Amherst Inn - Virginia

Very convenient and welcoming rooms are very clean and tidy with a range of beverages and treats and a good welcome pack beds are comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Very easy to check in and check out. There are also some good local restaurants nearby parking is also very easy being right outside the door.

Great place! Very well maintained and clean! Pleasant owner. Very kind and knowledgeable about the area! If ever in the vicinity we will definitely stay there again. Close to restaurants and grocery store. Room very well stocked with amenities and snacks!

What a pleasant surprise! Upon pulling in to the parking lot, my immediate reaction was "what did I do?" we were the only car in the lot besides the inn keepers car. Upon entering our room, I was impressed, they offered items that no big chain hotel would offer you. A basket nicely put together with every thing you may have forgotten to pack! The room and bathroom were very clean, and cozy. The innskeeper was kind. I asked 'where are all of the people?" (since we were the only car in the lot!) he said many canceled due to the hurricane. When we returned from the wedding we were attending, the lot was practically full! I guess some who didn't have a reservation took a chance, many license plates were from out of state. I'm glad I booked at Amherst Inn. You won't be sorry you did either. PS You will be charged a $100 incidental fee (in case you damage the room) on your debit/credit card - don't be alarmed, I got mine back within hours of departing.

This was a last minute change in my travel schedule. I’m happy the Inn was conveniently located. The beds are only full sized, but that’s what I have at home. The bed was soft and comfortable. I slept well. Furnished nicely. They obviously care about your stay.

Very pleasantly surprised. For an unassuming small motel, every effort was made to provide everything you need. Complimentary snacks, toiletries, microwave, refrigerator, full-length mirror, wall-mounted magnifying mirror, coffee pot, popcorn. It was great!

Great one night stay! Cozy, clean and adorable. The shower had serious water pressure; something you rarely enjoy when traveling. This ice machine was broken and it was about 100 degrees out! Lack of ice was the only negative I can think of. Well that and the fact that the Inn was already booked solid the days needed for my next trip to Amherst !

An updated and remodeled motel room with everything you need and right in downtown Amherst. I have traveled all over the world and this is the best outfitted room I have ever stayed in. For example, plenty of double hooks for hanging items plus a rod and clothes hangers; snacks to go with the coffee maker, tea bags and hot chocolate mix; microwave and refrigerator; padded bench and chair to sit on; night light in the bathroom which has toiletries you might need; rain shower head in the shower; plenty of pillows and bedding; notebook with information including area restaurants. I would stay there again. The owners were on-site and most helpful.

Superb small hotel with very comfortable beds and pillows. They had more free amenities than many of the larger hotels. I highly recommend this and owners were very friendly and helpful. Located in a small town with plenty of information on available activities.

Normally, we avoid inns and motels but when I looked at previous reviews decided to take a chance. Wow! Our room was beautifully remodeled, small but cozy. They took the time to carefully have in-room items. Items that you might did not think you might need. The information package was details and nicely organized. They suggested a locally owned breakfast restaurant....did not disappoint. Check in was quick. Would definitely stay again!
