Hotel Princesa Parc Excellence

Great family hotel ski experience. The hotel offers facilities that cater for the whole family from spa to a sports/games bar (with bowling). The buffet breakfast and dinner had plenty of variety. We also celebrated the new year in the hotel, which was a lot of fun with cabaret singer, cava and the obligatory 12 grapes (doce uvas). Our room was serviced everyday. The team at the hotel are professional, friendly and super helpful. Tip for those who like spice in their food is to buy some hot sauce at the local supermarket to take to dinner, the hotel didn’t cater for this. Would we stay again? Most definitely….

Shocking stay on NYE. We were put in a family room located beside the live entertainment which didn’t stop until 3.30am. When we complained there was no acceptance for anything wrong with this as it was NYE! A spa voucher was given.

The hotel is tucked away among hundreds of mountains, offering a peaceful atmosphere and incredible panoramic views. You can see mountain after mountain stretching into the distance — I can only imagine how magical it must look in winter. The lobby is full of light and greenery, like a natural extension of the outdoors. My first impression was very positive. I even spotted some horses in the yard — a lovely bonus. The spa experience was also fantastic. There were several pools and saunas to choose from, and the €15/hour fee felt more than fair. My husband is a big spa fan, and he was thrilled. The room was... okay. A bit smaller than I expected, but manageable. My biggest issue was the lighting — especially in the bathroom. I don’t know why so many hotels get this wrong. As a woman, if you want to win me over, give me lighting that makes me look in the mirror and say, “Wow, I look amazing!” Instead, I felt like I was lying on a hospital bed about to go into surgery. So far, still a solid 4-star experience. Then came dinner — and the nightmare began. How do I describe the food? Let’s just say, I wish I had arrived a week earlier, because that’s probably when it was cooked. My food standards are simple: just be fresh. Fancy cooking isn’t necessary if the ingredients are good. Sadly, the food here failed miserably on freshness. The shrimp and fish had such a strong, unfresh seafood smell that I had to wash my hands three times to get rid of it. The meat was dry and tough — clearly reheated — and the vegetables tasted bitter, like they had given up on life. Honestly, the whole buffet felt like a funeral for food. I wanted to throw up after eating — and my husband actually did. I felt awful for choosing to eat there. I spoke with a lovely woman at the front desk who said she would talk to the manager about a refund. The next day, the manager declined — because “you already ate the food.” He did, however, agree to refund our breakfast, since there was no way we were going to risk eating there again. That dinner will stay with me for a long, long time. I’m actually curious if I’ll ever encounter a worse meal in my life. It’ll be tough to beat.
