Please guys read all the reviews, is so true is the worse place to stay in Amsterdam, yes is close to the places but when ready to come back to your room nightmare starts room , cold as f.. , dirty , looks more like dungeon . I just agree with all of you reviews, I will leave the hotel Wednesday and I will post all my reviews with pics included and how one of the receptionist host was so nasty with her answers to me .

So we booked this hotel for a weekend break on *********** where the reviews were meh, then saw the reviews on other sites and became very concerned. Due to that, we came quite prepared! I will try to address the points from other reviews below, but quick points before that: Positives: - Location - Friendly staff - Cheap Negatives - Mould - Poor design of rooms - No food or drinks allowed in rooms - Tiny, awkward bathroom space - No wardrobe space Check-in was very easy and the lady on staff was lovely. *********** had confirmed there would be a fee on arrival so we weren't shocked, in fact the cost we got charged on arrival was less than we had been told on the booking, so we were quite happy. Entry to the building was via key card so no issues coming and going. The room was on the third floor and as some said there was no lift. This wasn't an issue for us as we took backpacks for the weekend and it wasn't a lot of steps, but even if on the ground floor I am not sure if the hotel can be called mobility friendly - the bathroom sink was very close to the toilet and it was a sideways shuffle to get between the sink and toilet to the shower. We managed, but it's really poor bathroom design and I would say they are very much due a refurbishment. Onto the rooms.... There were no amenities beyond the absolute basics. The room had a small table, 2 chairs, the bed, and little bedside table spaces. The decor is definitely out of the 70s... carpeted, there are mirrors on every wall for some reason and the walls were thin enough that people knocking on the door opposite us often confused us thinking they were knocking on our door. The door was also a little heavy so annoying to open, and for some reason the plug sockets are on the wall about a metre off the ground opposite the bed, so you can't put your phone beside you and charge while sleeping. Once again, just poor design. We think there may have been a wardrobe as there was a little white door by the bed but the handle was busted so it couldn't be opened, so as far as we could see we didn't have wardrobe space. There were also no hooks anywhere, so we had to leave our clothes in our bags, with the bags placed on the chairs provided. I have seen other pics with functioning wardrobes so it may have been just our room. The hotel provided towels but they were quite small, we brought our own microfibre towels and they were superior. I would definitely recommend bringing a towel, even if you can manage with theirs. However, don't expect a change of linens as the towels weren't changed while we were there. Other than the hand soap in the bathroom, that's it for the amenities. There is no kettle, fridge, etc. We were aware of this from checking online so not a shock, but don't go expecting these to be there. When checking in, they let us know there were tea and coffee facilities downstairs in the mornings. We didn't use them so can't judge - they were usually open 9-12 and 2-6 (I think) so we never had t

I booked this hotel fully aware that this is a centrally located budget friendly hotel in Amsterdam. Therefore I am rating it as it should be. Yes, amenities are bare minimum, no toiletries at all but we were provided with a hand soap, toilet papers and towels which are ok with us. I always bring my own toiletries anyway. The room is a little tight with old carpet and yes insulation is poor, we can hear people talking loudly outside the street and banging of neighboring room doors. This is one of the original centuries-old buildings so expect no elevator and tight and steep stairs. We were lucky enough to be granted the room in 2nd floor at a very short notice as I forgot to request while booking. The front desk is very accommodating and friendly and even helps us check bus/metro sched to travel outside Amsterdam.

Dreadful hotel, no shower gel, no teas and coffees, mould in the room, thin bedding that was too short on the bed, tiny bath towels. You could hear every noise in the hotel because of thin walls. Never again. They tried to charge us €160 extra when we arrived. Lucky I had receipts showing that I had already paid taxes and only had to pay £46 on arrival.

First of all, the staff were super friendly, its a budget hotel, and the location is perfect, aside from these 3 excellent points, I couldn’t rate it 3 stars which is “average”. I have to give it two stars because i was solo and the very top floor and the rain was leaking through the ceiling water into my room, there was signs of mold, the heater was useless so I was freezing throughout the night. The toilet was inside the shower room and the water pressure was very very low. I really felt like a stowaway living in a closet. I was spending the day wishing the day wouldn’t end so I have to return to this hotel. My advice is just prepare what you pay for. Bring your own bath towel, pillow, extra blankets, or fan motor for the summer.

If you are a student AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! We were greeted with €119 of a charge which the man serving us couldn’t explain what for. I asked for an invoice for our charges that we never received…My boyfriend and I are both students working part time to save up for nice cheap and cheerful getaways and as if being €119 down starting our holiday wasn’t bad enough our room was desperate. Mirrors all over our room and bathroom which made us both feel extremely uncomfortable, as if we were being watched. The room was very small with limited facilities. The toilet was tiny with no place to put makeup, toiletries etc. the shower had no shower stand so if you were to take a shower you were expected to hold the shower head while showering? Our room was not serviced at all for the duration of our stay. We had to buy our own toilet paper and reuse our towels, we could not ask for more as the reception was always closed during the day. While checking out we received a very blunt exchange from presumably the owner of the “hotel” who told us we were to be checked out a half an hour ago but how we were to know that having never been informed of a check out time was beyond me? Safe to say my boyfriend and I were very disappointed with our stay and will not be returning. Again, I would like to preface I booked this hotel based on location and value for money but I was definitely not expecting such a low standard of hospitality :( was definitely a let down and an overall dampener to our otherwise lovely trip.

Worst hotel I think I’ve ever stayed in, 2 young lads working there were okay and the woman on reception on our last day was really helpful, however the old owner and her husband were very ignorant, we got charged 120 euro “city tax” and hidden charges did not receive any invoice or itemised bill. Room was cleaned the first day in a 4 day stay and then not again, no toilet paper in the rooms bin was left full, bed wasn’t changed was just dressed, and on our last day we checked out at 11:20 and the owner said we were late as checkout was 11, however the reception was closed 90% of the time we were there. Owners are conmen and are running a bad hotel, would not recommend for anybody. Rooms are terrible and the only good thing was the other staff and pug in the hotel. Avoid this place

They should rebuild whole hotel, very dilapidate and tiny room, dirty. No facilities at all even drink water. No hot water to have bath, toilet was slippery and dirty. We rented for 4 nights, they had to pay EUR80 for cleaning fee but no cleaning service Too bad
