This is a very comfortable hotel in a lovely setting. As a 5* we were slightly surprised on arrival that noone came to help with our cases until wed started lugging them up the front steps ourselves. Looked like wed arrived in the middle of some Porsche corporate event with several cars parked right at the main entrance, which may have got the staff's attention. This 1st impression gave me a sinking feeling that this was going to be one very pretentious hotel - its a bit odd to get such a corporate vibe when youre arriving for a leisure break (although granted the hotel obviously has to balance how it generates income). Couldnt be further from the truth. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming, the hotel is spotless and very nicely decorated, and a nice range of rooms for having dinner, a drink or a good read. The food at Cameron Grill was terrific. Louise at the spa (2 miles away, oddly) gave me the most relaxing massage Ive ever had. Top notch breakfast. Bedrooms were really comfortable with lovely furnishings. Great Scots Bar is a very nice spot (more relaxed background music would suit the atmosphere better). Our 2 night stay was for a specific special-to-us reason, and we really enjoyed it here. Yes its expensive and not somewhere Id stay all the time, but as a special family treat it was fantastic. Every single member of staff we encountered chatted with us and looked after us. Cant fault it. Will definitely be back.

I stayed at Cameron House with a group of friends as the finale of a trip around Scotland to celebrate our 50th birthdays. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience! We were looked after from the moment we arrived, and made to feel very welcome. We enjoyed an afternoon in the spa and an evening in the Great Scots bar. Great staff and service at both. The bar had an excellent selection of wine and cocktails, and sitting outside looking out over Loch Lomond as we enjoyed our drinks was a highlight. The breakfast was the best I’ve ever had at a hotel, and was so hearty that it carried us through to dinner. The grounds around the hotel are lovely, and the hotel is perfectly situated to enjoy all of the surrounding area has to offer. We stayed in one of the lodges, which was roomy, clean and comfortable. It was definitely the perfect place to celebrate our special occasion. We are already talking about when we can come back!

We simply did not have a 5 star experience at this hotel. It is overpriced for the quality of the hotel itself ( smell from the pool permeates the corridors ) and the food. The staff were very pleasant but seemed inexperienced. We would not visit again.

Hosted here for 1 night. Plenty of free car parking and the quite recent addition of 8 EV chargers in car park 1 (chargeable see chargers for details). Reception welcome was functional rather than warm. My room was in the modern vast extension and was modern, fresh, spacious, light and comfortable. Everything needed was there and the bed was so comfortable. Shower (no bath on reflection) was powerful rainshower style. And, naturally, based on location the night was peaceful and the blackout curtains worked a treat. Complimentary bottled water and payable mini bar only filled up by request. I could see the leisure area including pool and it all looked very nice. Also the bar was a lovely place with external balcony. Breakfast next morning in the grill was excellent and, as I was a bit early as needed to get away, was able to pick from what was available a little ahead of opening. Checkout was fast and easy. Definitely a significant premium to come here, partly location led but also reflective of premium product.

Went to the Vista restaurant ( Boatyard) as the whole of the main hotel was taken over for a private corporate function for 3 days. The vista restaurant is poor. Formula food. Supposed to be Italian though you’d expect mostly local produce? The only seafood starter was stuffed squid… 2 tiny baby squid but hardly a portion. We were, however, also given a starter we didn’t order. The only fish on the menu is swordfish… usually a tropical fish . Anyway, it was probably frozen and not fresh as it doesn’t come from UK waters. On our bill were three lagers and crisps which weren’t ours. These were deducted. Experience wasn’t great. Certainly not a 4 star hotel meal even if only at the boathouse.

Hotel is clean, fresh, lovely decor and the Staff are an asset to the resort. Very friendly, welcoming, happy and have a real love for working at the hotel. You can clearly see this! Special thanks to Dougal and John at concierge, Dougal and Lucy who worked the breakfast shift over the weekend, Lewis who served us in the Tavern on Friday night, and everyone else for their generosity and for making our trip amazing! Thank you and can’t wait to go back again.

It's been 10 years since the last time I visited and I raved about it. We were lucky to have a corporate event planned there and was so looking forward to it. The surroundings are just as lovely and the valet staff give such a lovely welcome. I'm afraid that is where the customer service stopped. A queue at reception because staff were at lunch, does not give the best impression. Lunch in The Tavern Bar was a nightmare. Sat for a while before someone asked it we wanted a drink. Waited ages for a sparkling water! Had to track someone down for a menu, and then went to the bar to order to be told someone would come to the table! and then it took well over 20 mins for food to arrive. Another of our group ordered at 13.15 to be served at 13:55. Our business meal was gorgeous and no complaints there and the room was lovely. Once the first glass of wine had been served we had to help ourselves to wine throughout the evening with no wait staff to be seen, and if anyone wanted another drink... When coffee was served, no saucers, no spoons, no sugar and no petit fours. To be fair all the wait staff looked young and inexperienced but I am glad I wasn't personally paying for the experience.
