Stayed here right in the centre of beautiful Almería. Tiny entrance Street and the garage is below the hotel - there is a lift at street level which you drive into, stay in the car, turn off the engine and press the button to the level the receptionist has told you is free. Not for the agoraphobic! Lovely airy foyer and staff very welcoming. Lovely room, spotlessly clean with a lovely bathroom and nice windows overlooking the town. Within 2 minutes of the cathedral, 10 minutes walk to the castle and surrounded by bars, restaurants and some lovely dress shops! Really enjoyed our stay here. Be aware a lot of restaurants are closed on Mondays but we found a fancy Italian 2 minutes away which was very good. Would definitely stay here again.

Last weekend we were in Almería and we stayed at the Torreluz apartments because they had a kitchen and my daughter has severe food allergies, which almost no hotel establishment takes into consideration so that she can enjoy a restaurant meal. Upon arrival at the apartment, the only utensils available were glasses, a pan with a lid and a serving spatula, there were no cutlery, plates or a basic kit to wash the pan. When booking on the day, I explained the medical circumstances of the girl and they told me that I did not have to pay for breakfast since I was not going to consume it. When we went down to the hotel for breakfast, I myself brought her bread, cookies, milk, fruit, cold cuts, etc. In order for her to 'participate in the breakfast buffet', we gave her a glass of juice and immediately a lady from the dining room came up to tell us that if the girl consumed we had to pay (she even asked what the circumstances were). Of course, I explained the situation to him, I showed him the tupperware and the fridge with his food and at the exit I offered to pay for his breakfast, but they told me that it was not necessary. I just want to appeal to the sensitivity of the people who serve the public in these very special situations, which are not fashion or whim, and especially when they affect children, who are quite unfortunate because the hospitality industry does not serve them. It had never happened to me before and my daughter is 9 years old. I have always explained to him that his illness cannot be a limitation to travel or enjoy leisure in company. In short, my assessment cannot be positive nor will I recommend this hotel.

We had a wonderful holiday at Aire Hotel. Located in a quiet square in the centre of town with an easy walk to everywhere. The hotel is very stylish and the 'Ancient Baths' divine. I would like to make special mention of the reception staff who went above and beyond to make our visit a pleasure; I hope the hotel management recognises their friendliness, efficiency and professionalism.

Loved my time at this hotel. The location couldn't be more perfect for my needs. I loved swimming in the pool which never got that crowded and sometimes I was the only one so had it to myself. It was interesting watching the ferries in the port across the road from the room balcony. The beach wasn't far to walk maybe 10 minutes along the promenade and I had a great time jumping the waves. The little tourist train stop is nearby which takes you all around town and by the castle. The bridge attraction, park squares, art museum, restaurants and shops are all on the doorstep. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient and helped me with some scanning. You can hire a kettle and iron for your stay. The buffet breakfast is nice and has all your usual items, you can have your eggs made to order. They also have snacks and icecreams you can have in the bar all day. I loved my room it was calm and peaceful on the 6th floor. I had the best sleep and didn't wake in the night , better than at home. The beds are comfortable. There is air con in the room so it was nice to come back to for a little siesta. The rooms are big and the beds. There is a big cupboard and a few drawers for your things. The bathroom was nice with a bath, shower and some useful toiletries. The hotel had a nice atmosphere and I am looking forward already to coming back next year !

Having used Barcelo a lot, I was looking for a smaller hotel that was away from the usual holiday locations. I found Cabo de Gata and it looked great although there were some mixed reviews. It caters for Spanish guests primarily which was lovely to be in Spain surrounded by Spanish culture, food and language! It was lovely working to this timeframe with the pool almost deserted in the mid afternoon and the later evening meal times. We stayed for 16 nights and it was fantastic! The hotel is clean, well maintained and the rooms were great. The staff were helpful, friendly and dealt with any requests both before arrival and during the stay. We had 5 rooms which were all great with a lovely view across the site and of the sea. A huge thank you to the lovely Rosmarie who not only kept them beautifully clean but also was so cheerful and happy everytime we saw her! The main restaurant was great with themed nights throughout the week - I'd read complaints about the choice and food quality but these weren't experienced by us - our party were more than happy with the choice, temperature and quality. The food at the pool bar was also fine, it was exactly what I would expect to be available. The main and pool bar were both great with the staff always happy to help. I'd read about big queues, but during our stay even with the hotel at capcity I waited a minute or two at the very worst! All the bar staff were great but a special mention to Juan and Sara for the service and chats! The area is lovely and quiet, the beach is a few minutes walk and the promenade is lovely for a walk/run. There is a great bus service from right outside the hotel into Almeria and it's only €1.05 each way per person taking about 20 - 25 minutes. The whole hotel was well maintained and well looked after. Staff were very attentive to the grounds and the pool area was cleaned every morning really well. Overall, we were really happy with our stay, my couple of suggestions would be; 1) Like other Barcelo properties I'd like to see reusable plastic cups for around the pool because it felt like there was a lot of plastic waste with the desposable cups used. 2) Add self service soft drink dispensers like other Barcelo resorts to free up staff time and make it easier to grab drinks yourself. I'd recommend Cabo de Gata and will more than likely stay again at this property in future. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for a lovely break in such a lovely part of the world!

Beautiful modern hotel with great staff right next to the beach. We stayed for one night, which turned out to be their last night of the season, very good value. We used the indoor pool and had it to ourselves. Beautiful rooms and spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the hotel. Will stay again.

A very ordinary apartment hotel. I was already there more often. This time the bedroom was quite narrow and I had no sea view. The hotel was very surprised full. The hotel has a good tapas bar with cheap offers. There are other bars and restaurants in the surrounding area with Spanish guests. Beach about 500m. There are only a few free parking spaces. There are only praises to say as opinions about this hotel, which is on the edge of the motorway.Rooms are new,the bed is enormously good as at home,certainly the decor is inexistent,the staff are laughing, The breakfast is in the average for the hotel category.Our GPS ,WAZE,GOOGLE ITINERAIRE did not indicate the way to follow then for future customers the hotel is at the exit 800 from the motorway in one direction or in the other.It is a good hotel To stay two or three nights. Excellent location by the sea, you can go directly to the beach through a gate. Food is fine and varied. drinks are served at the table. You can get snacks between meals. Staff are friendly. Best mattresses ever for me, no back pain for the first time after holiday. The room and towels are changed daily. There is no need to lay down a towel and even in the afternoon you can still find a spot. There is a nice children's pool area with slides. The only disadvantage is parking, you have to pay 13 euros per day at the hotel. You can also park for free in the area. There are some shops and restaurants in the area. The boulevard is nice to walk along, but don't expect many shops and restaurants. Water skiing is a 15-minute walk away, well arranged there with security at sea if anything were to arise. 65 euros for 20 minutes.
