I cannot understand the bad reviews. We had an excellent experience here. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The location is very good at the city centre and close to the attractions. We had chosen a spa package, which is highly recommendable and included chocolates and prosecco. The spa experience was amazing, which we have also reviewed separately in more detail. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. When we arrived early at 12, they let ut stay on the rooftop pool all day until our room was ready. Great customer service! And when I forgot my Spanish abanico at the hotel, they found it for me, and kept it for a week until I returned to pick it up. A special thank you for your help and honesty! Breakfast was good and the views were stunning from the rooftop to the Alcazaba. Very luxurious. They even opened the breakfast serving 15 minutes earlier than usual, so we had the chance to enjoy the breakfast and still catch our early morning bus. Just a perfect stay here. La ubicación es muy buena en el centro de la ciudad y cerca de las atracciones. Habíamos elegido un paquete de spa, que es muy recomendable e incluía chocolates y prosecco. La experiencia de hammam fue increíble, que también hemos analizado por separado con más detalle. El personal fue extremadamente amable y servicial. Cuando llegamos temprano a las 12, nos dejaron quedarnos en la piscina todo el día hasta que nuestra habitación estuvo lista. ¡Excelente servicio al cliente! Incluso abrieron el servicio de desayuno 15 minutos antes de lo habitual temprano por la mañana, y gracias a eso tuvimos la oportunidad de disfrutar del desayuno antes que nuestro autobús sale. Simplemente una estancia perfecta aquí.

Loved my time at this hotel. The location couldn't be more perfect for my needs. I loved swimming in the pool which never got that crowded and sometimes I was the only one so had it to myself. It was interesting watching the ferries in the port across the road from the room balcony. The beach wasn't far to walk maybe 10 minutes along the promenade and I had a great time jumping the waves. The little tourist train stop is nearby which takes you all around town and by the castle. The bridge attraction, park squares, art museum, restaurants and shops are all on the doorstep. The hotel staff are very friendly, helpful and efficient and helped me with some scanning. You can hire a kettle and iron for your stay. The buffet breakfast is nice and has all your usual items, you can have your eggs made to order. They also have snacks and icecreams you can have in the bar all day. I loved my room it was calm and peaceful on the 6th floor. I had the best sleep and didn't wake in the night , better than at home. The beds are comfortable. There is air con in the room so it was nice to come back to for a little siesta. The rooms are big and the beds. There is a big cupboard and a few drawers for your things. The bathroom was nice with a bath, shower and some useful toiletries. The hotel had a nice atmosphere and I am looking forward already to coming back next year !

Cleanliness: The room and the bathroom was spotless and very spacious for the price we pay. Can not fault it at all Location: The hotel is on a corner of roads. It wasn’t easy for us to spot the first time when your driving. You have to park and walk, and then you will see a sign for the hotel. There is no free street parking unless you park after 2030-0730, but during the day you will struggle. The hotel provides parking but for an additional fee. There is also a supermarket next door that serves cheap or reasonable shopping items which we used. Service: The staff were lovely during check in and check out. The hotel had its own restaurant and the staff over there were lovely. Amenities: The hotel has its own private swimming pool on the first floor. It’s not heated so we didn’t use it as the weather wasn’t warm either. The room had towels and toiletries provided including a hair dryer. There was running hot water. Downside: I couldn’t say anything bad for about the hotel. For the price we paid, we experienced only the best. The only issue we had was parking since we didn’t want to pay the additional fee but other than that, I couldn’t complain about the hotel at all

The breakfast is relatively simple. The hotel does not provide airport pick-up service, and it costs about 17 euros by taxi in fifteen minutes. It's very close to the large shopping center. The hotel helps to call a taxi. It's affordable and quite suitable for business trips.

After spending 3 days in the local Government hospital my wife & I stayed here for 2 weeks before we were repatriated back to the UK. Excellent hotel in a lovely area with amazing staff who were very attentive professional & extremely helpful - the manager was very supportive. The hotel is situated just outside the city centre but only a short walk away. Very near the hospital & a large shopping mall. The food was very good especially the breakfasts with a variety of choices on offer. Very near to a host of good restaurants/tapas bars which serve excellent & great value for money food. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a city break at a most reasonable price.

A very ordinary apartment hotel. I was already there more often. This time the bedroom was quite narrow and I had no sea view. The hotel was very surprised full. The hotel has a good tapas bar with cheap offers. There are other bars and restaurants in the surrounding area with Spanish guests. Beach about 500m. There are only a few free parking spaces. There are only praises to say as opinions about this hotel, which is on the edge of the motorway.Rooms are new,the bed is enormously good as at home,certainly the decor is inexistent,the staff are laughing, The breakfast is in the average for the hotel category.Our GPS ,WAZE,GOOGLE ITINERAIRE did not indicate the way to follow then for future customers the hotel is at the exit 800 from the motorway in one direction or in the other.It is a good hotel To stay two or three nights. The hotel itself is amazing but: - Shower door did not close properly and therefore we got ”floods” everyday in the toilet. - Mosquitos: I do understand that we are in a ”wild” enviroment but it was amazing every time we open the curtain of the terrace how were falling many mosquitos. During the night, going to the toilet was an expirience as well. Too many mosquitos...they should try to do something with this. - Meals: they do not include beverage, its normal until you are charged 3'5€ for an opened bottle of water when they should serve or at least give the option to have it for free since the law says that. - Checkin: the girl of the counter just told us, ”hey scan this QR code and everything is explained”, why shall I download an app of the hotel? is it so hard to explain just in few second all the activities of the hotel? - Breakfast: Bakery quality worse than any other hotel I tried... Speaking about amenities hotel is perfect, big pools, nice decoration, buffet was ok and it has direct access to the beach. Its a pity that the service is not at Barcelo level standards.

We stayed for 3 nights and played golf twice. The hotel looks quite grand when you arrive,and we had no trouble parking, although it’s low season. In high season I expect you would have difficulty finding a parking space outside, in which case you would have to pay to park in the hotel underground facility. Our room had a lovely view with a small balcony over the swimming pool. It was fully functional and clean, but pretty tired. The air conditioning seemed to have been set to winter mode, so the room was 25C. Maybe okay for Spanish guests, but far too hot for us. The chamber maids, maintenance man, then hotel Director all tried to rectify the problem, which was subsequently rectified the following day. We were offered a move to an apartment, but didn’t fancy that. The beds in the room were also too hard for us, and the maids put on toppers the second night which made them a bit softer. Breakfast was pleasant, standard fare. We didn’t have dinner, but ate in the bar, which again was fine. We sat out on the terrace one lunchtime in the sunshine, and I suspect the pool area is lovely in high season. One lunchtime, the hotel recommended a restaurant in Aguadulce, restaurant Mistela Gastronomia, which was excellent. Very easy and cheap to get a taxi there and back. We played golf twice. Both days were at the weekend, but the course was very quiet, and we were not paired with anyone else. Very unusual even in low season. The area, and course is very hilly, so I would recommend a buggy (unless you’re super fit). It’s a woodland course, which I found quite interesting and challenging. Any water features are dry at the moment. ‘Rustic’ is the description I would use to describe the course. The pro shop were very friendly and surprisingly well stocked with a variety of clubs. It’s difficult to see how the hotel has achieved 5 star status, but the place grew on us, as all of the staff were so friendly. Despite having to complain, everyone we came into contact with tried their best to help, and seemed to want us to have a nice time. Not sure we would return, but we had a pleasant couple of days.

Our 9th visit to the Best Sabinal and as usual everything was superb from reception on arrival, housekeeping, restaurant staff and the bar staff, far to many to name but a special thanks to Daniel,Adriel and Juan Luis. The only down side is the everyday lack of cleaning and emptying the rubbish containers by the outside bar and snack bar, paper cups and plates all over the floor, impossible to find a clean table, some nights they weren't emptied until 11.30pm It's a shame after all the hard work last year in solving this problem, We will be back next September
