We gambled on this motel as a good halfway point between Roskilde and Copenhagen, so that we could combine the Viking museum with the capital. We rocked up and the initial view is like something out of an old school crime thriller film, with little metal chairs outside rooms, and a chance to park outside your allocated room. It is relatively mild looking. Once we got our key though, we got access to a family room for 4, with 4 beds, big screen TV that let’s you chrome-cast streaming services over the very quick WiFi. This meant the kids could watch Netflix whilst we checked out a video on our phones in bed. The room was spacious and comfy. The furniture is a bit uninteresting visually, no designer stuff, but so comfortable. Our room came with two leather lounger chairs that we contemplated either finding online or just stealing. Delightful. The decor is also somewhat charming even though basic, each room seemed to have done famous painting posters framed. As a nights sleep goes, all four of us slept well in comfy beds with good duvets and pillows. Nice to have a good responsive hot shower. The hotel is also a quick walk to the nearby REMA 1000 and a 7-11 so easy to grab snacks and drinks if you didn’t fancy the breakfast at Sallie’s. All told we really enjoyed our stay at Denmark’s oldest motel!
