Smy Santa Eulalia Algarve

My stay at Smy was not great. The condition of the rooms were awful. Mould in the shower with shower curtains that I was afraid would blow on me. Floor mats used as towels. The mats also had dye stains on them. The sofa bed smelled, so I used a towel to sit down on it, alongside of unhygienic plastic chairs on the balcony. The stairs to the room were difficult and there was no offer of help to get to the first floor. The insult of all insults is the failure to refund my deposit for the room and being hung up on, by Claudia. PLEASE ISSUE MY REFUND AS A MATTER OF URGENCY

The hotel is ok, the room number/blocks designation is a bit confusing though… It’s not in a bad spot for the new *****, and is flanked by plenty of restaurants etc… Big plus is the air con, pool area is just ok for how many rooms they have, no where near enough places to sit

Bad, dirty, the photos on the site are not the same thing at all. And the case is to say Google vs. Reality. No security, other people who had the wrong room entered at night. So the key you give is the same for everyone? Not professional at all.

Perfect location, with the ***** easy to walk to, short bolt journey to the old town, and near to a nice beach. Hotel is nice overall, there is a curfew of 22:00 for loud noise which you are warned about but it is unfairly and inconsistently upheld, apart from that no other issues really except security checks when you return which are again inconsistent and ineffective. All being said, the hotel is perfect and good quality for the price so no complaints there, would recommend but just be mindful of the few factors mentioned.

hotel room was dirty there was ants everywhere our aircon did not work. we were told there would be cleaning half way through our stay and there was not. we had to ask for more towels and toilet paper bed sheets were not changed throughout our stay either. We rang hotel reception one night as there was somebody trying to get into our room they said they would send security up straight away nobody came to help overall bad experience do no book on a positive note andre the bar man was very pleasant and offered great service

We stayed here from June 22nd to June 25th, and I’ll start by saying it is nowhere near as bad as some reviews make it out to be. When we first arrived, we were a bit upset to find out there was a €300 per room security deposit required on a credit card, which wasn't mentioned when we booked. However, we did get the full deposit back at the end, so all good there. One thing to note: considering the hotel seems aimed at stag groups, they are surprisingly strict about noise. The receptionist lacked manners and immediately started shouting and threatening eviction/loss of deposit over music being played on the balcony, rather than just politely asking us to turn it down. Definitely be mindful of that if you go. On the plus side, our rooms were clean, comfortable, and served as a great base. The pool area had a decent atmosphere, and the bartender was really nice. Location-wise, it’s great—close to the New Town and very easy to catch an Uber into the Old Town. Overall, it was a decent stay and we can't complain too much.

Standard hotel, nothing special. Bartender was amazing!! So attentive and friendly, really made the experience. Such a great atmosphere around the pool. However, was really let down by the reception staff being unhelpful as our air conditioning did not work. After multiple complaints and asking for maintenance to fix it, it was never fixed, nor were we moved rooms. The heat was unbearable and all that was offered to us was a very small table fan that made no difference at all. Asked for compensation when checking out from our stay and was told a manager would speak to us as soon as possible, which was not true.
