The Camaleón hostel in Alicante is a disgraceful place, and those who run it and work at the reception are rude. We were calling from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. to let us know that we would be late to check in due to an unforeseen event. None of the 10 times we called did we get a response. In the end we arrived at the hostel the next day, and they told us that the reservation had been canceled when we didn't show up that day. Which is a lie, they lied to our faces, because later we called Booking Customer Service and they told us that the reservation had not been canceled, so they could give us a refund. This itself indicates that the room was still free, and they did not feel like giving it back to us. They just wanted to sell it again to make a profit, at the cost of leaving us, who had already paid for the room a month before, on the street. Literally. The attitude of the receptionist and the manager left a lot to be desired, they made no attempt to help us or find a solution. With a condescending and arrogant attitude. They treated us terribly.
