We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights 9th to 11th November to attend a concert at the Castellum Theatre. On word for this hotel - Perfect! The rooms are just so cosy but also functional, everything there that you could need, and although we had concerns about noise with us being on the ground floor and the restaurant being open and close by, we were not disturbed at all. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the beds were so comfortable. The breakfast was exquisite and the coffee was just wonderful! We ate in the hotel on Saturday night, and we had a great conversation with the gentleman who we believe to be the owner. All of the staff were great, and couldn't do enough for you. We will definitely be returning if we visit the area again.

Area is under road construction was not a problem.
Wonderful, helpful staff. Hotel has lots unique features that make it feel special. It does not have that big hotel/chain feel to it. Very nice people.

Wat een leuk boutique hotel is dit midden in het centrum. Een hartelijke ontvangst, prachtig grote kamers met heerlijke bedden, een mooie badkamer en een apart toilet (dat is echt fijn). De bedden slapen lekker, de handdoeken zijn lekker groot en roken heerlijk, het enige kleine minpuntje (nou ja, zo'n ramp was het nou ook weer niet) was het ontbreken van een showercap ivm de stortdouche. Het avondeten was een prima formule; een heerlijk soepje vooraf, daarna een grote plank met allerlei hapjes met een grand dessert toe. Ook het ontbijt de ochtend erna was om bij te watertanden, alles vers en veel variatie; niet teveel en wilde je meer dan kon je daar om vragen (dat noemen wij nog eens duurzaam). Het hotel & restaurant wordt gerund door een kleine familie maar ook de overige personeelsleden zijn zeer vriendelijk; er hangt een gemoedelijke & prettige sfeer. Wij hebben genoten en raden iedereen die op zoek is naar een leuke beleving zeker aan om hier je kamer en/of tafel te reserveren.

Hier alleen geluncht dat was een positieve ervaring. We hebben genoten van het eten. Genoeg keuze op de kaart. De bediening was erg vriendelijk. In de inrichting is erg leuk. We gaan zeker nog een keer het diner proberen. Over het hotelgedeelte kunnen we dus niks vermelden.

Heerlijke lunch bij de Stadsherberg in de binnentuin. Gezellige parasols, kruidentuintje en zowel zon als schaduw plekken. Vriendelijke en vlotte bediening en lekkere baguettes. Als toetje een heerlijk taartje van bakkerij Stevers. Dit is een aanrader!

Ik ben niet echt onder de indruk van de gerechten. Ze zagen er veelbelovend uit oo de menukaart, maar vielen eenmaal ook tafel wat tegen. Voorgerecht was een burata. Nu ken ik dit als een superzachte roomkaas, maar dit was een harde klont, meer een soort droge mozzarella. Hoofdgerecht kalfssuccade was ok, maar niet meer dan dat. Niet dat echte draadjesvlees dat je verwacht van een succade. Nagerecht was hangop. Met de smaak was niks mis, maar wel heel weinig hangop met grote stukken fruit in een klein glaasje. Kortom, de menukaart belooft heel wat, maar dat werd niet waargemaakt. Pluspunten van de avond waren de gezellige inrichting en het vriendelijke personeel.

My best friend lives in Alphen aan den Rijn and trying to find a good hotel near her house has been hard work - but then I found the Stadsherberg and it was just excellent. The room was extremely well outfitted and very comfortable. The bathroom was a decent size, with an excellent shower. The staff were wonderful, and a special shout out is needed for Niels who helped me with my booking by email when I had issues with the website. Super!

The Stadsherberg Alphen Boutique Hotel is in an exceptional location with exceptional hosts and staff. Room #4 was outstanding in size, with balcony and outstanding facilities. The hosts and staff went out of their way to accommodate our lactose/gluten free diets. Breakfasts were remarkable and dinner was awesome and delicious. This hotel is centrally located near rail service in a quiet alternative to staying in busy and expensive Amsterdam. We definitely will return! Please be advised hosts & staff speak fluent English in addition to Dutch and German.

Spent one night while on business. Pleasant surprise. Public parking just behind the hotel, free at nights. Hotel itself is right in the centre of town. My room on the last floor was quite big, well appointed (no carpet yes !!!!) and with a personal touch. Good also that I could adjust the heating myself. Only thing, steep stairs to reach the room, which I didn’t mind at all, but for someone it could be an issue with luggage. The night I was there there was a Thai dinner which I enjoyed. One last positive thing - as Italian I have hard time with breakfasts at hotels, costly and way too much for me. They let me have just a coffee and a croissant and I was charged only for this, I appreciated it.
