Grupotel Tamariscos

This is a difficult review to write because there were so many great things about the hotel but also some disappointments. When we arrived, we were given a warm reception and were pleasantly surprised to find our room was ready despite it being very early in the afternoon. The apartment was spacious, clean bedding and soft towels. However, the kitchen area had seen better days. The cupboards needed repair, the microwave was rusty and the fridge leaked water and the door had rust holes. We didn’t intend to self cater as such so we didn’t worry too much. We found the beds comfortable but the wardrobe doors were almost impossible to open, and I had to wipe some sticky mess off the inside before we could store our clothes. The room had a lovely view, overlooking the pool and the sea. However, from the other side of the balcony was a view of the car park and the hotel next door. We settled in and used both the bar and restaurant facilities. The food was excellent. One of the best choices of food we have had at breakfast . The service from the bar and the waiting staff was exceptional. The hotel’s location could not be beaten. Lovely sea views, and a few minutes from the Marina one way and a couple of minutes to the beach the other way. This hotel itself is very quiet, and probably more suited to couples rather than those with children. However, the hotels on either side are not quiet and after a few days we were forced to ask to change rooms. This was due to the excessive noise from the water park in the grounds of the hotel next door. Even with all our windows and doors closed, we could still hear the noise. The reception manager was very helpful and arranged for a new room on the following morning. Now this room was more in the centre of the hotel. Had fantastic views and was so much quieter. The kitchen was in a slightly better state of repair and the fridge was fine. The wardrobes were just the same, with one door missing a handle. We were concerned that there was no grab rail when getting in and out of the bath/shower. The door to the apartment had been badly damaged but not repaired and the door had to be slammed shut in order to lock with the key. My view of this hotel is that they have put all the money into the communal areas. Reception, restaurant, bar, pool area, all being just right. However, the rooms really do need updating. The cleaners did their best in the allotted time but all the mirrors and windows could have done with a proper clean. In fairness to other hotels I have reviewed I can’t rate this hotel any higher. This is my personal opinion as I know that some people return here year after year.

Bed n pillows were very comfortable staff were very kind and courteous breakfast was ok great location for the beach and harbour maid came in every day but her day off it was our first time to menorca and that hotel and we will definitely be back as well

My friend and I had a very enjoyable week at the Tamariscos. The location is wonderful and our ground floor room had a terrace with a view out across the sea and to the lighthouse. Plenty of space in the apartment and the room was kept spotless by housekeeping. Breakfast was a lovely buffet, which was never the same and there was always something new to try. Excellent choices, great quality food and the coffee was very good too. Every member of staff we had contact with was extremely friendly and efficient. We immediately felt comfortable and it was a pleasure to be made so welcome. The service was excellent. The hotel itself is in need of some refurbishment, we had a small problem with a leak in our room and the staff were particularly helpful. This would not stop us from returning for another holiday and I am sure the necessary work will be carried out as soon as possible. The marina is a short walk and there is a good choice of restaurants. The coastal walk runs by the hotel and the beach is very close. The hotel has two pools, both excellent and the restaurant and bar areas are very well run. The staff are the biggest asset, smiling, friendly and welcoming.

Just back from a great week at this hotel, staff were lovely and friendly, room was comfortable, had a lovely time. Having 2 pools was great as plenty of sunbeds and great views over the sea. Would recommend. However evening entertainment was advertised but there was none, didn’t bother us but might others.

Lovely setting. Good breakfast buffet. Plenty of choices. Helpful and friendly staff. Always ready with a smile. Good , clean room with a beautiful sea view. Choice of two swimming pools. Both lovely and clean. Hotel right by the sea and close to restaurants and shops.

Yet another lovely stay. Very clean apartment as usual.Staff very helpful and thank you for the bottle of bubbly. Such a nice touch.wonderful views from our rooms and great beach just around the corner. Walking distance to harbour and shops and restaurants.
