Conrad Algarve

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Rooms are perfect. Pool fantastic. Service was exceptional from every member of staff we came across. Breakfast is extremely good with a wide variety of choice. Some nice restaurants located over the road as well as an English themed pub offering great food and showing Premier League football.

I spent nearly 2 weeks in the Algarve with my family at various Hilton and Marriott properties. The Conrad Algarve is by far the best experience and deserves the 5 star rating it receives from guests. We visited the Conrad Algarve during peak season in June 2024 with over 98%+ occupancy, but it didn't feel crowded as most people relaxed around the pool areas. As a Hilton Diamond member, our status was well recognized with complimentary breakfast and fortunate upgraded room to a quiet part of the hotel overlooking the smaller pool area and kids playground. It's a beautiful hotel as soon as you arrive with amazing views of the local landscape and infinity pool. The entire staff was always warm and appreciative from the front desk to the Louro restaurant always making sure our stay was great. Since we arrived very early to the hotel at around noon, our room wasn't ready until 2:30pm (standard check-in is 3pm). However Beatriz from concierge tried her best to get our room prepared as soon as possible which was very appreciated. While waiting for our room, we had an amazing lunch at the Louro restaurant in the 2nd floor. The lunch menu (€20-30) isn't as pricy as the dinner menu but the quality and taste was amazing. Do avoid the pricy large bottle water at €9. Since breakfast was included being a Hilton Diamond member, the available hot and cold options were amazing. There's also a la carte breakfast menu to order omelets and smoothies. The smoothies were amazing. You will not leave breakfast feeling hungry. During breakfast and lunch, we were always greeted by Margarida who welcomed us with a smile and made sure our food was satisfying. I will never forget her beautiful smile. There's also a small shopping center with a supermarket across from the property if you want to buy packaged or cooked meals for cheap. If you have kids, the free playground was in excellent condition and always cleaned which is the exact opposite you find at the Domes Lake Algarve which is in bad condition and not suitable for kids to play. Lastly, we were very lucky and appreciative to get a late check-out honored by Miguel at the front desk despite the resort being 98%+ occupancy which gave our kids extra time to have their afternoon nap. Keep in mind that standard checkout is 12pm and not guaranteed especially during peak season. Overall, the Conrad Algarve is the best 5 star resort in the Algarve especially if you have Hilton status. This resort is better than Pine Cliffs and Domes Lake Algarve. We definitely will come back to the Conrad Algarve.

We had heard great things about the Conrad from friends who are regular visitors so we had to give it a try. Firstly it is a beautiful hotel with staff who are second to none. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the main with a few minor irritations. I requested a quiet room and made the reservation six months in advance. On arrival it was a pleasant surprise to have complimentary valet parking. Then we were warmly greeted at check in and given plenty of information about the hotel. We were escorted to our room which was simply stunning. On a par, if not better than any 5* hotel we have stayed in previously. The bathroom/shower area was spacious and the bed was super comfortable. But on perusing the area outside our balcony on the first floor we discovered we were located directly above the kids club. Certainly not the quiet room we requested. We returned to reception to be told that the hotel was at capacity. According to the hotels booking engine that wasn’t quite the full truth. So we returned rather disappointed to our room. We were promised that we would be contacted the following day if another room could be found. This never happened. However that evening we ate at Louro which was excellent and made even better by the service offered by Ankit. The upper pool area is so relaxing and beautiful although in my opinion would be better if it was adults only. Pool side service was again exceptional. Acquiring sun beds did prove a challenge so a 8:15am start was required! I have a disability so moving to the lower pool wasn’t an option for me. A couple of days into our stay we met Maha from customer relations who is a credit to the hotel and really made our stay special. It was my husband’s birthday during our stay and we received a lovely surprise in our room which was much appreciated. Another word of praise must go to the breakfast staff. All professional, efficient, helpful and friendly. I did find the lunchtime/snacks menu a little uninspiring and feel improvements could be made there. The empty buildings on the side of the driveway look rather run down so not sure what they are for? If they belong to the hotel they do need some upkeep as the rest of the driveway is so impressive. I would give the review 4.5 stars if it was an option as a few tweaks could be made. But overall we had a fantastic stay and would love to return one day. Thank you team Conrad.

Pros: The check-in process with Monica was absolutely amazing…she went through everything and even showed us the features in our room! All of the staff that we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. The room was absolutely gorgeous with a huge balcony, and the grounds are stunning! We had a garden view and enjoyed sunsets with the beautiful trees and the hotel in golden light. The hotel was in a great location and was easy to get to from Faro. It is also right across the street from a shopping plaza with lots of restaurants, a grocery store, etc. All of the restaurants that we ate at off-site were great, and an easy walk of less than a half-mile. Cons: The biggest disappointment was the food at the hotel. It was just fine, and the food we were able to get right across the street was better and much more reasonably priced. If you are willing to walk, our biggest tip would be to explore outside of the grounds, as we really enjoyed our meals elsewhere. Self-park requires you to navigate the entire way around the hotel. Highly recommend taking advantage of the complimentary valet instead. Given the price, we would likely look to stay somewhere else if we returned to the Algarve. However, our stay overall was nice and we wouldn’t discourage others from staying by any means…just with the caveats listed above.

The Conrad Algarve is a fantastic family hotel. We booked a large suite for 7 nights which basically converts to a generous size two bedroom suite. So our two young children (aged 2 & 4) shared a bedroom. Our super king size bed was one of the best beds I’ve slept in. It’s a very well run hotel, the staff are excellent and have clearly been trained and coached well. We will most likely return next summer as it strikes a good balance of being great for kids and adults. It’s not one of those hotels that can feel overrun with children (I felt like that after staying at Sani in Greece two years ago). Only two recommendations for improvement: 1. My wife and I both felt that the water in the outdoor swimming pools was too cold. It meant you couldn’t stay in for too long. I don’t think they are heated pools. Not acceptable for a 5 star hotel in my opinion. 2. Whilst we had really enjoyable evening meals in the main restaurant (by the pool) - we ate there 4 out of the 7 nights - I felt the menu was over complicated. Often a sign of a chef who lacks confidence or is trying too hard to prove a point versus relying on classic flavour combinations. We had to ask for simple bespoke dishes (e.g. simply grilled octopus or sea bass). This restaurant could be a major attraction (my favourite poolside hotel restaurant is The Orangerie at the Excelsior Vittoria in Sorrento, Italy - I would encourage the manager at the Conrad Algarve to take a look at it as a benchmark of what great looks like). In summary, we had such a great time with our young family we will very likely stay again. If they can improve the temperature in the pool then that would be great Thank you to all the amazing staff for a wonderful stay.

We had a brief but lovely stay in Conrad this month and enjoyed the amazing facilities, service and location. Beautiful, calm and relaxing, perfect to recharge your batteries. The staff was amazing, very caring and professional. A special thanks to José, at the door, always kind and with a positive energy, welcoming back a smile or making sure you are ok before you leave. The Conrad Algarve is a special place. The staff are fantastic, the rooms are of a very high standard. The pools, spa & gym facilities are great. The hotel was full but we always had sunbeds & there was no overcrowding, excellent breakfast too
