Motel 6 Alsip, IL

Just went this past weekend for a last minute funeral i had to attend, didn't expect much from this place but it was not bad, budget friendly, basic, but i didn't need much bc it was 2 days. Safe area, well lit outside and clean inside the room. Front desk was very respectful and on point, and housekeeping staff answered some questions i had about the area and helped me get an extra blanket and pillow. Left a $15 tip because we accidentally spilled soda on the floor, sorry for that housekeeping staff.

My husband and I booked a night here, we checked the pictures in the website and first sight makes you feel like you are visiting a “grandma’s house”. Check-in went smooth, they assign us a room in the back of the building. Upon driving around we noticed that hotel administration closed one wing of the hotel and used panels to do it, there were tons of garbage bags in the hallway. Once we arrived to our room the sweet Magnolias charming pictures turned into a Post apocalyptic kinda Walking Dead scene. There were mold in the walls, signs of flooding damage, mattress seemed to be damaged by water and hotel didn’t replaced. The powder room faucet leak dirty water. We called guest services and the guy during Night Shift stated that hotel shot down water pump system earlier and was the reason for the water quality. There were non-guests roaming the hotel hallways during the night. Overall experience: If you are hosting a Halloween party then choose these hotel, trust me you won’t need much decoration. The hotel is already spooky and the personnel will make you feel like you won’t survived the night. 🫢

Lobby closes at 6pm, so I was not abe to heat my food up. There is only 1 microwave which is located in the lobby.

Bed was hard, not enough pillows and the biggest disappointment was NO CABLE

No towels or wash cloths No ashtrays in a "smoking room". Desk informed me that management ordered no more ashtrays to be placed in rooms. No TV channel guide No local shopping or restaurant guide Glaze peeling from tub No desk chair at desk No microwave No refrigerator No coffee maker Only ice machine or drink machine were located behind office on the other end of the building No hooks or racks to hang coats or clothes Holes in walls patched but not painted No dial tone on room phone No comforter on bed. Only two sheets and a thin blanket No clock or radio in room for alarm purposes No iron No toiletries (shampoo, lotion, etc.) No hair dryer No cable TV. Only broadcast TV with reception so bad that most channels were unviewable Bed assembled improperly leaving mattress retainers exposed and protruding to strike ankle on 3 small pillows on a king size bed

Please do not go by the photos shown. Rooms are not even close to what photos show. Caulk by sink is cracked, yellow and with mold all around. Everything is stained. Sheets and towels. Bathroom door had a big hole from one side to the other and was covered with a ball of toilet paper. Entrance and bathroom doors do not close properly. Tv didn't work in either room either as I had to change. I had to also go and purchase a sheet to cover the bed and pillow. No blanket was available either. Pillows have been washed so much that it was just a ball of cotton. The walls and edgings were extremely dirty and stained. The room next door had guests smoking ********* and the smell was extremely strong and I had my little ones with me. Faucet was broken and had to push it really hard to be able to open it and brush our teeth. It was not what I expected at all. Thankfully we were only there to sleep and nothing more. But again, I had to go and purchase sheets and blankets to cover entire bed and be able to lay. It was a family emergency and last minute trip so really had no other choice.

When i arrived i was told they had overbooked and since my plane got in late they had already given it away. I asked how could that happened since i reserved it with my credit card. Antonio apologized and said the motel had overbooked long before i arrived.

This was the absolute basic you could get. The pics I viewed did not match what we walked into. The ceiling is peeling, there’s a large table/desk but no chair, there are only enough towels for one person, despite there being 2 beds, there are holes in the walls, in lamp shades, the furniture is way banged up, and there are no tv channels. Tv goes to 99, but you only get local channels, and anything else just had “direct tv” bouncing on it. Also, no wifi password was given, but it’s definite asked for.

It was disgusting!!!! The bath tub had no enamel left on it. Someone sqeezed caulking between counter and base and it was coming out!!! There was a phone in the room but it didn't work. Half the lights didn't work. We booked for two nights but only stayed one! We feel we should get reimbursed for the second night!! The shape of the bed was terrible. Will be telling anyone who will listen to never stay there and not go through *******, you should do your homework about these places!!!
