Hunday Manor Country House Hotel

While on a three week UK vacation I was booked here for three nights to celebrate my birthday and what a gift it was! Although undergoing a renovation, the manor was awesome! I was fortunate to have a room at the end of the hall, overlooking the courtyard, a field of sheep and a view of the sea! It was serene and peaceful. The entire staff, especially Barry, were so welcoming, attentive and friendly! I rarely rate 5 star and Hunday Manor deserves it.

Stayed here for 3 nights with our friends . So disappointed the bed was rock hard and lumpy and the bathroom cold as the towel rail didn't work . It was my 25 year anniversary and also my birthday so we booked our meal on the restaurant .we waited over an hour and a half for our starters and by the time we got our mains we had waited over 2 hours . 3 of us had the steak and we all had it cooked differently but none of us could cut it let alone chew it . They offered to get us something rose but at nearly 9.30 we couldn't be bothered . They knocked the price of the steaks off but the night was ruined . As it was terrible weather the second night we decided to give them another chance and ordered soup but it was stone cold and because we'd complained the night before didn't say anything then we had fish and chips but it was huge and just mainly batter with hardly and fish considet8ng between the 4 of us the 3 days cost £900 I feel really cheated and wont return again

I would like to thank the management and staff for their kindness and discrete service at our small funeral tea yesterday. The food was excellent and plentiful and it was so nice to have a private room for our small family. You made a very difficult day a little more pleasant, thank you.

Absolutely disgusted with this place Looked forward all year to taking my 80 year old mother and other family members for Christmas dinner upon arrival complete chaos no staff yo great anybody no signs on the drinks in foyer alcoholic or not after eventually finding a member of staff we were seated a rude waiter took our order speaking abruptly to my mother has she could not find her glasses the broth was like water and they never served us with the bread was no waiter yo complain so we went without I asked 3 times for wine menu after 4 times I got it but no waiter to take the order so had to order at the bar not one wine that I chose was in stock but offered a £7 cheap wine and charged £24.50 no wine cooler offered or glasses had to carry it myself Not 1 time we’re we asked was everything ok table never got cleaned had to go in search of staff to order the next course coffee mince pies and Christmas cake served with 1 missing no staff around to complain so no bread with broth no wine no cooler no wine glasses 1 mince pie 1 cake missing no apology in fact a total rip off please public be warned stay clear of this place I have written e mail and called 3 times hotel will not even contact me to apologise disgusting from what it says is a 4 star I give you minus 10

Just got back from a fantastic night away at this lovely hotel, my room was very good had everything you needed the bed was comfortable , dinner last night was excellent as was breakfast today ,staff were friendly and polite, I am looking forward to going back sometime soon hopefully ,

Very comfortable rooms, staff are lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Food was delicious & piping hot . Would definitely recommend. We only stayed for two nights but we found it was everything we needed for a relaxing stay.

Great location Lovely staff ( lady) at reception . Room comfortable however no ironing board in room although there was an Iron , room cold, turned the radiator on to no avail. Cold shower no hot water. Chose to order a chicken Madras disgusting, no flavour , cold, watery and more like a chicken Korma than a madras but still no flavour apparently this is a popular dish don’t know how it’s not what is described in the menu. Don’t waste your money

Stayed in a superior double room, it was lovely and the views over the gardens were fantastic, in the evening we went into the dining room we had a 3 course meal and I must say all courses were brilliant, The staff were very attentive and joyful, There was 1 member of staff called Jack who we really got on with and he made our holiday really enjoyable with his jokes and laughs, He was always smiling and happy making us feel very welcome. We will defiantly be returning. Thank-you

Stayed in a superior double room clean beautiful views over Gardens towards sea. Had a three course meal nice choice well cooked just enough on first night approximately £34 per head drinks very reasonable for a hotel. Loved the breakfast All staff were very friendly and very helpful. Good base if you want to visit Whitehaven St Bees of Cockermouth not too far from Keswick.
