Stayed here beginning of July, attending concert in Stirling. Would have stayed nearer but all were sold out!. Saying that, wasn’t that far from Stirling and easily found. A short rough, potholed road leads to the hotel and a theme emerged. Met at reception by lovely lady, easy book in and given room 3 which overlooked the rear garden which looked lovely with several seats and tables. Pity had to see out through a cracked window! Bed furniture quite dated and slightly worn. Bed however very comfy. No mirror in the bedroom which was rather irksome for my wife. Left hotel about 5.30 pm and advised the receptionist that there was no mirror, she seemed surprised at this, and that the soap dispensers above the bathroom sink and in the shower were empty. Was noted and got impression that this would be resolved that night. Arrived back late evening and discovered nothing changed.. Did find a 50p sized cake of soup on the sink shelf so managed ablutions with that! Good nights sleep and then went down for breakfast. We had omelette which was rather greasy and porridge which was pretty stodgy. Apple juice pretty weak as well. Overall the hotel needs some upgrades as tired looking. Would I stay here again? If I couldn’t get in/nearer Stirling then possibly.
