Booked this last minute to take advantage of two bonus points offers, but I was a bit hesitant having read the existing reviews. Location was great for all the things I needed to visit nearby, and hotel was easy to find just off the freeway. Missed the driveway initially, but luckily there's another entrance just behind the McDonalds at the roundabout. Plenty of free, unsecured parking. There are street lamps to park under if you want. Automated check-in (and -out) machine was fine. Deserted lobby and only one staff member visible. There are two wings, be aware that the only set of stairs is in one wing and the only guest lift is in the other. Even if you get frustrated waiting for the lift (to come down) avoid taking the nearby fire stairs. Some of the stairwell doors indicate that they are alarmed, and some do do not. If you get stuck in the stairwell, you'll need to phone reception. The lack of staff might mean that it takes a few calls before one is answered. Booked an executive queen room, on level 2. No complaints, clean, spacious and quiet (facing away from the car park and McDs). There was a safe, and also a coffee machine. Bathroom was modern and the shower spacious. The opening window to let in fresh air was a bonus. I'm surprised that hotels that have this don't highlight it on their websites. The air-con control took a bit of figuring out to see whether it was on or off. The kitchenette was handy. Is it for environmental reasons that many hotels no longer have plastic bags in the rubbish bins? I wonder whether it makes it harder for staff to clean them if there is no bag. For in-room dining, there are daily specials and when I stayed there was a discount on some items too. There are plenty of dining options just a close drive away. Overall, a good stay and the generous bonus Accor points were the cherry on top.
