi Rum (Jordan) and therefore we were able to appreciate the hospitality, cleanliness and services offered. Private bathroom (with shower), abundant and quality breakfasts and dinners, spacious and welcoming tent. The owner was really nice and helpful
