DISAPPOINTING HOTEL.. Rooftop beautiful but closed too early. No restaurant or bar in hotel if you wanted to relax in hotel itself. Rooms not soundproofed well enough as music on streets went on to 4-5am NO SLEEP. Also my wife sprained her ankle and the guy on reception offered no help at all when I asked for bag of ice to reduce swelling.I ended up getting frozen peas in spar as they were closing up. I did ask to speak to manager but he said no manager here. CUSTOMER RELATIONS TERRIBLE WITH THIS RECEPTIONIST. The rest of the staff I could not fault. For these reasons I or my party shall not return.So disappointed after paying over €1100 per couple.

This place has polarizing reviews.. After going there, I understand why.
The facilities and services are good. You can use the swimming pool, washer and dryer (performance is poor), sauna and spa for free, and although the building structure is unique (1st and 8th floor reception, 2 elevator transfers, etc.), it's okay if you get used to it.
We couldn't find the way by taxi, so we climbed the hill with our suitcases, but the reception on the first floor is near the spar mart. They were friendly, but the air conditioner was broken so I called twice and they didn't come so I just gave up.
This place is in the middle of the old town, so I actually made a reservation based on the location, but it's literally in the middle of the club street, so even if you're inside the accommodation, you'll be staying at the concert hall all night long. There's no soundproofing, so you have to enjoy it together until 5 a.m. The noise is another level, as foreign reviews say.
I’m traveling around the world, but this place is really ambiguous haha. The breakfast isn’t bad, but it’s just ambiguous… . Personally, I think it would be less noisy and better if it wasn't just in this alley because it's Albupay!!

Stayed for 4 nights in a self catering apartment which was great! I was abit apprehensive about this hotel as the price was very cheap, so wasn't sure what to expect however was pleasantly surprised with the room which was very clean and spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. We didn't use the pools as water was too cold in April. Location was good, was walking distance to the old and new towns. We booked a boat excursion to explore the caves and dolphin spotting which was absolutely amazing and a must see!

I think there should be thorough cleaning at each guest change. The towels and sheets have many dirty stains. There is little cleaning in the corners of the houses, we always find cobwebs, dead spiders and other animals.
In 7 days, we were told that there would be a change of towels every other day and that did not happen. They only changed towels once, and we had to go to reception to ask for new ones.
We didn't have a carpet at the entrance to our house, which meant we brought dirt from the street inside.
The staff are very helpful and attentive, the pools are wonderful and the location near supermarkets is very good.

Breakfast buffet is super invincible and delicious! Especially fruit selection is especially great! The hotel will take the initiative to help parking is free. Hotel dinner is not recommended for single or buffet, the taste is very general, the ingredients are not too fresh. The sea view room has a beautiful sunrise view of the sea on the west side of the sunrise. Also saw the double rainbow! The on-site walking trail is also very convenient to walk to the sandy beach of Sao Rafeal. In the morning, it is empty and there is no one, just like enjoying a private beach. The only downside is that the spa is charged separately by number of people, and the free swimming pool also has to buy a swimming cap to enter.

We recently stayed at the Patio Suite Hotel for a week-long, all-inclusive family reunion with 22 people, and it was a fantastic experience. Our double room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with a kitchenette and a spacious lounge area that opened onto a balcony overlooking the smaller pool. The food was excellent, offering a variety of options with fish and meats available daily. We were also impressed by the wide selection of cocktails and drinks, enjoyed throughout the stay. The staff were friendly, polite, and always approachable, which added to the overall positive atmosphere. Entertainment included live music in the evenings, a fun karaoke night, and several daytime activities. The hotel’s location is convenient—just about a 45-minute drive from the airport and a 15-20 minute walk to the nearest beach. If you're traveling on a budget, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Amazing place, 2 big bedrooms we booked and they were huge. Clean in general. Had all kitchen and catering amenities. Staff was kind. For the price it was a steal. Highly recommend this place. It’s about 12 min drive to albufeira center. There’s a Aldi in 5 min drive very handy. The place has a common swimming pool we did not use it as it was still a bit chilly and we were tired too. Lot of parking around inside the villa. The only downsides I can say and they are minor the shower could be slightly better spray that’s it. 5/5 for me.

My 5 stars goes to the apartments not Vilamoura itself. One of the best 3 star hotels we have stayed in A credit to the cleaners from the apartments to the public areas all spotless. Free air con included Rooms large and spacious, hob and microwave but no oven. Pool is freezing even in July but lovely once your dunked in! Plenty of sun beds. Spar around 5 mins walk. Use Uber much cheaper than local taxis reception will tell you not to use but just ignore we had no issue in 10 days , Uber for up to 4 people around 5 euros we got dropped off at restaurant il trio and walked down the steps to the harbour . Turn right by the Irish bar use the steps to the right this will bring you to a lovely square of restaurants. Vilamoura itself looks the part but I would not return. Look up and you will see the massage parlours and the **** supermarket, up the side and back streets you will see the gentlemen’s clubs and massage parlours with an atm conveniently situated outside of each. Although this will cause you no problems I couldn’t help but notice the girls outside the massage parlour, drunken men leaving barely able to walk never mind anything else ! On the back and side streets the girls do stand in the doorway calling to the men as they walk past, this will cause you no bother as they are spaced out and it’s done very discreetly, I just find it contradicts what Vilamoura claims to be. It’s easy to just ignore it and not see it if you choose not to. I’m sure it is happens everywhere I’ve just never noticed it before. The marina is lovely, food expensive nice for a few drinks sat overlooking the marina. Would never return though.

Booked a 3-night twin room to attend a friend's lecture in Lagoa. The hotel, or better, motel is excellent for those on wheels, not for those on foot. If you have disabilities find another town in the Algarve. Some sets of stairs do not have rails, you have to go round the entrance to physically 'get in'. The reception has only 1 staff member when off-season, be prepared and do it all online. Forget questions about taxis, transportation, and restaurant advice is really subjective. The room was very comfortable, the second door to a set of stairs (curled) with direct access to the car park/entry of the hotel area was not. Cold and humidity pass through the doors (front door leading to corridor inside as well), as doors need maintenance. Breakfast is good and varied, for all tastes, except gluten-free options. Internet signal very weak, had to use phone data package. Check-in is only at 4pm. Pro's. besides what I already mentioned: bus terminal 5 min walk, good restaurants each way 5 min walk (one is just next door), supermarket passing the roundabout, beds very comfortable. You can walk to the centre (10 min walk) but the town is without interest, unless you are there for an event, for those on foot, you can stay here and get to know other nearby cities in the Algarve by bus, as the terminal is so close, and it is not expensive to go around by bus.

LloozeyThis hotel really paid attention to detail. I don’t think I’ve ever stayed in a more equipped hotel room. It was huge, it has everything you could want. I stayed for 4 nights in a suite. The pools were immaculate, so clean everywhere you went. Also fairly quiet and relaxing, not busy and no one reserving sun beds which was really nice to see. Beach was a 2 minute walk down the steps near the hotel. You can reserve a sun-bed via the hotel but it is 50€!!!! The food was good, breakfast was great. I was a little surprised to find half board was actually breakfast and lunch which I didn’t want. Buffet dinner was 45€ which felt was overpriced. All in all a lovely hotel, it’s expensive but I feel the facilities reflected that.

RRiazanova VeronikaI think this place is quite far from been a 5 star W service. The cleaning arrived around 6 pm and also we had a bad situation with the room cards (it stoped working on the 3rd night).
On the other hand the room by itself was spectacular, big and bright. F&B service was good as well.
To conclude - do not expect perfect work on reception but at least you can enjoy friendly restaurant staff.

Excellent hotel. Location great. Hotel was very clean and the rooms where large and spacious. Good size kitchen with everything you need. Staff where great and very polite. Food was excellent and the pool bar was very nice. The Bellux Entertainment team where great fun around the pool and the shows of an evening was good fun. Had fab fun with Lina Maria and ever so funny Loui as well as the rest of the group. The best thing was pool did not open till 9 and you could get a bed any time of the day. Absolute fab holiday and would definitely go back. Thanks to all the staff you are all amazing.

My husband and I have just returned from a 7-day A/I holiday and thoroughly enjoyed it! CLEANLINESS - excellent in all areas. FOOD - good quality and choice. I love fish dishes and my husband is Gluten Intolerant. We were both well catered for. As for alcohol we both enjoyed the house wine and occasional gin and tonic. STAFF - generally very friendly and helpful. LOCATION - approx 45 minutes from the airport. We both enjoy walking and the nearby Falesia beach is regarded as one of the best in the world. The nearby village has some good restaurants and both Albufeira and Villamoura are short bus/taxi rides away. FACILITIES - excellent swimming pool; well equipped gym and spa; bedroom was spacious with comfy bed; BBC1 and 2 available; bottled water delivered to room daily; pool towels available at no cost etc. In fact this is one of the best holiday hotels we have stayed in and we are very experienced travellers, not easily pleased! We just wish that we had discovered it years ago. We would definitely book it twice a year. However, we were dismayed to learn that the contract with Tui will not be renewed and Portabay will be taking control. This means that the hotel will change from its current Adults Only status to a ”family” hotel, with access for children, and, like many other guests we met we will not be returning. GGuest UserSuper holiday! We have just spent 10days on half board here at the Porto bay Falesia. We had a fantastic time. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, bending over backwards to make the experience all the more pleasurable. We stayed in a sea view room on the 3rd floor and it was amazing! Great size room with lovely bathroom and rituals products. Cleaning staff were so lovely and kept our room spruced up throughout our stay. The food was really good. The selection was so good, always something for everyone, I prefer fish and my husband prefers meat and neither were disappointed. We also had a meal at il basilica which was great. We spent most of the week relaxing by the pool or on the beach and walking. The pool area is perfect for reading a book, plenty of loungers. The beach is accessed by around 120 steps which we loved but I can see they may be an issue if not so mobile or able. The beach is incredible! We walked to vila moura which took around 2 hours, had lunch and walked back. There was also a lovely walk along the cliff top in the other direction going via the town of olhos de agua. This walk was spectacular! It takes you all the way to Maria Luisa beach via a restaurant on the beach called passaro azul ( definitely worth a visit). We spent a morning at the indoor pool, sauna and steam room which was nice as it was raining outside. My husband also used the gym which was adequate. The town is sweet with a selection of restaurants and shops plus a small supermarket for supplies! All in all we had a fantastic 10days and will definitely be back. Thank you to all the staff for making it such a great holiday!

GGuest UserWe are glad that we booked this hotel. The beach view was breathtaking and remarkable. Not to mention its excellent location where the old town cobbled street is just right in front of the hotel. We particularly enjoyed the breakfast where they offered great selections and indeed one of the best breakfasts we've tried in our Portugal trip. Hotel staff were mostly friendly, especially those in the restaurant, except for the housekeeping staff who refused to give us extra drinking water on the next morning even before we checked out.

GGuest UserGreat room great breakfast great stay. We had a lovely stay for our 10 year anniversary at the hotel. The hotel had left us a bottle and a card for our special occasion which was a nice touch. The room was very large and room and hotel throughout were beautifully decorated. The jacuzzi was not working and the squash court was leaking (not that we intended to play squash) just an observation. We loved the breakfast and felt there was plenty of choice just needed another coffee machine as the queue does get very long. We can’t comment on lunch or dinner as we spent all of our days out exploring and finding the back streets of Albufeira for some amazing seafood and traditional Portuguese cuisine. We were only there for a long weekend. The staff were all nice and the only criticism’s of the hotel would be the charge for using the safe in the room. Anything to make an extra buck… I have not had to pay to use a room safe ever before so that was a new one on me! Also the shuttle bus that was broken was out for 2 days and they didn’t think to put on another option so we had to use Uber instead, which were cheaper than the taxis that the front desk would call.

Sitting in the closed front bar in the Luna Hotel Doura in Albufeira. This is never open. The pool 'shack' was closed today too. If you want a drink you have to leave the pool go downstairs and get one from thr awful Bakus bar that is like something out of 70's Ireland. But don't ask for a latte or a sangria as they're not on the menu. They don't heat milk for lattes. The young staff are lovely. The 'older' and female receptionists are rude, unhelpful and tar every guest with the same brush. This hotel could be amazing but between the staff, the unopened facilities and the dated decor it's not a patch on what it could be. We asked for late checkout and were told the hotel was booked out, which is blatantly and very clearly a lie. I asked about tenting towels and was told to use my own. I explained that mine would be packed in my suitcase and was begrudgingly told I could ask at the spa. Perpetually spilled liquids on the front steps to which I alerted reception once. They didn't do a thing. Not my problem if someone breaks their neck. Worst hotel I ever stayed, in which was a sad and expensive lesson.

GGuest UserFantastic Apartment complex. We stayed for a week (2 friends and 2 children). Considering the apartment was very reasonable we weren’t sure what to expect. Rooms were fresh and modern, lots of lovely extra touches (toiletries, coffee machine, washing up liquid and sponge etc) which you don’t always get in other places. The whole place was immaculately presented and house keeping work hard keeping the place clean and fresh. Pool area was lovely, very quiet and always loads of sun beds on offer. On a few occasions we were the only ones there! There was a slight blimp when we arrived. We were greeted by a polite and helpful young man who informed us there had been a mix up and the 2 bed apartment we’d book wasn’t going to be vacated until the following day. In which case for that night we were placed in a 1 bed with sofa bed in lounge. By way of compensation, we were given free breakfast the following day. The apartment was huge and again well appointed. We found the complex and the surrounding areas to be really quiet, we were told this was because it was the start of the season. It was a 10-15 min walk to the main resort which had 10+ restaurants and bars as well as the main beach. There is also a beach 50m away from the apartments, however that is accessed by 100+ steps (not buggy friendly). We got an Uber into Albufera a few times (this ranged from 6-10 euros each way. Although that was enjoyable, we were glad to return to the quieter and more chilled area of Ohlas de Água. Cannot speak highly enough of this complex, can’t wait to return.
