We booked this accommodation expecting to go to a local event which which was unfortunately cancelled, but decided to go ahead with the stay anyway. At the price we didn't have high expectations and on arriving the exterior is a little off-putting. However, once inside we received a friendly, efficient welcome at check in. Our room was clean and had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. The shower in the bathroom was excellent, although the floor of the shower was slippy and the bathroom lacked a towel rail and shelf for toiletries. We decided to have our meal in the inn and it had to be taken in the bar area. The mixed grill was excellent value for the price, good quality and quantity. All the staff we had dealings with were very friendly and helpful. Alcester is a lovely place and we wouldn't hesitate to book again at the Alceter Inn when visiting the area.

Easy to find , plenty of parking , quieter than expected. Clean and great value for money. Helpful and friendly staff. No lift but only one flight of stairs to upper floor. Met up with several friends who preferred it to the prem inns. Would use again if we had a car show in the area next year

The Inn which is more of a sports social club with rooms was difficult to find but once found the real misery began. There is no reception other than the bar which is very noisy. Staff greeted us pleasantly but told us that the twin room we had booked was not available so we were put into a double. We had also requested a quiet room and she assured us it wouold be quiet. The room was clean but had a huge extracter fan on the flat roof beside our window. It was very hot so we couldn't shut them and the droning sound of this fan went on all night. I couldn't not hear it , I buried my head under the pillow but was far too hot ( my husband is deaf so once his hearing aids were out , he was not bothered too much by it.) I tossed and turned and because we were in a double bed it dissrupted my husband. I got a few minutes of sleep but had a bad headache through the noise and no sleep. The next morning I asked to see the manager but was told she wouldn't be in till later that day. I explained what it was about and the lady apoogised that it had been left on because usually it was swithched off. There was no settings for breakfast so we just went to a table in the bar which was sticky. Again noisy as music and two televisions were on.Breakfast was fine. That evening we again asked to see the manager and was told she wasn't in. There was so much noise in the bar due to overloud singer blasting out that he had to take us into a corridor to hear what I was saying! The young lad was polite and said he would personally switch the fan off which he did but it went on again at 7 the next morning!! The manager again wasn't in but the deputy manager did have sympathy and agreed with me that bit was very unfortuante for us. She said the manager would ring me as she couldn't personally organise any kind of refund. The manager rang and was very unsympathetic , just talked at us and didn't listen and seemed to think that paying a forty pounds premium above the voucher was acceptable for the room over the weekend . I dissagree!! DO NOT STAY AT THIS COLD COMFORT , NOISY AND POORLY DECORATED TIP OF A PLACE.

Very convenient for walking to town centre. Cleaned, but not in pristine condition: stains on the carpet and shower grouting starting to look like it had seen better days. Rather basic room, but functional and perfectly fine for a quick stay to visit friends. You would not want to stay for a long period of time. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a usual full English that cost extra on top of the ‘robust’ rate charged for the room. I understand that this was originally a working men’s club (certainly looks like it from the outside) and this is reflected, to some extent, with the utilitarian interior. Does have abundant parking, which is not always available in old towns like Alcester.

Staff friendly, room spotless, food was great and great value. There was a Rod Stewart tribute act who was really good and lots of screen's for the boxing. Garden area was clean and well set up. Will definitely be going again. A couple of minutes walk to the centre where there are some lovely pubs and restaurants.

This is a budget hotel very clean somewhat basic rooms certainly not high standard however that is reflected in the low price very good value the food and drinks are not expensive but they are sufficient quite busy in the pub where food is served

We are currently staying at the Alcester Inn as a party of 5 ladies for 1 night whilst visiting Stratford upon Avon. There is plenty of free parking outside. Check in was smooth and fast. The lady was very friendly and welcoming. The rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. With everything you'd want including complementary toiletries and tea and coffee making facilities in all our rooms. As it had been a long day we decided to eat in. The menu offered plenty of choice and was great value for money. All the meals came out piping hot. Everything was beautifully cooked and portions were very generous. I chose the omelette and salad. A simple meal that was absolutely delicious. I can honestly say it was easily the best omelette I've ever eaten. Thank you chef Jo. Several of us asked for tweaks to the menu which were readily accommodated. The lady who served us was attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Would I recommend the Alcester? Absolutely! Clean, comfortable, well cooked food and importantly the most welcoming team of staff. All for a very reasonable price. We will be back next time we're in the area. Many thanks for a really good stay.
