Hotel Cap Negret

We had a fabulous 3 night break and absolutely loved it. The hotel was immaculately clean, the pool was fabulous and seafront views amazing. We stayed on a full board basis and we were thoroughly impressed with the food. Super healthy options, plenty gluten free etc. We enjoyed the 20 minutes walk into the centre of Altea and easy access to neighbouring resorts by the hourly bus.

Lovely and clean, staff welcoming. Food good quality and varied, but food needs to be hotter. Children need to be properly supervised by their parents as they ran around causing havoc in communal areas, staff should step in and curtail this as they can cause injury to themselves and others. Yuri and his manager were very professional in their roles regarding the Spa and Wellness. We were not advised on the free shuttle bus which we read about in the other reviews. But we will definitely come back again, overall a lovely experience.

This is our third visit to this hotel. I'll start with the good.. hotel is always clean, food is nice and staff are quick to sort any issues. Good location. It's a good place for (what should be) a nice quiet relaxing holiday directly on the beach. Its fine for families with young children but totally unsuitable for kids from 5 up to teens as there is nothing for them to do. Hence this weekend older kids clearly bored have been running around corridors shouting and screaming, slamming doors, riding the lifts and making life generally miserable for the residents. On Thursday this went on until gone midnight. More of same on Friday. Now the worst bit, the hotel occasionally host weddings and communions but this is generally held in a segregated area at end of dining room or the dedicated function room. I say occasionally as that was during our previous stays, this time it's been different. One wedding, two or three business events and then today an annual ladies dinner in the dining room. All of these, especially the latter, have made the place noisy and unbearable for us and the other guests. I have now cancelled my booking for next year and will never return to what was our favourite hotel in Spain. In my eyes this hotel has become all about squeezing people in to make more money, holding additional events at the expense of the residents. I have asked to speak to the manager first thing Monday morning when l will make my feelings known. Appalling holiday.

My wife and my 18 month old son are just about to complete our 7-night stay in this hotel. It has been an absolute pleasure. The service, from the first greeting to our last meal, has been second to none. We arrived and we had a ground floor room. Our balcony door would not shut properly. We reported this and it was fixed straight away. It was very warm in the rooms as this time of year they do not have the air conditioning running. This made it tricky to have an undisturbed sleep for the first couple of nights. When I discussed this with the front desk, without hesitation, they put a fan into our room. What is even better is that they then called us the next day to ensure we had had a comfortable night. Excellent service. The food choice is excellent. Breakfast varies daily and has something for everyone. Evening meals always has enough to be well fed although some nights tend to be better than others. On those nights, I just piled my plate with the delicious fresh prawns. The service in the restaurant was fab. All the servers were great with our little boy. Bar prices are very reasonable and service is great. Evening entertainment was consistently good. Not lots and lots for the children but it is not a family focussed hotel and the children made their own entertainment and it didn’t seem to bother the staff or guests. The setting of the hotel is beautiful. A lovely chilled pool area, straight into the beach and into the sea. If you want to explore the beach and go for a swim, I would advise bringing some water shoes as it’s a stone beach. Altea is a short walk one way with a plethora of bars and restaurants and the amazing old town and in the opposite direction is a lovely walk with some great little places to enjoy also. We have had an absolutely delightful time! Will be returning at some point!

We had a very enjoyable 2 night breakaway in this hotel with my husband, brother and sister in law. We arrived on the 22nd Oct and there was just a little bit of confusion with our booking ( only 1 room booked) .But the woman in reception ( curly hair and glasses Miah??) was very nice and pleasant and after a few minutes had us sorted and the room provided. We were so relieved and greatful for her efficiency and friendliness. We had stayed in this hotel previously and it was lovely to return again with family. Staff as always very pleasant and friendly and our room was very comfortable. The pool area is great and sun beds really comfortable. We enjoyed the food also. Next time we will bring the beach shoes and being Irish, we all love to swim in the sea. !

Before I start the review I would just like to say that this hotel has very good staff who aim to please, it is one of the cleanest hotels we have ever visited and has a very relaxed atmosphere, BUT........ I think that this hotel has been very much over starred, it has a four star rating but in fact it is more like a three star. Why I hear you ask? well it's mainly the food that lets it down, although the food was well cooked and didn't cause us any problem it was very hard to get a meal that was hot. A microwave is provided but I expect food in a four star hotel to be put out hot and even when they replenished the trays they were still gold or luke warm at best. I also had a problem trying to get a drink in the restaurant, I asked for a Bacardi and coke and was told that they only served water or wine! the bar is located not twenty foot outside the restaurant door but I had to get up and go to the bar myself. The food is also very limited in variety with the same thing on the menu night after night with only slight differences in the way it was presented. But has I've already said the staff are very helpful and always smile even though they appear to do long hours , We stayed at this hotel for two weeks and although the night time entertainment wasn't the best it was ok, we generally had a drink in the bar area and a game of cards in the evening. I had expected due to the very large TV screen that they may show football at night but when I asked if they would put the England game on the bar staff said it was only on local tv which in this case was ITV from the UK and it wasn't available on that tv although it was available on our tv in our room! but that tv service stopped and skipped to the Cap Negret home page| then low and behold when Spain played that was shown on the big screen in the bar! The hotel grounds to the back of the hotel is very nice with a wooden pagoda down one side which offers shade when the heat gets too much and we used it most days, that is when we could! one day out of each week that we stayed at the hotel they had private parties and cordoned it off, one was a christening I think and one was a wedding, the latter in the evening also took over the area adjacent to the bar area where at night hotel guests sat to talk or play games forcing them mostly to go to their rooms| again in my opinion this shouldn't happen in a four star hotel, when people have payed good money to stay at a hotel they should be able to use all facilities for there entire stay!

Good quality hotel in a great location, right on the beach. The staff all provide an excellent high standard service. We were booked in a side sea view room on the 5th floor. This is the highest floor. We had a great sea view with the sun of an afternoon/evening. The breakfast and evening meal was outstanding, with an excellent varied choice of hot and cold dishes. All buffet style. The chefs provide freshly made omelette, poached, or fried eggs of a morning. Of an evening Chef's again provided freshly cooked fish and meat dishes. There are lots of staff around the food areas keeping supplies freshly topped up. There is an option to sit inside or outside. The standard of cleanliness in the hotel was very good. We found all the staff friendly, professional and helpful. Always smiling and courteous. The hotel offers a free return shuttle bus that takes you to the old town, which is uphill, and to the nearby promenade . Both locations have a good variety of restaurants, cafes, and bars. It is only a 10 min leisurely walk left out of the hotel to the lower part of town and the prom. To the right out of the hotel, another 10 min leisurely walk you can drop down onto a harbour / prom that has 2 local bars to eat & drink. Prices for snacks and drinks were very reasonable, 3 euros for a glass of wine and 5 € for the cocktail of the day. The local bus stop is directly outside the hotel. We took a bus to nearby Calpe , which has a lovely sandy beach. We were booked bed and breakfast for 7 nights via Jet 2. Whilst there we booked direct at reception for evening dinner at a cost of €14 per person. Wow, great value and well worth it !! Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel .
