From the ‘meet and greet’ at the bus station to the hand delivered breakfast tray in our room the staff could not do enough to ensure we had a great time in Amalfi. Situated in the main square this place was more than just your ordinary hotel room. Split over 2 levels with the bedroom above a vast lounge the room was right next door to the Cathedral and overlooked St Andrew’s fountain. The room itself was bright with traditional high ceilings and original tiled floor. The only down side, if you can call it that, was the smaller than average shower cubicle. But that was a minor point. Breakfast was delivered to your room in the morning to enjoy at the comfort of your own dining table overlooking the piazza as it came to life

2 locations - we had the sea view one which was excellent - a bit of a challenge walking with luggage to the hotel after getting off the ferry but the view and the room makes up for it. The location is great - very convenient. The room security was good as was the safe in the room. The drinks were fine. The coffee machine a bit suspect but that is a small glitch overall,

We stayed in the large double room. A lovely room, right next to the cathedral and overlooking the square. It is so close to the beach and the bust stop/ferry port. Loads of restaurants around. The room has everything you need and had loads of space. The tiles on the floor are beautiful and charming. The room had good supplies such as tea bags and coffee and even Nutella, jam and an Italian cracker bread which was a nice touch; the only thing missing was milk. The shower was very good and the bed was very comfy. Air con was very good. A couple of things would have made our stay even more perfect. The room Key card was the key for the electricity, which I know is common, however unusually the air con didn’t work without it, which meant that when we returned to the room after a day out, the room was warm and the fridge was no longer cold, meaning our milk had gone off and our water was warm. I would consider changing this to give guests a more comfortable stay. The best thing about this room is the wonderful host who came and met us at the port, gave us a warm welcome and gave us great recommendations. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Walking into our room at Dimore de Luca, the first thing that came to mind is wow. The view of the Amalfi bay is gorgeous and we felt so excited. We didn't care that the bedroom was barely big enough to contain the bed, or that the shower was so tiny you had to duck your head to step into it, or that the mattress wasn't very comfortable. We thought the view would make up for it. But little did we know what we had coming. This building is directly adjacent to the main highway Amalfi tunnel. Actually, that's understating it. The building is built into the tunnel so it is literally the other side of the tunnel that surrounds the main highway for all of Amalfi coast. In other words, any car that goes up and down the highway from Napoli or Positano or anywhere to Amalfi or Revello or anywhere South passes through your bedroom (my car's GPS claims that it's a 90 kmh highway). If they would have taken precautions to create proper insulation maybe the situation would have been better, but unfortunately every car or bike that passes by sounds like it's inside your bedroom. As you could imagine, we were woken up by cars and motorcycles throughout the night, at midnight, 1am, 2am, all through the morning. The worst was at 3am when there was a group of motorcycles having a party right outside our room and the sound was so deafening it was unbareable. Next morning I went to share my experience with the front desk but guess what, they don't even have a front desk, at least not in the building. They directed me to walk 10min away to the center of town - this is just an apartment building that was converted to a budget hotel. We checked out and moved to Hotel La Bussola which is just 2-3 min walk away and world's apart. Can't believe it was about the same price and we got a luxurious 4-star hotel at that price with a beautiful ocean facing balcony - I feel like we got scammed. Dimore de Luca isn't really worth more than 50 EUR per night tops. Even then, I'd argue you're better off pitching a tent on the cliff in a spot with a view. At least then you'd be able to pick a spot without car traffic.

Extremely central location, we were literally next door to the cathedral and the main square was right in front of the building. In close proximity to the beach, a pharmacy and many shops. The room was amazing, we loved the furniture and the hand painted tiles on the floor. The shower cabin was a bit tight but we managed. All in all a great, beautiful and clean location.
