Nice hotel in a quiet village at the top of the hill.
We arrived late and left early the next day. The staff was kind, though we sensed some slightly unusual vibes. The breakfast, however, was a bit underwhelming.

È una bettola ….ma la gerenza cerca di proporre una carta menu con piatti sofisticati dimenticando che non sono a Portofino e che la loro arroganza è indigesta. Flop su tutta la linea, provare per credere… Dovrebbero tornare alle origini con piatti tipici e caratteristici….altro che branzino ed orata….. Il cibo è buono, c'è poco da dire, ma il personale è l’arroganza per definizione.

Tra arte e natura il Castagno é una location particolare dove la selva castagnole circostante, si ritrova nell’elegante e raffinato ambiente interno. Tutto il team merita un plauso per la grande professionalità, come pure nell’estro nel proporre piatti di grande qualità, che seguono la stagione. Il nuovo chef di cucina, con cura e fantasia di gusti, delizia anche nella presentazione dei piatti i palati più esigenti. Da diversi anni frequentiamo questo Ristorante e la capacità di innovazione e miglioramento é in costante miglioramento. Bravi!

Girovagando per il Malcantone, regione bellissima da visitare, ci siamo imbattuti in questo ristorante. I piatti sono piaciuti molto a tutti. Il personale è gentile e molto disponibile. Ci siamo sentiti a casa, immersi nel verde con in sottofondo lo scampanellio delle mucche. Assolutamente da consigliare. Ci torneremo. PS: per me qui si mangia la migliore selvaggina di tutta la zona

Ottima sella capriolo a 63fr a persona tenera e dalle porzioni abbondanti. Buono anche il contorno con spätzli, cavolini di Bruxelles non amari, frutta e castagne. Nota negativa il vino rosso per esempio un merlot da 9.90 venduto a 42 (!) a mio avviso assurdo e non solo in questo ristorante.

Das Personal ist super freundlich und das Zimmer war sauber. Nach dem Motto „klein aber fein“. Das Frühstück sowie das Abendessen im Restaurant war sehr gut. Alles in allem sehr zu empfehlen. Auch unserem Junior gefiehl es.

Sono stato due notti al Castagno e a partire dalla cortesia dello staff, la qualità del ristorante e il confort della camera è stata senz'altro un'esperienza molto positiva. Ho viaggiato da solo con la mia e-bike e ho potuto usufruire di un deposito sicuro per la mia bicicletta con la possibilità di caricarla in piena sicurezza. Riguardo al menu segnalo in particolare la sensazione di qualità della materia prima e, per esperienza diretta, la preparazione delle carni e dei dessert! Pizza molto buona, non me l'aspettavo! Ho soggiornato in una dependance non lontana dall'albergo ristorante dal momento che non c'era posto in hotel ma la camera era veramente bella e spaziosa. Silenziosissimo l'intorno, materassi comodi.
