Excellent location, really friendly staff and very comfortable room.

Pricey but good hotel stay

A little narrow but very well located

Nice hotel close to the train station and popular attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful with any questions that we had. Greenwoods restaurant is right down the road, and there is also a nice bagel/breakfast place on the same block.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Small room but very comfortable, clean, and relatively quiet considering how close to the bustling tourist areas it is. Very convenient to the train station and kind staff. The breakfast/lounge area was a fantastic place to sit in peace with a coffee and get some work done.

The hotel is perfectly located near train station and main attractions, the room was great, the breakfast though lacked vegan options. The person at the reception was very helpfull - she helped us print train tickets, recommended nearby locations and warned about coming extreme weather.

The hotel was great! Friendly front desk and everyone spoke English. Easy and fast check-in. Affordable breakfast in the morning. The rooms are small, but that’s to be expected in the middle of Amsterdam. The room had a direct view of the canal outside. The hotels is a great option for people arriving via train. Only a short walk to Central Station

Positive was the good location, especially for Central station if you want to take day trips. The reasons for the poor review is the room size was tiny and so was the bed. The soundproofing was awful. Every time someone went to the toilet or had a shower you could hear it so loudly. As you would expect, people would come in late at night but you wouldn't expect to hear the doors slamming and hear the people in the rooms so loudly. These factors made it impossible to sleep well. I appreciate it is an old building and some people can also probably sleep through noise better than I can (although I can see some other reviews that have had similar issues), but it was the extent of the noise.

Very charming hotel right in the heart of Old Town. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. Be prepared for extremely small rooms. The pictures on the website literally show all the room that there is, but I expect this is common for any hotel in this area. Having 2 bags by myself was a challenge! This hotel is conveniently located to the train station which is a 10 minute walk away and also close to local trams to take you around the city. Splurge for the canal view. You won't be disappointed!

Lovely stay here for three nights. Very close to Amsterdam Centraal so very convenient arriving on the Nightjet from Zurich and also for catching the Metro as part of my trip to Kuekenhof. Staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive and provided early check in access to room. Lovely complementary gift on arrival in the room - thank you. Breakfast selection was generous. Within walking distance to many lovely restaurants and also the Anne Frank House. Tip: there are five rather steep steps down to reception, not an issue for me but just good to know when travelling with considerable luggage. Would highly recommend.

A great hotel in a great location! I read a lot of reviews over several months and so glad I went with this hotel! Staff was very nice and helpful. We arrived to the hotel early (around 9 am) on a Sunday morning after an overnight flight and were excited when they had our room ready in 30 minutes and they welcomed us into the lounge area and coffee:) We had a double room with a canal view - room 14 which just enough space for 2 people. The shower had great pressure , the bed was comfortable and they provided daily housekeeping always replenishing our towels, and espresso for the in room coffee machine! The room is stuffy so the small fan was helpful and also for white noise. Our room was on the first level and the canal street view was surprisingly not noisy. We heard a few thuds on the floors above but nothing to complain about. They have a nice store area with snacks, drinks and souvenirs all which were priced similar to other stores. The complimentary souvenirs are so sweet also! The location is great walkable to Anne Frank, Jordaan neighborhood, red light and really anything you could want. We even walked 2 miles to the windmill brewery but we love to walk also haha! As someone who reads a lot of reviews I can definitely say this hotel was a great choice!

We enjoyed our stay at Singel. The hotel is a 5-10 minute, easy walk from the train station. It is located on a quiet street along a canal. It was very safe and close to restaurants. We had a room with 3 twins and it was a good size. The beds were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was clean and had an ok blow dryer. Our canal view was through a very small window. That was the only disappointment, but we would stay again.

Beautiful little hotel. Stayed for three nights. Hotel reception has snacks and drinks for sale. Within walking distance to everywhere. The area is quiet at night so peaceful to get a good night's sleep. A little gift was left in room upon our arrival, which was much appreciated and a thoughtful gesture. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend to family and friends.
