Stayed in the hotel for 5 nights with my nephew in late october 2024. The hotel was clean, we actually had good service, the pool area was fantastic and the hotel had a great location. However a huge issue we come across was relating to the €100 security deposit. Something i had no prior warning about. My trip was a pre booked holiday through Jet2 and never have i had to pay a security deposit when booked on a package holiday. Id totally understand it if i had booked the hotel privately but as a package holiday with a highly reputable travel company, i didnt expect it. And moreover, Jet2 never informed me of this prior to my trip. I travelled without my bank card purposly as it was the week before payday and knew i wouldnt have funds available and all of my spends was in cash whicg i had saved for a while. When i came to check in i was told it was hotel policy and i wouldnt be allowed to check in without it, so the trouble and embarrasment i had to go through in order to have a family lend me funds so i could pay contactless using my phone was a hassel i certainly could do without. When i checked out i was informed it can take up to 30 days to get the funds back which i find to be totally unrealistic and the process to be unnecessary. The local portugese jet2 rep wasnt helpful either, shrugging it off telling me it was policy
