Hotels near beach of Sa Caleta, Caleta d＇en Gorries, Ciutadella, Area Metropolitana De Ciutadella

This was a really lovely small hotel. It is very close to the centre of Cuitadella old town, which meant that it was close to some excellent restuarants, including our favourite Moriarty. The staff at the hotel were exceptional - every member of staff was efficient, helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them, from the waitress at breakfast, the reception staff and the cleaners. Our room, I have to say was basic but it had a very comfortable bed and a great shower. Plenty of coat hangers, a safe and a fridge and although there was no kettle there was one for general use in the lounge area by reception. Complimentary water by the glass was also available from a dispenser by reception. The swimming pool as gorgeous. Very clean and a good size for swimming lengths and towels can be obtained from reception. Lovely seating area around the pool as well with sun beds and also relaxing sofas and chairs. Breakfast was good with a selection of cereals, fruit, breads and pastries, smoked salmon, scrambled eggs and bacon. Coffee from the machine was excellent. Wifi was also excellent and for those who want it there were English TV channels available. A/C also worked well.

We never got to do the check-in because when we arrived there was nobody to meet us there. The door was closed and no matter how many times we called the telephone number provided on the hotel sign, there was no answer. The hotel has no 24h reception service. This is usually not a problem for us as we have had this in many ocasions, however, usually you are then provided with check-in instructions to acces the hotel. The hotel asks you to provide the time of arrival 24h in advance. We had asked for an early check-in which was denied (no problem, we know it is subject to availability), the hotel told us that they will therefore expect us as from 14:00 onwards. I wrote to the hotel that we would be there after lunch (which in spain is usually after 15:00h) as there was no further question about the time of check-in and the hotel did not mention any inconvinience regarding my info, we did not forward more information. We had been up since 01:00am. When we arrived at 17:00h (so not any strange time, we were not attended. Neither at the property nor vía telephone. We called 33!!!!! times over the time span of 1h 17min. In the meantime we contacted *********** for help, they also tried to contact the property without any response from the property. They then started the process of relocating us and cancelled the booking at this hotel with a refund (the hotel charged us the full stay in advance). We had to be relocated to a more expensive hotel, booking took care of the difference. Our new hotel was fortunately much more beautiful and in a better location. The lady who should have checked us in finally called us back when we were in the middle of the phone call with booking. I asked her to wait and she very rudely responded she doesn't have the time to wait. We had been waiting 2 hours infront of the closed door of her hotel!!! And instead of apologizing she was being rude about it and also saying she has only 4 calls. This is a complete lie. I have all calls on record. There was even a spanish couple who tried to help us by phoning her also and even leaving her a voice message. There was no apology whatsoever. Just rudeness and giving us the feeling she is glad she does not have to deal with us (probably did not suit her time schedule for the day to come and check us in). We are apalled by the treatment we got. I have worked in the hotel industry for nearly 16 years, also in a management position at a 5* hotel. I know exactly how things should work and what is completely unacceptable. Even if the hotel has no 24h reception, there must be someone available at least by phone. A guest could have a serious emergency (health issue) and need assistance. This is a serious issue. We speak spanish as we live in Spain and know what we have to do and who we need to call in case of an emergency. But most foreign tourists don't. This hotel has no sense of customer service at all. The location is very pretty, on cobbled streets and narrow passages but very close to the main street. The staff was very kind and helpful and patient with us, even though we couldn't speak the language right. the rooms are spacious and excellently tidy and aesthetically pleasing. they have a common area with an open roof where you can stargaze on summer nights.

What a lovely hotel! We booked only 2 weeks before our holiday and emailed the hotel to request a room with a pool view and happily we were in a really nice location. I did feel the restaurant was more like a cafeteria and very brightly lit. On our first evening we were left to find a table when it was really busy. It's always nice to be greeted by someone when you arrive. There was plenty of choice for hot and cold meals. We walked to the marina each evening and as others have said it is a 15/20 minute walk from the hotel. Depends how fast you walk!! The cleaning staff are brilliant and cleaned our room every day. The pools and grounds are well looked after also. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

A little gem of a hotel. Perfect location for the marina and beach. Although we didn’t have a sea view the room was still clean, spacious, comfy beds (maybe not the pullout but much better than in some family rooms we have visited recently). Breakfast was plentiful and evening meals were fine, not lots of choice but enough and is replenished regularly - first all inclusive I have been to and didn’t find anything undercooked so care seems to be taken. In other reviews people have commented on flies on the food. Yes it is a little gross but not really sure what the hotel can do, they have lots of fly lights and fans around to kill them but they are relentless. Sitting outside to eat helps but they are very irritating. Sunbeds were not tricky to get, after breakfast there were plenty to choose from. Lovely pool, very clean and inviting and never too busy. Drinks are priced reasonably - it would be nice if water was supplied with evening meals, as it is at breakfast or even if you are allowed to bring your own water into the restaurant would be good. All staff are very hardworking, constantly cleaning and renovating around the grounds, always happy to help. Supermarket over the road brilliant for stocking up on food for the fridge, all apartments have full cooking facilities - we didn’t use but could see some families cooking in the evenings. Without doubt we will return - it’s the best round hotel we have stayed in for a long time, try and book sea view if you can afford. We only booked 2 days before we flew so rooms were limited but the view must be wonderful!

Don’t go here for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. Live Disco starts up at 2pm each day, 12 on Saturdays, and continues through until 8pm. We’re not very mobile so we chose a pool view suite so we would be close to sunbeds around the pool and not far for us to go back to our room for toilet etc. The pool is wholly surrounded by cabanas which will cost you an extra 45 euros a day. The hotel is known as Arena beach club and is open to anyone from outside. We arrived to a hen party in full swing. The pool view rooms are all in a poor state (as stated by maintenance) when we had to get them out for Air Con which came on whilst we were asleep. I awoke to a dreadful racket. Air con is on a timer so can’t use in the daytime if you want to use the suite. The sliding door was extremely hard for me to slide open and the shower knob I just couldn’t turn to get the overhead shower. It’s a very crowded relaxing area for a large hotel. The sunbeds are all very close to each other and are positioned incorrectly to get any shade from the umbrellas. If you’re lucky enough to get an intact one. If you put your brolly up you put someone else in the shade. Also they are on fine gravel impossible to walk on with bare feet or flip flops, need solid shoes But it’s the noise that makes this hotel unbearable. 6 hours of non stop disco is too much. Plus side, the beds are comfortable and water really hot. We moved rooms and the air con was fine and NOT timed. Doors opened easily. Not much storage space in either room even though they were a good size and very few plug sockets. None on one side of the bed. One behind settee and one by sink. The shower in new room was open to the room too. Very strange

We spent a wonderful time here. The hotel and the room are well equipped for your clothes and luggage, very clean with a Very nice sea view. Bed is confortable. We did appreciate to have an extra single bed for our 3 year old child (too tall to sleep in our bed, too young to have a separate room). Very nice pool. Quality towels. Very good quality of food (fishes, excellent fruits, Italian). 1st prize is given to the Staff that is really really great, always smiling and helping. Special thanks to Jennifer, Esther and Mathias and their communicative positive energy. Also a big thanks to Judit who remembered our preferences (being with a banco for our child), Aida, Mari, Maria and Abel at the breakfast. Also Mor fall, and Tidiane who came (even without we asked him for) to help us moving the car we had rented with the hotel but that was in a tiny parking place. We did also greatly appreciate the shows on evenings (the one with fire on Monday and the magic and bubble show for the kids). The mini club is great.

My wife and I stayed at HG Jardín in August 24 with our two children, 6 and 2 years old. The hotel is lovely, the staff are friendly and the breakfast is sooo nice. If I was stopping here it would be a solid 4.5 out of 5. However, the money you pay is for the overnight accommodation and this needs serious upgrades. We stayed in block 6B. This block had an issue with the drains that created an awful smell via the air con when water was run. Using a tap or flushing the loo would pump a dreadful smell around your room through the 4 outlets of the air con unit. This meant if you wanted a cool nights sleep you risked a bad smell wafting over you in your sleep if a neighbour flushed there loo in the dead of night. We spoke to our neighbour and they experienced the same. I also read a review before we came and someone else mentioned block 6 had a drain issue so this wasn’t just our room. Whether the other blocks have this issue is unknown but be warned. It stinks. The shower head bracket was broken in our room too meaning the shower head wouldn’t stay up straight. Be warned the double beds are two single beds pushed together and move along the floor when you turnover in the night. If they addressed these issues this hotel is brilliant. The hotel, pool and grounds are modern, really clean and great for the family but the rooms are tired and need an update.
