King Jason Zante – Designed for Adults

King Jason Zante is an absolute oasis from the real world. From the moment you arrive, you feel like you've checked into an alternative realm where nothing is rushed, no one is stressed and everything is calm. We were greeted by warm staff, including Anna, head of guest experiences, and fresh lemonade, before being taken to our villa by a friendly concierge member. Our suite was minimalistic and soft, with neutral furnishings, tiled floors and a terrace with coastal views. A number of villas also offer their own infinity pools overlooking the Ionian Sea. Highlights of the room included the gorgeous linen dressing gowns, which became our accidental uniforms for most of the stay, and the spacious double shower. Restaurants: There's a choice of three restaurants at King Jason Zante, all of which include a terrace for outside dining. Haroub serves up Lebanese cuisine with a set menu (think flavourful falafel bites and zesty giant couscous), while Pisco specialises in Peruvian dishes with a Japanese fusion. A highlight is absolutely the vegan menu, which boasts sweet potato and avocado dips with crunchy tortilla chips, deep fried aubergine and vegetarian sushi...heavenly! The waiter from Albania, whose name I have unfortunately forgotten, was particularly lovely! Meanwhile, breakfast, lunch and dinner are available daily in the resort's all-inclusive eatery, Watergarden. Here, guests can choose from a wide range of international dishes with a focus on Mediterranean cuisine. Light bites and drinks can be found at the poolside bar, which also hosts live music from a talented guitarist at weekends. Without a doubt, the biggest draw of King Jason Zante, is the space. There was always free daybeds and loungers, and the pools were often entirely empty. Despite this, everything is in close proximity - you never have to walk far to move between the pools, spa, suites and restaurants, and you're always within metres of an attentive staff member. The perfect choice for anyone who wants to detox from the stresses of modern life, and just soak up the simple pleasures of azure waters, Greek sunshine and delicious food. Highly recommend.

I will be brief. If you are searching for a genuine 5 Star hotel, all inclusive, adults only, good food and wine, relaxing and in Europe look no further. This is beautiful. It is a very new hotel so there are some teething problems but nothing to spoil your holiday. I do think however, that the hotel website should warn that the hotel is under the flightpath to the airport! More interesting than a problem.

I spent 5 nights at King Jason and was amazing from the moment we stepped in to the last minute when departed. The room was well designed, cleaned twice a day and had all amenities like coffee machine, mini bar and toiletries. We were upgraded to the swim up room which was a real bonus. The hotel itself is newly built and very well designed. Plenty of pools which makes you spoilt for choice. The three restaurants offer a nice variety of food with exceptional service. Inevitably there is a bit of snagging to be done (as well as complete a few more rooms) but do not affect the stay in any way. Finally I would say that every member of staff were amazing, always with a smile and ready to please.

Our stay at King Jason Zante was absolutely wonderful. The hotel is beautifully maintained, with modern amenities and a relaxing atmosphere. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and catered to our every need. The food was delicious, with a wide variety of options. It would be harsh to pass judgement on the King Jason just a couple of months after it’s opening, but sadly many already have. From my point of view you have to accept that a newly built hotel (especially with the second phase still to be completed) on a previously wooded site is unlikely to be ‘the finished article’. Trees and plants take time to grow and anyone who has ever moved into a new-build house will know it takes year to complete the final picture. But the location is excellent and the design of the hotel, its accommodation blocks and its pools are a tribute to the architect’s vision. People have commented on the harshness of the concrete structures but the use of water has acted to soften this and provides the linkage required to make the overall design ‘flow’. And as the selected plantings mature it will be even more of the oasis it was planned to be! But to the present, and I can only comment on what is currently on offer to guests now. Staff: Firstly the staff, from management to the cleaning staff are excellent from the minute you check in to when you eventually are forced to go home. I was impressed in a recent visit to a Louis Hotel in Cyprus by the quality of the staff, all who had clearly be trained to a high standard and were there to ensure you enjoyed your stay with them. The King Jason continues to meet those standards, albeit many of the staff have only been in place for a matter of weeks. Accommodation: We were in a Superior Room in Block One and it was extremely comfortable and furnished to very high standard. Housekeeping was daily along with towel changes and cleaning. The minibar was topped up daily and a couple of bottles of water were also left. I can appreciate why people would be attracted to the swim-up rooms but my twisted mind conjures up an image of the sea-lions at the zoo, where you are under constant view from 270 degrees at eye-level and viewed from above by the first floor guests. Not a lot of privacy I’m afraid. Food: I know there have been criticisms of the ‘repetitive choices’ in the Watergarden Restaurant, but we don’t all serve up a different meal every day at home. The food was varied with a great choice for every diet, vegan, meat eater etc. The food was always freshly cooked and good quality and the salad choices were first class. Fresh bread and rolls were available daily at each meal. Unfortunately I’m now half a stone heavier after a 10 day stay! Both the Haroub and Piscou serve a huge menu associated with their country’s cuisine but it is not for the faint of heart and you will be there for a long time with the number of dishes served up! But do try them. Bars: I’ve seen a number of complaints about the service at both the pool bar and the cocktail bar. Personally it was not an issue for me and the staff were quick to recognise you and start pouring your regular drinks as you approach. Or maybe that says something about my drinking habits! Overall the hotel is lovely, very welcoming and accommodating. You cannot fault how the staff talk and approach you. They’re outstanding, the only fault and this is picking is comparing it to the King Jason in Protaras they’re not as quick at serving. A huge appreciation for the staff who without any prompt prepared cake and champagne for my wife’s birthday. Which was truly amazing. The layout of the hotel is lovely but if you’re looking for atmosphere this hotel would not be for you, it is very spaced out with plenty of room for all guests. We had a swim up room, at times it can feel a little close to your neighbours, however we have never spent a holiday before where majority of our time was in the room yet because of how nice the swim up was we truly didn’t mind it. Unfortunately, what lets this hotel down is the location and the noise coming from the derelict area and flight path be directly above. The local beach is awful and unless you hire a car / taxi you are pretty stumped. Overall the only reason for the mark down is the pricing and noise that surrounds it. I feel if the pricing was around 10-20% less I could have accepted the minor floors and scored it a 5/5. I am however confident being a newly built hotel, that they’re listening to their customers to continuously improve the hotel.

Serene, ethereal, you can immerse in a system of infinity pools, insulated from the worries of this world. Definitely recommended!
