My first visit, with family to this off the beaten track pub, situated down a narrow country lane, on the Cornwall side, overlooking the river Tamar. Pre booked a table for Sunday roast. We tried the slow cooked beef brisket and the roast pork loin. A lovely welcome from the staff and superb service. A good selection from the bar. Try the Cornish stout. Dinner was wonderful, tasty, hot and plentiful. The atmosphere had a good buzz of people enjoying themselves. Very reasonably priced & excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Great find - very peaceful I’d actually booked in for a 2025 instead of 2024 by mistake but the manager (Jemma) was great in sorting this Food was great at the bar which is well stocked with many local delights.limited menu-but this is down to everything being freshly cooked. I overheard that the pie if the day was still in the oven and needed another half an hour. Stayed on a day with a very high tide. The cove is lovely but you can see the working port opposite which I found quite interesting The room had binoculars so you could watch. Room had a really good bed and a big bath which I made full use of for a very long soak.rm 2 Best Poached eggs I’ve had all year ( - some 30 stop overs so far) Open all year but I think this place would get very busy on a sunny summer day. It’s definitely my new favourite place when I’m in the area. Thanks again all

I have had the good fortune to experience a meal at this super location three times in the last few months. On each occasion I have meant to write a positive review on the great food and super experience that we have thoroughly enjoyed. Many years ago I was working in Bristol and was told by a work colleague how great the Wilcove Inn was. Until the recent management took over, I never found that to be the case. It is now that good that my 'hard to please' Mother in Law, insists that I take her there at least once on each occasion that she visits from Cambridge. The staff have been nothing but helpful on each of our visits and the food has been both plentiful and of a very good quality. Whilst all of the starters look very appetising, I fail to move beyond the Crispy Crab Stuffed Mushrooms. Our main courses have included the Tribute battered Jumbo Haddock,Tiger Prawn Curry,Pan seared Sea Bass Fillet and steak. All have been cooked to perfection. My only criticism is of myself for not having reviewed this great pub earlier and on each occasion that we have visited and that I now have to suffer more frequent visits from my Mother in Law as she loves to eat there!

Absolutely charming Inn. Very well located at the sea front. Very cosy and spacious bedrooms. Brand new and very clean. And a view by the window to the Sun rise. I recommend strongly. The Host is superb. Down the pub and the restaurant is serving enormous portion! Very happy of our one night stay.

What can I say? A most unusual of NYE parties but one of the best! Booked some time ago and looking towards the evening, it became a bit unnerving with the new restrictions, but we need not worry, all precautions were taken. The food was some of the best I have had in some time, crab stuffed mushrooms were off the chart! Both the steak and the sea bass were fantastic and can only give the highest recommendation! The room was amazing, airy, clean and very well presented, better than some I have paid a lot more to stay in. I could think of no better way on Jan 1 than to wake in almost total silence, just hearing some birds singing outside, no traffic, no bustle of life just nature singing bringing in another year, fantastic! I have nothing negative to say of this venue, the food the drinks and staff were all top notch, a lot of venues could learn from these guys and should! Well done to all for a very welcoming and enjoyable stay. THANK YOU.

Easily the best of the 3 places we stayed in Cornwall. Lovely quiet setting next to the tidal River Tamar. Plenty of parking. Superb rooms and an amazing nights sleep. An ideal base to have a walk. We left the bags in the car and headed south for 1 mile to the bus stop for Tregantle Fort. The trek east along the coast is particularly beautiful from Rame Head to Cremyll. The Wilcove Inn ticked every box. It was tastefully decorated, had a comfortable bath to relax in and provided really good gastro pub food. I would definitely recommend it to friends.

We booked two rooms and spent a delightful two days here. The car park is large and the inn has plenty of outside seating with great views of the Tamar and Devonport dockyard with all the RN ships coming and going. Our rooms were very comfortable and they placed binoculars in each room. Breakfast was great with the friendly and attentive staff being trained up for the task. A lovely walk to the OLd Quay and Antony House nearby for more walks, etc. Not cheap but good value for the experience.
