Staybridge Suites Amarillo-Western Crossing

On the surface this place looked nice, but once we got to our room it was a different story. The carpet was stained and sticky, but I was willing to look past this. It got worse though. My husband and three kids went asleep, I found cockroaches running on the little kitchen counter, on the wall, and the floor. I woke everyone up and we left. They did not give us our money back, they only gave us a $40 discount. We were on the second floor and more towards the middle of the building. If the roaches were on the second floor in the middle of the building, then that means they are in the walls and not coming from an exterior door.

There are budget motels in third world countries cleaner than this dump. It is the grossest, stinkiest place I've ever stayed at. It's hard to describe, but here goes: Canned Chef Boyardee Ravioli + Cat Urine... that's what the whole place smells like. The floors are filthy... sticky. We were just afraid to touch anything. The maids are too busy blasting their norteño music in the hallways or talking on their cell phones to actually clean. When you ask them for something simple, like a towel... they say "no English" The staff is rude and arrogant. Learn how to smile and be pleasant... and clean, you're in the the hospitality business. This place is a disaster, stay elsewhere.

The outside of the hotel looked nice. However our room was a different story. There were ants in our room, along with very dirty walls and furniture. The front desk was very nice and offered a different room. It was less dirty but still gross. Will not return! Housekeeping needs to learn how to clean properly.

We had to make a quick decision on a place to spend the night after we experienced a flat tire after dinner and all tire stores etc were closed for the evening. Our room was equipped with a kitchen, living room and 2 comfy queen beds! Great night sleep.

The air conditioning is terrible! Our first room was 88° so they moved us to another room. It was 77° and never got any cooler all night. The kitchen area was nasty with hair everywhere. The bathroom sink sprayed water in your face and all over the room when you turned it on. If we hadn’t checked in so late we would’ve tried to go somewhere else but we will not be back. The outside and hall temp was significantly cooler than the rooms.

Hotel allowed my 8 yr. old 80lb+ German Shepherd to stay with us in the hotel during a power outage at our home [severe winter storm snapped several power poles]. We were quite pleased with the amenities. The evening snack and breakfast were quite nice as well. Overall a pleasant experience in a time of disaster.

We stayed here one night passing through. Hotel was dirty, they overcharged us for the pet fee, side entry doors did not work, dog poop all over property. Definitely one of the less well taken care of hotels I’ve stayed at.

Having stayed here, I know this is not a Holiday inn, and as I write this, keep that in mind. Several issues arise I shall mention them. In the bathroom, The toilet paper dispenser is missing a side. The shower is very good however the pipe holding the shower head is loose. The room is really well decorated It has a kitchenette which is really nice. When we first got here and we came up to our room we noticed as soon as we got off the elevator there was a bag of trash and it was one across from our hall I had called downstairs to say it smelled like rotting garbage up here. 30 minutes nothing had been done i went down the to the front desk and complained again again about 15 to 20 minutes go by and nothing was done. Finally the two bags one off the elevator and one beside door we're both taking care of however The bag across from our room was there smelling horrendous and my wife noticed dog poop on the carpet next to the bag. I finally went down as I'm walking down, I see a lady I said excuse me ma'am, are you with housekeeping she said yes I ask her nicely can you please take care of the bag up there It is smelling the entire room up the entire hallway everything It was finally taken care of. The fact I had to complain three times to get everything fixed is not really good. Additionally I am allergic to pillows that are feather, I called down the front desk and they have three non-feather pillows for us however I had previously asked when I made a reservation. Now I will say this on the positive note I was supposed to stay two nights down here, and I got stuck at work because I got an admission I'm a nurse by trade, and they were nice enough to just wave that one last night without charging me. That was very accommodating. The rate that I paid is significantly lower than a Holiday inn. Considering everything in here it's not a bad hotel it's a very good value the customer service people really try. Most of the things ,wrong in the room, could be fixed in a day. It doesn't affect the sleep quality Nor me taking a shower not anything that affects the quality of the room. These are just things I observed. Customer service is really trying I can see that if you want a good quality room and you don't mind a little glitches so to speak. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Hotel needs better management and maintenance. Carpet and chairs we dirty, in room coffee machine had old coffee still in it from previous stay, no extra blankets. Breakfast was okay with wide selection. I will be looking for a new hotel in future visits.
