The scenery is very good. It should be the best hotel in the town. The service is also good. The taxi I called to the airport arrived on time.

Excellent location, development meets all the conditions to be the best on the island, however it appears to be severely constrained by resources. Cleanliness is not good in the rooms, it is clear that they do superficial cleaning, the room has nothing but the mini bar, hygiene products seem to be mixed with water to render, breakfasts are very poor, few options, little care, poor quality, little food. The pool has cold water and the jacuzzi is not inviting… 5 star hotel that shouldn't have more than 3 for the services provided, regrettable!

The reception guy, the fat guy i think Leandro smelled really bad was so rude wille explaining the hotel stuff, kept seated all the time, did not look to know much about reception, even less at a 5* hotel, the girls that were there were really nice and helpfull, about the breakfast, it was good but a bit repetitive, elevator not working, our room had previus guests items in.. after all that.. the experience was horrible, not recomended

This hotel is not all that it's cracked up to be. Their website is pure fantasy - beautiful images of a harborside hotel complete with 5 -star service and accommodations. Quite the contrary. The only thing "good" about this hotel is its location and even that won't be ideal for many travelers as it requires a steep walk uphill with your luggage to reach the main lobby. And, once you get there don't think for a second you will be greeted warmly by staff. In fact, don't even ask if it's possible for an early check-in despite the hotel itself being a veritable ghost town. After arriving a bit early from the US we were told we had to wait until exactly 3pm to check in. This struck me as odd because the hotel was clearly not sold out. My husband and I came back to Terceira for our 5-year anniversary. We stayed at the Angra Marina hotel during our honeymoon and I don't recall it being as lackluster a stay as when we went back earlier this month. We were incredibly disappointed. 1. The hotel itself needs a facelift including working thermostats in the guest rooms (during a heat wave with temps in the 90s there was no a/c). 2. The pool/hot tub area is abominable for a hotel that claims to be 4-5 stars. 3. The elevators weren't working properly so getting to your floor meant building in at least an extra 10 minutes. Might as well just take the stairs in the stifling heat instead. 4. We were grossly overcharged for drinks at the bar and when we noticed and alerted the front desk about it upon check out, we weren't greeted with a "customer is always right" attitude. Ultimately it was rectified but not without convincing. 5. The guest rooms, while clean, had no character and a ton of useless space. It felt haphazard as if there was no consideration taken into the overall guest experience. 6. Overall, the atmosphere here is sterile, depressing, and well...just sad. Don't be lured in by the modern looking lobby because everything else is dated. I felt as though this was a hotel that was gobbled up by time - the type you see in photos after a nuclear attack where buildings are just left to rot. Buyer beware.

This hotel has been the worst hotel I have ever stayed in the city of Angra!! Supposedly a five star hotel with the worst customer service!!! I personally wouldn't give it even two stars, the first day I arrived at the hotel when I got to the room I realized that the internet and air conditioning were not working and I went to the reception to let them know that neither one thing nor the other was working and they didn't have towels for the pool either... the most frustrating thing is that some people who work here at this hotel are not trained to serve the customer and solve the needs of their clients. I personally do not recommend this hotel to anyone, there are many other options in the city for less money and better quality….

Nice staff and the rooms were big and clean. During the busy hour of the breakfast (9am), many itens were finished and took more than 30 minutes to replace. Not much variety of food. The pool area is not big enough for the number of guests in the hotel.

A really nice hotel with perfect view over the marina! Staff was very polite and helpful. A lot of choice for breakfast - could also eat outside on balconies. Brilliant! The room was huge and clean and the AC worked well! Big bathroom with a lot of space for everything! We enjoyed our stay soooo much!

My partner and I stayed at the Angra Marina Hotel late November 2023. The Hotel was located in Angra Do Heroismo overlooking Mount Brazil and the harbor. IT was a perfect location for our walking adventures and we took in the beautiful city of Angra Do Heroismo enjoying the local beauty of the town, the cafes, shops and of course the wonderful Christmas lights displaying the festivities of what was to come later in the month The front desk staff were wonderful, accommodating and the hotel's comfort and restaurant and breakfasts were great and we began our day in the beautiful dining room and end of day the comforts of our very nice hotel room. We could not have found a better place for our stay in Terceira as we journeyed from there to Lisbon and Porto but retained the wonderful memories of or stay at the Angra Marina Hotel! IT was wonderful!

The worst 5 star hotel ever, 3 star at best. The reception staff are rude, the night staff are worse, the hotel is unclean, mould and orange residue all over bathroom, the food/breakfast is awful. I was asked to move rooms, which was not an issue. However, no assistance was offered. Which from a 5 star facility i would except at least an offer, due to the room change being the hotels fault due to a leak. The only positive are the staff in resteraunt who are helpful and friendly.

THIS IS NOT A 5-STAR HOTEL! When my husband and I arrived at the hotel the lobby was deserted. There was no doorman or bellman to help with our luggage. The huge lobby with worn-out furniture was empty. There was no one at the front desk. Behind the front desk was a board that was taped up. Clearly, these were all uncharacteristic of a 5-star hotel. This is a one-star compared to the 5-star and 4-star hotels we stayed at on another Azores island, Sao Miguel. I thought the taxi dropped us off at the wrong hotel. A few minutes later, a lady came behind the front desk. She was not dressed in professional attire like what you normally see in nice hotels. To our disappointment, she confirmed that we were at the right hotel. Our room was not ready, and she asked us to bring our luggage ourselves to the storage room, which was dirty and smelly. My husband and I were disappointed with what we had seen so far and were quite nervous about the condition of our room. The room turned out quite spacious albeit sparse and dated furniture. We were at least relieved that it was clean and had no smell. However, many things malfunctioned - the A/C, toilet flush, coffee machine. We complained about the AC to the front desk. He was not surprised as he said it was a usual occurrence. He said the hotel was full and could not transfer us to another room. He promised to send a fan while he schedules a technician to come. Neither came. Thankfully, the temperature cooled down at night. My husband fixed the toilet flush himself. The other things we just let go. What is annoying about the room is that it does not have the typical light switches on the wall. You must use this weird remote control to turn on the lights, which should be easy to use but it was not. It kept turning on the wrong light. The breakfast room was huge with only one staff. It offered a not-too-appetizing breakfast buffet. You have to help yourself with coffee by lining up at 2 coffee machines, both of which kept breaking down. The only staff had to keep resetting them each time. The options for coffee machines included caffe latte and cappuccino, but they all came out as black coffee. I told the only staff that they seemed to forget to put milk in the machine, and she looked at me as if I was asking too much. The pool area looks very run down. It boasts of a pool bar but is not in use. There is a bar/restaurant on the top floor with no ambiance and is always almost empty. Too bad, because it had a lot of potential with its spaciousness and beautiful view of the marina. Our hiking guide mentioned that he had not met a single happy guest from this hotel. The only saving grace of this hotel is its location. To the front of it is the marina, to the left is the historic fort and the town is just a few minutes' walk away. Outside of this hotel, all of our experience in Terceira was 5-star.

Definitely not a 5 star, maybe back in the days when it was part of Barcelo group. While the hotel looks amazing on the cliff and has great big rooms and balconies it looks like it hasn't been kept up. Everything in the hotel and in the rooms is old and needs work. Things like the elevators that go random and stop at random. There is peeling paint all over a lot of balcony furniture and metal appliances are covered in rust. They do offer a pretty nice breakfast and the staff if very helpful. Also while the location seems nice it's on an extremely steep hill to walk in to the town.

We did not get off to a good start after arriving on a Saturday afternoon for a week’s stay. Unfortunately we were given incorrect information by the reception staff at checkin and when we arrived for diner at 9pm we were told the kitchen was closed and we could not be served. One member of staff suggested we got an Uber Eats!!! After complaining some more we were eventually served a buffet dinner. The rest of the week we were given a set menu which was not always 5 stars and sometimes contained pork despite our telling the staff several times that we did not eat pork. We were often the only diners so remembering our dietary requirements should not have been too hard. The breakfast buffet was good. The staff are nice and friendly but not all of them are properly trained, waiting staff in particular. As some other reviews mention the building specifications are high but the place is poorly maintained. We did not have any cleanliness issues - our room was cleaned and our towels changed daily. I suspect the close proximity to the sea accounts for some of the damp smell issues but these are made up by the good location. I have had to think long and hard about the star rating and wish there was a 3.5 as that would have been my choice.
