We stayed here on our first night after we landed in San Jose. It is a great location only 60 min away from the airport. They pay attention to all the small details like having an umbrella outside your room. Nestled in the countryside they have multiple trails to choose from.

Wow! Just WOW! This place is so amazing it's difficult to put into words. The lodge is a Frank Lloyd Wright design and it is truly spectacular. Cozy fireplaces tucked away in every corner which comes in handy for the cool evenings at this elevation. The lodge has great views of Poas volcano. There are walking trails all around the property with lots of opportunities for birdwatching. Staff were all great but a special shout-out to Javier! We will definitely be back!

A lovely rural oasis. A beautiful property. Lovely dinner. About a 50 minute drive to the airport (at 5 am!). This was our second stay and we will be back.

Übernachten und Dinner in der Poas Volcano Lodge. Zusammengefasst kann man sagen Personal unfreundlich, unflexibel und inkompetent. Im Lokal in dem wenige Tische reserviert waren bestand der Kellner auf die Einhaltung der Reservierung. Wir konnten bei einer Reservierung um 19 Uhr nicht bereits um 18.30 Uhr zu unserem Tisch.Dazu mussten wir massiv intervenieren. Das Essen dann war gut und preislich in Ordnung. Die Zimmer in der Lodge (wir waren im Haupthaus) groß und mit großen Fenstern mit Blick auf den Vulkan. Ergänzung: gutes serviertes Frühstück mit frischen Erdbeeren. Service am Morgen aufmerksam und freundlich.

Lovely hotel. Nice decor. There is not much around the hotel. But only 25 mins to the Poas Volcano. Dirt road up to the hotel.
