Olerai Lodge

We stayed for one night. The lodge is beautiful with a nice garden. However the road to the lodge is quite difficult to reach if it raining or has rained. If you managed the off triad it is very close to the airport. Service and staff are very friendly. Dinner and breakfast is very good.

Olerai is a gorgeous spot hidden in Arusha. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by a relaxing atmosphere and incredibly friendly staff. During sunset you can enjoy a bonfire overlooking Mount Meeru. The food and drinks are delicious, bringing you the best of Swahili and global food. The staff is particularly exceptionally. Fadhili went above and beyond.

Our favourite hotel in Tanzania - very friendly staff - comfortable, luxurious and spacious rooms, delicious food and beautiful surroundings. We love the bonfire and bar at nighttime and ecofriendly use of glass bottles. The monkeys are also very cute! Special thanks to Peter and Annette for looking after us. Highly recommended!

We stayed at Olerai Lodge for three nights after arriving from Dar es Salaam and before starting our safari, and honestly, our stay became one of the most memorable parts of our entire trip. The lodge is incredibly beautiful, stylish, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Everything is thoughtfully designed and aesthetically pleasing. It feels wonderfully safe, peaceful, and secluded! A true oasis where you can completely relax and forget about everything else. There is also a lovely swimming pool where we could rest, sunbathe, and fully recharge before our safari. The service was exceptional, and the entire team was incredibly warm, kind, and welcoming. This was also the place where we learned our very first words in Swahili, which made our stay even more special and gave us such a lovely introduction to Tanzania. We will especially never forget Peter! He made our stay truly unforgettable, and we already miss him so much! Peter, thank you for everything! The food was absolutely delicious, and every meal was a real pleasure. The staff also surprised us with a lovely celebration at the end of our stay, which made the experience even more memorable. Everything was truly of the highest standard. Olerai Lodge was the perfect place to rest and prepare for our safari, and we sincerely hope that one day we will have the chance to return. A truly wonderful and unforgettable place!

We had an absolutely wonderful final stay at Olerai Lodge, which was the perfect way to end our time in Tanzania before flying to Zanzibar. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the beauty, comfort, and exceptional service of the lodge. The rooms are simply stunning: spacious, luxurious, and beautifully designed, almost as if they came straight out of a movie. The swimming pool was a great place to relax, and enjoying cocktails around the campfire in the evening made the experience even more special. Everything about the lodge feels outstanding and truly exceptional. We highly recommend combining a stay at Olerai Lodge with your final day in Tanzania. After a wonderful night in the beautiful rooms, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast with plenty of choice before heading out for a waterfall hike and a visit to the Arusha market. Despite our tight schedule, the chefs were incredibly flexible and prepared a fantastic brunch for us within just 20 minutes, allowing us to enjoy one more great meal before leaving. The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and adaptable to our situation. Their hospitality and willingness to help made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, Olerai Lodge was the perfect ending to our Tanzanian adventure. The combination of luxury, comfort, amazing food, and exceptional hospitality made it an unforgettable experience. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing stay near Arusha.

We LOVED Olerai! The rooms are gorgeous, the food is amazing and the staff is just the best. Annette and Peter were our favorites and took such great care of us. We just wish we could have stayed longer and bought more lovely things from the gift shop!! Yes, it's a bit of a bumpy ride to get there but well worth it. And sundowner at the fire pit is awesome!!

Beautiful location with lots of vegetation. The room was clean and bed was super comfortable. It was very quiet and private. The food was great and the service outstanding. I would recommend this location while in Arusha.

Olerai Lodge is an absolute pleasure. Getting to the lodge is an experience in itself, but after arriving you are treated with beautiful surroundings filled with birds (we saw 20+ species), vervet monkeys, and the sounds of nature. We stayed in a three-person room which was spacious, clean, with everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the porch, sitting outside with views of Mount Meru and the wildlife. The food was absolutely delicious, using local ingredients. The best about Olerai were the people, who were warm and welcoming. They made our four-day stay a real treat. Asante sana!
